The article presents some poetic-narratological thoughts on the function of the narrator in the 1615 Quijote. The author claims for Cervantes the invention of the “narrador infidente” (“unreliable narrator”), wrongly atributed to the American novelist Henry James. This ploy consists in guiding the reader through a series of unsuspected clues by employing statements that take advantage of the traditional confidence in the veracity of what is being narrated, but which in reality lead into error. This is a device used increasingly more often in the contemprary novel

Thirty five years ago, the author and J. B. de Avalle-Arce started a written discussion on the Bahrprobe: “Corpse bleeds when murderer touches it”. The moment has arrived to use it as a token of friendship and appreciation. Alternating old and new arguments, well known texts and less known samples, the subject proceeds along a revision of the motif in Spanish Literature and Folklore, including different registers, and an exercise of Comparative Literature as well. A humorous reflection conveys a smile to the reader of this Festschrift. To be continued

Premessa a Per d’Arco Silvio Avalle, «Le forme del canto». Interventi di Lino Leonardi, Pietro G. Beltrami, Maria Sofia Lannutti, Arnaldo Soldani

This collection of essays on medieval poetic metres, edited by Maria Sofia Lannutti following the arrangement conceived by its author, confirms the importance of d'Arco Silvio Avalle's metrical studies. Key issues are the relationship between metrical structure and music in the texts dating back to the origin of romance literatures, the multi-perspective complexity of the approach, and the exemplarity of the methodology used. © 2019 Societa Editrice il Mulino. SIRIO : Integrated Forest Firesmonitoring, detection and decision supportsystem with low cost commercial sensorssuited for complex orography

Forest Fires in our society cause a lot of damage, in particular regarding the economic and environmental landscape. In order to monitor a large portion of territory automatically, with a good cost/performances trade-off, it is necessary to develop new early warning systems. We propose a ground-based system with modular architecture, equipped with low cost commercial sensor. The idea is to develop the software able to manage the forest fires monitoring. The technique is based on Static and Dynamic analysis of chromatic changes between images, tailored for our case of study in a large scale monitoring of vegetation and using different sensors to reduce or eliminate the false alarm rate. Concerning the image geo-referencing tool, the present work describes an innovative projective geo-referencing algorithm able to geo-reference complex orography regions using fixed ground station images. Besides, it does not need the collection of Ground Control Points, which is a very hard task in complex orography environments. In order to make a user oriented product and to help the operator during extinguishing activities, a decision support tool has been developed as well. This work presents the results of one year monitoring campaign conducted in cooperation with the Civil Protection Offices in Sanremo (IM), Ital
