Sistemi colturali mediterranei e cambiamenti climatici: impatto sulle riserve di carbonio nel suolo
The title of the thesis is "Impact of the cropping systems and climate change on the soil carbon sink
in a Mediterranean area". The research was carried out in a North East of Sardinia area, near the
Berchidda and Monti towns. This area is characterized by several cropping system such pasture,
short term forage crops and vineyard. The aim of the research was to evaluate the influence of
different cropping system on the dynamic of soil organic matter and how the climatic change could
modify the crop production and the soil carbon sink. This study was carried out using the EPIC
simulation model.
A pedologic, vegetational and climatic characterization of the studied area were carried out.
Through this characterization we obtained information useful to describe the site and the cropping
systems. Moreover several data, obtained by this characterization, were used as input data for the
EPIC simulation model. After the calibration the EPIC model was used to carried out several
simulations to evaluate the soil organic carbon dynamic of the pasture and short term forage crops
cropping systems. In order to evaluate the effects of the climate change on the crop production and
soil carbon sink, we have used 2 different climatic scenarios (based on the A2 and B2 green house
gas emission scenarios proposed by the IPCC) generated by 2 general circulation model (HadCM3
and GISS) to create a "future weather" input file for the EPIC model
Complesso preistorico di Monte Baranta (Olmedo - SS): relazione sulla campagna di scavi 2012
During September and October 2012 archaeological excavations reopened in the prehistoric complex of Monte Baranta (Olmedo -SS), under license to Alberto Moravetti (University of Sassari). The archaeological site of Monte Baranta was partially explored in the years 1979-81 and materials found dated the construction of the complex to the Copper Age (Culture of Monte Claro). In the 2012 campaign have been explored five of the six small huts of the village, while the sixth (hut no. 2), entirely excavated in previous campaigns, has been the object of limited tests outside. In the hut 1, current excavation has brought to light a floor of rough stones of medium and small size, in which is embedded a small quadrangular stone structure, perhaps a hearth (?).The hut 3, also quadrangular, had a similar hearth made on the floor, and another elliptical structure realized with orthostatic stones partially sunken in a central area of the hut (a grave?). The hut 4, only partially preserved, also shows the presence of a small quadrangular structure of stones sunken below the floor level. The huts 5 and 6, contiguous, showed the presence of a pavement stones arranged with a certain care; in the hut 6 is present a probable posthole in a central position, while in the hut 5 has been brought to light the usual quadrangular stone structure sunken below the floor level. The materials found have confirmed the chronology of the structures in the Monte Claro period, while there are no traces of post-Chalcolithic phases
Soil quality evaluation under agro-silvo-pastoral Mediterranean management systems
According to Franzluebber (2002) the degree of stratification of soil organic C and N, as well as other parameters, with soil depth, expressed as a ratio, can indicate soil quality or soil ecosystem functioning and sustainability under different agricultural management. Stratification ratios > 2 indicate a higher soil quality and contribution to agriculture sustainability. A case study from northeastern Sardinia (Italy) is presented

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
