Stockholm Syndrome Reflected On Danielle Steel Undercover Novel (2015): A Sociological Approach
This study focuses on the issue of Stockholm syndrome found in the novel Undercover by
Danielle Steel (2015). The theory used to analyze this novel is the sociology approach. This
study aims to analyze the indicators of Stockholm syndrome found in the novel, how Stockholm
syndrome is described in the novel, and the reason the author states this issue in the novel. The
author uses two types of data to analyze this research, namely primary data and secondary data.
The primary data used is the Undercover novel by Danielle Steel while the secondary data
consist of journals, websites, electronic dictionaries related to this issue. There are three results
of research on this novel. First, there are five indicators related to the issue of Stockholm
syndrome, namely the emergence of positive feelings for kidnappers, brainwashing, romantic
relationships, the emergence of negative feelings towards saviors, and emotional ties. Second,
the author describes the issue of Stockholm syndrome through character, events, setting and
style. Third, the author states that the Stockholm syndrome issue in this novel is based on social
phenomena found in U.S, that was the kidnapping of Patty Hearst in California in 1974

This novel is about a girl from France, she is Marie-Ange Hawkins who lives in a magnificent castle name, Chateau de Marmouton. At the castle, she has childhood like everyone's dream. This research entitled "Being A Woman: A Feminist Literary Criticism on the novel ” Message from Nam” written by Danielle Steel' attempts to uncover the portrayal of woman in the novel Message from Nam, which is written by Danielle Steel, a woman writer.
This study employs a gualitative research method to analyze the novel based on the guestions: what is the representation of women image created in the novel, how does feminist critigue view the representation.
The research is conducting by reading the novel thoroughly and taking important notes from the novel. Then, the data is collected and analyzed by using Feminist Literary Criticism, with particular focus on the main woman character that fight for breaking conservative rules.
The result of the analysis reveals that a woman is positioned marginally in a patriarchal culture. Her existence is merely acknowledged so long as she is related to men's power
A Pragmatic Analysis of Love Expression in Mixed Blessing Translated Into Berkah Penuh Cobaab by Danielle Steel
This study deals with: (1) the variation of the language form of love expressions in Mixed Blessing translated into Berkah Penuh Cobaan by Danielle Steel, and (2) the equivalence of the intention of love expressions Mixed Blessing translated into Berkah Penuh Cobaan by Danielle Steel.
The type of this research is descriptive qualitative research, by which the object is love expressions in Mixed Blessing translated into Berkah Penuh Cobaan by Danielle Steel. In order to collect the data, the writer must, first read the novel, second classify the words or sentences of Love Expressions, and then the last give codes the data.
The results of the study shows that, (1) there are three types of sentence for love expressions, they are declarative sentence (I love you, dad, she whispered nervously), imperative sentence (Don’t be sensitive, Di. We just want to know what’s happening with you, that’s all. We love you), and interrogative sentence (What’s bothering you, sweetheart? I wish you would tell me He knew it had to be important, if she’d called Marina). (2) there are six intentions of love expressions, namely showing affection (I’m glad you’re happy, sweetheart, Andy whispered to her that night), showing care (Take care, he said quietly, and then they left), showing eagerness (I wish today is never end, she said, closing her eyes, and thinking of how wonderful it had been), showing engagement (I promise I’ll make it as easy as I can), showing persuasion (You look absolutely gorgeous!, he raved appreciatively and she grinned), and showing praise (You’re a beautiful bride, barb, Mark told her as they dance slowly around the floor)

Danielle Steel: Satu Kajian Analisis Wacana . Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk
mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis referensi komparatif menggunakan analisis
wacana. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif
yang menjelaskan, mengklasifikasikan, dan menganalisis data secara sistematis.
Data yang dihimpun dan dianalisis dalam skripsi ini berjumlah 48 data. Hasil dari
penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa referensi komparatif dengan kelas umum
memiliki fungsi sebagai penunjuk kesamaan, intensifier , dan penunjuk

In The Novel Message From Nam By Danielle Steel
A novel is a kind of fiction which is actually very interesting to read and to
discuss. It is like the real life of the world living – phenomena produced from writer’s
living experience. A good novel will be able to give its readers some important things
that are need into their life, such as teaching and good examples of good actions.
Novel is built from several elements that formed a unity and totally. The elements
are not separated. They work together to build a good work . Considering the purpose of
the educational scope in this study, the writer will analyze the educational values of the
novel.
The method used by the writer is qualitative method. The writer chooses this
method for some reasons. First, qualitative method is good method in studying plural
reality. Second, it presents the relation between the researcher and the research itself
directly. The last, it more useful and have high contribution for the student’s skill in
English.
The sample of the research is Danielle Steel’s novel entitled Message From Nam
that describes” The novel told about a young woman who lost her boy friend- Peterbecause
friendly fire in Vietnam War. She worked as Journalist who tried to find the
really condition in Vietnam. There, she met Captain Bill Quin and they loved each other.
But Bill was dead because Viet Chong shot him. And the last, she met Sergeant Tony
Campobello, they loved each other too. But, Tony was listed as missing in action. She
was so frustrated, but she never got up to find Tony. It needed too long time to search
Tony, she never knew that Tony was still alive or no. An miracle coming, she could find
him when she was feeling doubt. And finally they were happy and backed to America,
leaving the sadness of war.
The result of the writer’s analysis on Danielle Steel novel Message From Nam is a
foreign author who has many literature writings that explain universal message such as
educational values by using figurative language, such as: Peace is Beautiful, Loyalty in
Action, Hard Working, The power of Love, Telling the truth, and Don’t judge the
woman can not do the great thing
