Three Poems to Eleonora Duse (1924)
No full textThe famous actress Eleonora Duse died in Pittsburgh on April 21, 1924. She was on tour in the US with her company, and this tragic event was announced in the newspapers around the world. In May 1924, the Italian-American magazine «Il Carroccio» (founded and directed by the journalist Agostino De Biasi, an Italian migrant in New York) published a dossier in homage to Duse with the memories of many intellectuals who had known her. In particular, there are three poems written in English by three women that deserve a special attention: "Eleonora Duse. She of the Beautiful Hands" by Barbara Young, “Draw the Curtains” by Deborah Beirne, and "Duse as Francesca da Rimini" by Louise de Forest Shelton. The paper analyzes – for the first time – these poetic texts, considering Duse’s international success and the impact of her acting on the audience

Elenchos is the Rosminian way of critically introducing being, the original intelligibility of being, the undeniability of firts principles. Nevertheless, in his Logica our author treats the elenctic argument as an ad hominem argument, revealing an incomplete reception of the Aristotelian lesson on this subject

Drawing on the literary tradition that preceded her, the author proposes a new female model based on a reflection arising from the Women's Quarrel. The training of her heroine, far from being socially subversive – she is a predestined princess – is nonetheless emblematic, as she demands a woman’s right to a careful education in all areas. This can be seen as a harbinger of a new social order and a literary modernity that other novels would develop over the following centuries

No full textLa scelta del percorso scolastico da intraprendere dopo la scuola secondaria di primo grado è il risultato di molti fattori, alcuni interni al soggetto ed altri esterni, che rendono il processo decisionale particolarmente complesso sia per lo studente sia per il genitore (Mancinelli, 2014). Un ragazzo alle prese con questa scelta può trovarsi smarrito di fronte ai possibili percorsi da intraprendere sia a causa della poca chiarezza che possiede rispetto alle proposte formative e professionali del contesto al quale appartiene, sia perché non sempre è consapevole dei propri punti di forza e di debolezza. Uno studente, per effettuare una scelta che sia realistica e consapevole, deve soffermarsi a riflettere su alcune variabili: i suoi interessi, cioè le attività scolastiche ed extrascolastiche che più lo coinvolgono e per le quali prova un’attrazione; le attitudini, cioè l’inclinazione a svolgere una determinata attività con maggior efficienza rispetto alle altre sue capacità e la motivazione allo studio, quella “molla” che determina l’intensità e la continuità nel tempo di un comportamento.
Se per un adolescente riflettere su se stesso e considerare le diverse variabili del processo decisionale è un compito arduo, immaginiamo come sia complesso questo lavoro per un ragazzo con un Disturbo Specifico dell’Apprendimento (DSA), che a volte ha alle spalle anni di difficoltà scolastiche se non dei veri e propri insuccessi
