On the Manuscript of the Composition ‘Polowanie’ [Hunting], or ‘Heca albo polowanie na zająca’ [Battue, or Hunting the Hare] from the Collection of the Missionary Priests in Vilnius
Komunikat dotyczy dwóch woluminów rękopiśmiennych znajdujących się obecnie w Dziale muzycznym Litewskiej Państwowej Biblioteki im. Martinasa Mażwidasa [Lietuvos Nacionalinės Martyno Mažvydo bibliotekos Muzikos skyrius] pod sygnaturą Mkrn-11. Badaczki z Litwy Laima Budzinauskienė i Agnė Januškaitė nazwały rękopisy ,,Wileńską Księgą Seminaryjną”. Autorka komunikatu dochodzi do wniosku, że wileńskie muzyczne woluminy rękopiśmienne powstały w 1828 r. u Księży Misjonarzy św. Wincentego á Paulo na Górze Zbawiciela w Wilnie i do zamknięcia Domu Misjonarzy w Wilnie w 1844 r. były własnością seminarium internum Księży Misjonarzy św. Jerzego, gdzie przetrwały do naszych czasów. Umieszczona w zbiorze utworów religijnych kompozycja Polowanie jest zdekompletowanym egzemplarzem opery Heca albo polowanie na zająca. Anonimowa krotochwila myśliwska w jednym akcie. The text concerns two manuscript volumes currently held in the Music Section (Muzikos Skyrius) of the Martynas Mažvydas National Library of Lithuania (Lietuvos Nacionalinės Martyno Mažvydo Bibliotekos) under the shelf-mark Mkrn-11. The Lithuanian researchers Laima Budzinauskienė and Agnė Januškaitė have called the manuscripts the ‘Vilnius Seminary Book’. The author of this article concludes that the manuscript volumes of music held in Vilnius were written in 1828 at the Congregation of the Mission of St Vincent de Paul on Saviour’s Mount in Vilnius and until the closure of the Mission House in Vilnius in 1844 remained the property of the Congregation’s seminarium internum. It was not until 1844 that the music-related documents were transferred to the Library of the Vilnius Diocesan Roman Catholic Seminary, located in the post-Carmelite Church of St George, where they have survived to the present day. The composition Polowanie [Hunting], held in a collection of sacred music, is in fact an incomplete copy of the opera Heca albo polowanie na zająca. Anonimowa krotochwila myśliwska w jednym akcie [Battue, or hunting the hare. An anonymous hunting farce in one act]
Franciszkańskie inwentarze muzyczne z II połowy XVII wieku ze zbiorów Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej w Wilnie
Research in the Manuscript Section of the Vilnius University Library has revealed three inventories, dating to the second half of the Seventeenth Century, containing musical documents of Franciscan ensembles active in Lvov, Drohiczyn and Przemyśl. The musical inventories of the Franciscan friars from Drohiczyn and Lvov (the Friary and Church of the Finding of the Holy Cross) have remained completely unknown till now, with only the 1677 inventory of Przemyśl known to the scholarly community since 1974. The newly discovered musical inventory from Przemyśl complements, in numerous areas, the Przemyśl inventory from 1677, providing more accurate information on the authors of musical works and their performers. In 2012, a critical edition of the three musical inventories appeared in an article from W nurcie franciszkańskim (Franciscan Trends), published by the Kraków-based Franciscan Scientific Association. This paper, therefore, focuses on presenting the contexts in which these lists of musical works were compiled and on a comparison of repertoires of the Conventual Franciscan ensembles active in the Seventeenth Century in Lvov, Drohiczyn and Przemyśl. The newly discovered Franciscan inventories show the preferred repertoire, the number of musicians and the musical genres performed in the Franciscan churches and friaries in the Lithuanian and Ruthenian Province in the second half of the Seventeenth Century by contemporary vocal and instrumental ensembles. Th ey provide more information about musical works by such renowned composers as Marcin Mielczewski (1605–1651) or Marco Scacchi (1602–1662). They also contain scant information on Franciscan composers Andrzej Chyliński (post 1658), W. Dembołęcki (c. 1585 – c. 1647), Vincenzo Scapitta (1584–1656), citing, respectively, single works of theirs.Kwerendy przeprowadzone w Dziale Rękopisów Biblioteki Uniwersyteckiej w Wilnie przyniosły odkrycie trzech inwentarzy z II połowy XVII w., w których zostały spisane muzykalia franciszkańskich kapel działających we Lwowie, Drohiczynie nad Bugiem i Przemyślu. Inwentarze muzyczne franciszkanów z Drohiczyna nad Bugiem i Lwowa (klasztor i kościół pw. Znalezienia Świętego Krzyża) nie były dotychczas w ogóle znane, jedynie inwentarz przemyski z 1677 r. wprowadzono do obiegu naukowego w 1974 r. Nowo odszukany muzyczny inwentarz przemyski w wielu miejscach uzupełnia inwentarz muzyczny przemyski 1677 r., konkretyzując autora kompozycji i skład wykonawczy. Odszukane franciszkańskie inwentarze obrazują preferencje repertuarowe, wielkość obsady, prezentują gatunki muzyczne kompozycji wykonywanych w kościołach i klasztorach franciszkańskich prowincji litewsko-ruskiej w II połowie XVII w. przez kapele wokalno-instrumentalne wówczas istniejące.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more
sophisticated methods
koamabayili/VECTRON-author-checklist: VECTRON author checklist
We have done our best to complete the author checklist relating to the use of animals in the hut study. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
