Production, Characterization, and Antioxidant Activity of Fucoxanthin from the Marine Diatom Odontella aurita
The production, characterization, and antioxidant capacity of the carotenoid fucoxanthin from the marine diatom Odontella aurita were investigated. The results showed that low light and nitrogen-replete culture medium enhanced the biosynthesis of fucoxanthin. The maximum biomass concentration of 6.36 g L−1 and maximum fucoxanthin concentration of 18.47 mg g−1 were obtained in cultures grown in a bubble column photobioreactor (Ø 3.0 cm inner diameter), resulting in a fucoxanthin volumetric productivity of 7.96 mg L−1 day−1. A slight reduction in biomass production was observed in the scaling up of O. aurita culture in a flat plate photobioreactor, yet yielded a comparable fucoxanthin volumetric productivity. A rapid method was developed for extraction and purification of fucoxanthin. The purified fucoxanthin was identified as all-trans-fucoxanthin, which exhibited strong antioxidant properties, with the effective concentration for 50% scavenging (EC50) of 1,1-dihpenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical and 2,2′-Azino-bis(3-ethylbenzthiazoline-6-sulfonic acid (ABTS) radical being 0.14 and 0.03 mg mL−1, respectively. Our results suggested that O. aurita can be a natural source of fucoxanthin for human health and nutrition
The K elastic scattering cross section as observed in K K from 3 to 13 GeV/c
The four-body reaction K/sup +/p to K/sup +/ pi /sup -/ Delta /sup ++/ is analysed in a sample of 77300 bubble chamber events of K/sup +/p to K/sup +/ pi /sup -/ pi /sup +/p for beam momenta from 2.5 to 12.6 GeV /c to study the K/sup +/ pi /sup -/ elastic scattering cross section. The relative merits of several analytic continuations to the pion pole are discussed. Maximum likelihood method is used and, for each experiment, fits are performed simultaneously over the whole range of the M(p pi /sup +/), m(K/sup +/ pi /sup -/) and t variables. The K/sup +/ pi /sup -/ cross section is parametrized in terms of the down solution for the s-wave, a p-wave resonating at the K*(890) and a d- wave resonating at the K*(1420). Fitted values are obtained for the four-body cross section, the s-wave contribution to the K/sup +/ pi /sup -/ cross section, and the masses and widths of the K*(890) and K* (1420). (13 refs)
Evolutionary Mode and Functional Divergence of Vertebrate NMDA Receptor Subunit 2 Genes
Background: Ionotropic glutamate receptors in the central nervous system play a major role in numerous brain functions including learning and memory in many vertebrate species. NR2 subunits have been regarded as rate-limiting molecules in controlling the optimal N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor's coincidence-detection property and subsequent learning and memory function across multi-species. However, its evolutionary mode among vertebrate species remains unclear

Neural Network-Based Air–Ground Collaborative Logistics Delivery Path Planning with Dynamic Weather Adaptation
The strategic development of the low-altitude economy requires efficient urban logistics solutions. The existing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) truck delivery system faces severe challenges in dealing with dynamic weather constraints and multi-agent coordination. This article proposes a neural network-based optimisation framework that integrates constrained K-means clustering and a three-stage neural architecture. In this work, a mathematical model for heterogeneous vehicle constraints considering time windows and UAV energy consumption is developed, and it is validated through reference to the Solomon benchmark’s arithmetic examples. Experimental results show that the Truck–Drone Cooperative Traveling Salesman Problem (TDCTSP) model reduces the cost by 21.3% and the delivery time variance by 18.7% compared to the truck-only solution (Truck Traveling Salesman Problem (TTSP)). Improved neural network (INN) algorithms are also superior to the traditional genetic algorithm (GA) and Adaptive Large Neighborhood Search (ALNS) methods in terms of the quality of computed solutions. This research provides an adaptive solution for intelligent low-altitude logistics, which provides a theoretical basis and practical tools for the development of urban air traffic under environmental uncertainty
