“To Be the Salt of the Earth” – a challenge for the faith

Biskup ŚwidnickiThe author explains the motto of the current pastoral year – ‘To Be the Salt
of the Earth’ in the context of the challenges the Year of the Faith poses for
the faithful, especially priests and catechists. The author points out two tasks
the motto contains. The first one is adding taste to life through preaching and
witnessing the Gospel. The second one is preservation of the values rooted in
the world by Christianity, but fought today, especially the protection of life,

These sources have been divided into the following groups: main personal patterns (his family and people he met during his study period at the Priests Seminary in Pinsk (Belarus today); Holy Scripture, teaching of the Church and great theologians; follow philosophers, psychologists and educators; the next group consists of men of science and culture (scholars, poets and writers); finally – saints and national heroes. The author concludes that God and man was the main theme of the teaching of Fr Zienkiewicz. Both the image of God and of man, in his teaching were based on the Holy Scripture, the classical philosophy, theology, psychology, pedagogy and classical literature
John Paul II’ s View of the Inherent Human Dignity
No full textThe author in his article sheds light on a very important topic of John Paul II’s teaching which is the dignity of the human person. The article consists of three parts.
In the first one reasons for rejecting the truth of the dignity of the human person in the contemporary times are presented.
In the second one the author speaks about the natural dignity of man and its ontological foundations are underlined. These foundations are: self-consciousness (an ability of intellectual perception), freedom (an ability of self-determination) and love (an ability of becoming a gift to another man).
The third part of the article is dedicated to showing the sources of the supernatural human dignity. Man as God’s image is taken here in consideration by presenting the human dignity revealed in the moment of Creation and then „supplemented” in the mystery of the lncarnation and Redemption. This natural and supernatural human dignity forms a basis for a special honor that is due to a human person. This is why „man is the first and the most fundamental way on which the Church should walk in fulfilling her ministry, is the first and the most fundamental way of the Church” (RH 14)
Die Transzendenz des Menschen in der Sicht der klassischen Philosophie
No full textIm vorliegenden Artikel wurde die Transzendenz des Menschen in der Sicht der klassischen Philosophie erörtert. Von dieser Richtung der Philosophie wählte Autor zwei führenden polnischen Denker: M. A. Krąpiec und Kardinal K. Wojtyła.
Die Thematik gliederte der Autor in vier Teile auf. Im ersten Teil ging er auf die Erkenntnis ein. Im Problembereich der Transzendenz der Erkenntnis hat man die Rolle der Wahrheit betont. Hingewisen wurde auch auf eine menschliche Fähigkeit zur Reflexion, in der ebenfalls die Transzendenz des Menschen offenbar wird.
Im zweiten Teil wurde auf die Liebe eingegangen. In den Liebesakten wird auch die Transzendenz des Menschen offenbar.
Der dritte Teil zeigt das dritte Gebiet der menschlichen Transzendenz − die menschliche Freiheit. Die Freiheit des Menschen offenbart sich in der Entscheidung und in der Wahl.
Im vierten Teil wurde zur ontischen Ursache der Transzendenz, die in den Reflexionen der hier untersuchten Autoren, besonders bei M. A. Krąpiec zu finden sind, Stellung genommen.
M.A. Krąpiec vertritt die Ansicht, daß der letzliche Grund der Transzendenz des Menschen in der menschlichen Seele, die durch den Intellekt und den Willen wirkt, zu suchen sei. Über die Transzendenz des Menschen entscheidet mithin letzlich der menschliche Geist, dessen Existenz und Natur wir bei der Suche nach den Ursachen der erfahrenen, menschlichen, freien Erkenntnis und Liebe, erkennen
Arcybiskup Marian Gołębiewski jako teolog i pasterz
Full text linkL’autore del presente studio presenta uno dei maggiori gerarchi della Chiesa in Polonia dell’epoca moderna, l’arcivescovo e metropolita di Wrocław, Mons. Marian Gołębiewski, figlio della diocesi di Włocławek. L’articolo comincia con una breve biografia di Mons. M. Gołębiewski (con l’accento sulla sua profonda educazione nel campo delle scienze bibliche), segue dunque una sintetica descrizione della sua attivitù scientifico-didattica (con una speciale messa in rilievo della sua importante posizione tra i biblisti polacchi, nonché dei meriti del Prof. Gołębiewski nel campo dello studio su Deutero-Isaia). L’articolo continua con una breve descrizione della sua attivitù pastorale, specialmente nel campo della “nuova evangelizzazione”, fondata sull’approfondimento della vicinanza alla parola di Dio dei fedeli nelle diocesi a lui affidate. L’autore, infine, intraprende una sintesi del ruolo di Mons. Gołębiewski nell’attuale situazione pastorale e scientifico-sociale della Chiesa in Polonia. Il presente schizzo letterario sulla persona dell’Arcivescovo di Wrocław, conduce il lettore ad una importante considerazione: Mons. Gołębiewski, mostrando un esempio di una ben riuscita unione della cattedra universitaria e quella vescovile, l’unione dell’opera scientifica e quella pastorale, s’iscrive nell’illustre cerchio delle grandi personalitù provenienti dalla famosa diocesi di Włocławek.Niniejsza, szkicowa prezentacja działalności naukowej i duszpasterskiej ks. arcybiskupa Mariana Gołębiewskiego, metropolity wrocławskiego, pozwala nam na wyrażenie przekonania, że ks. Arcybiskup dołącza do świetlanych osób wywodzących się z Kościoła Włocławskiego. Jest szczególnym przykładem udanego łączenia katedry profesorskiej i katedry biskupiej, pracy naukowej z pracą duszpasterską. Należy przypuszczać, że posługę biskupią bardzo ułatwiły mu studia i działalność naukowo-dydaktyczna w dziedzinie nauk biblijnych. Lata posługi duszpasterskiej zarówno w diecezji koszalińsko-kołobrzeskiej, jak i w archidiecezji wrocławskiej pokazują, że Ksiądz Arcybiskup znakomicie przeszczepił swoją wiedzę biblijną na grunt duszpasterski, w szczególności w dziedzinę głoszenia słowa Bożego. Należy życzyć, by sławetna diecezja włocławska nadal wydawała wspaniałych ludzi nauki i duszpasterzy, by kapłani z niej się wywodzący byli ozdobą Kościoła w naszej Ojczyźnie. Niech wśród nich znajdzie się też ks. prof. dr hab. Zdzisław Pawlak
