Learning motivation is the drive from both internal and external sources of students that makes them enthusiastic about learning, striving to achieve achievements, and able to overcome obstacles in the learning process. The research design used in this study is the "One Group Pretest-Posttest Design." This study aims to determine the effect of group guidance strategies using self-management techniques on increasing the learning motivation of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 6 Pandeglang for the 2025/2026 academic year. The population in this study consists of eleventh-grade students at SMA Negeri 6 Pandeglang, sample in this study consisted of 79 students who were given a learning motivation questionnaire; the selected students for the experimental group then received treatment with group guidance using self-management techniques. The data collection technique used was a learning motivation questionnaire prepared by the researcher, while the data analysis technique employed normality tests, homogeneity tests, and T-tests. The research results showed that after the treatment, there was a difference in the average pretest and posttest scores. Hypothesis testing using the T-test results yielded a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05, which means Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This proves that there is a significant difference in learning motivation before and after the treatment. Therefore, students' learning motivation increased after being provided with group guidance services using the self-management technique to enhance students' learning motivation. Keywords: Learning Motivation, Group Guidance, Self ManagementLearning motivation is the encouragement from within and outside of students that makes them excited to learn, strive to achieve achievements, and be able to overcome obstacles in the learning process. In the world of education, students who have high learning motivation tend to be more active, disciplined, accomplished, and able to make good use of time and opportunities. This research was conducted using  a Quantitative approach with a pre-experiment type, The research design used in this study is "One Group Pretest-Postest Design". This study aims to determine the influence of group guidance strategies with self management  techniques to increase the learning motivation of grade XI students of SMA Negeri 6 Pandeglang for the 2025/2026 Academic Year. The population in this study is grade XI students of SMA Negeri 6 Pandeglang with a total of 363 people. The sample in this study is 79 students who will be given a learning motivation questionnaire, then selected to be an experimental group  are given treatment with group guidance using self-management techniques. The data collection technique used was a learning motivation questionnaire prepared by the researcher, while the data analysis technique used a normality test, a homogeneity test, and a T test.   Hypothesis testing uses the results of the T test with a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.001 < 0.05 which means that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. This proves that there are significant differences in learning motivation before and after treatment. Thus, students' learning motivation increases after being provided with group guidance services with self-management  techniques to increase students' learning motivation

This study aims to determine the differences in students’ learning independence based on parental parenting styles at SMA Negeri 6 Pandeglang. The background of this research stems from the importance of parenting in shaping children’s character and learning attitudes, especially during adolescence when students are expected to be independent in managing their own learning process. The sample consisted of 88 students from grades X and XI, selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires containing instruments on learning independence and parenting styles, then analyzed using the Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) statistical method. The results showed significant differences in learning independence based on parenting styles, with an F value of 38.28 and a significance level of 0.00 < 0.05. Students with democratic parenting had the highest learning independence, followed by permissive, while the lowest was found in authoritarian parenting. These findings indicate that parenting style significantly influences the development of students’ learning independence. The implications of this study provide a foundation for guidance and counseling services to design programs that support the improvement of students’ learning independence in a structured and sustainable manner. This study aims to determine the differences in students’ learning independence when viewed from parenting styles at SMA Negeri 6 Pandeglang. The background of this research is based on the importance of parental roles in shaping children’s character and learning attitudes, especially during adolescence when students are required to be independent in managing their own learning process. The research sample consisted of 88 students from grades X and XI who were selected randomly. Data were collected through questionnaires consisting of instruments on learning independence and parenting styles. The data obtained were then analyzed using statistical techniques with Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The results of the study showed significant differences in students’ learning independence based on parenting styles, with F = 38.28 and significance value of 0.00 < 0.05. Students with democratic parenting showed the highest level of learning independence, followed by those with permissive parenting, while the lowest level was found in authoritarian parenting. These findings confirm that parenting style has a real influence on the development of learning independence. The implications of this research provide an important basis for guidance and counseling services in schools, particularly in designing programs that can support the sustainable development of students’ independent learning skills

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods

We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
