Abstract
The purposes of this study were to understand and analyze the contents and the status of the development of 398 master’s theses and their 26803 references in sport management during 1993-2003 in Taiwan. The Content Analysis was used as the study’s main research method, with the assistance of the Citation Analysis. The instrument “content analysis checklist of master’s theses in sport management in Taiwan” was used to collect data. The data was statistically analyzed in terms of Frequency Distribution and Percentage, Chi-square. The results showed as the followings:
1.The total number of master’s theses in sport management has been growing significantly since 1998. The total number of master’s theses in sport management in different areas has been in unbalanced distribution. There were six major universities playing the key roles in terms of sport management research.
2.The main three research topics of the master’s theses were Sport Marketing Management(Sponsorship included), Sport Management, Organization and Leadership, Sport Leisure Management.
3.There was no significant correlation found among master’s theses in different years and research topics. The significant correlations were found between these master’s theses were correlations among research purposes, research areas, research instruments, and computerize statistical software.
4.There was no significant correlation found among master’s theses in different areas, research purposes, research areas, research instruments, and computerize statistical software. The significant correlations were found between these master’s theses and their respective research topics, and research instruments.
5.The quantity of references has been increasing. The languages of the references were mainly Chinese and English. Most of the references were published between the year of 1991 and 2003. The main types of the references were books and journals. The most cited English author was Chelladurai, P., and the Chinese counterpart was Ministry of Education(Taiwan).
This study provides the research information and analysis of Master’s Theses in Sport Management in Taiwan during recent 10 years, and expects the increasing application of qualitative research method in sport management. It would be combined together between Sport Marketing Management and Sport Leisure Management to create benefit for organization, and it would be a future trend.

Optimal allocation of runs in a simulation metamodel with several independent variables.
Cheng and Kleijnen (Oper. Res. 47(5) (1999) 762) propose a very general regression metamodel for modelling the output of a queuing system. Its main limitations are that the regression function is based on a polynomial and that it can use only one independent variable. These limitations are removed here. We derive an explicit formula for the optimal way of assigning simulation runs to the different design points
On Semialgebraic Range Reporting
Semialgebraic range searching, arguably the most general version of range searching, is a fundamental problem in computational geometry. In the problem, we are to preprocess a set of points in ℝ^D such that the subset of points inside a semialgebraic region described by a constant number of polynomial inequalities of degree Δ can be found efficiently.
Relatively recently, several major advances were made on this problem. Using algebraic techniques, "near-linear space" data structures [Agarwal et al., 2013; Matoušek and Patáková, 2015] with almost optimal query time of Q(n) = O(n^{1-1/D+o(1)}) were obtained. For "fast query" data structures (i.e., when Q(n) = n^{o(1)}), it was conjectured that a similar improvement is possible, i.e., it is possible to achieve space S(n) = O(n^{D+o(1)}). The conjecture was refuted very recently by Afshani and Cheng [Afshani and Cheng, 2021]. In the plane, i.e., D = 2, they proved that S(n) = Ω(n^{Δ+1 - o(1)}/Q(n)^{(Δ+3)Δ/2}) which shows Ω(n^{Δ+1-o(1)}) space is needed for Q(n) = n^{o(1)}. While this refutes the conjecture, it still leaves a number of unresolved issues: the lower bound only works in 2D and for fast queries, and neither the exponent of n or Q(n) seem to be tight even for D = 2, as the best known upper bounds have S(n) = O(n^{m+o(1)}/Q(n)^{(m-1)D/(D-1)}) where m = binom(D+Δ,D)-1 = Ω(Δ^D) is the maximum number of parameters to define a monic degree-Δ D-variate polynomial, for any constant dimension D and degree Δ.
In this paper, we resolve two of the issues: we prove a lower bound in D-dimensions, for constant D, and show that when the query time is n^{o(1)}+O(k), the space usage is Ω(n^{m-o(1)}), which almost matches the Õ(n^{m}) upper bound and essentially closes the problem for the fast-query case, as far as the exponent of n is considered in the pointer machine model. When considering the exponent of Q(n), we show that the analysis in [Afshani and Cheng, 2021] is tight for D = 2, by presenting matching upper bounds for uniform random point sets. This shows either the existing upper bounds can be improved or to obtain better lower bounds a new fundamentally different input set needs to be constructed

Lower Bounds for Intersection Reporting Among Flat Objects
Recently, Ezra and Sharir [Esther Ezra and Micha Sharir, 2022] showed an O(n^{3/2+σ}) space and O(n^{1/2+σ}) query time data structure for ray shooting among triangles in ℝ³. This improves the upper bound given by the classical S(n)Q(n)⁴ = O(n^{4+σ}) space-time tradeoff for the first time in almost 25 years and in fact lies on the tradeoff curve of S(n)Q(n)³ = O(n^{3+σ}). However, it seems difficult to apply their techniques beyond this specific space and time combination. This pheonomenon appears persistently in almost all recent advances of flat object intersection searching, e.g., line-tetrahedron intersection in ℝ⁴ [Esther Ezra and Micha Sharir, 2022], triangle-triangle intersection in ℝ⁴ [Esther Ezra and Micha Sharir, 2022], or even among flat semialgebraic objects [Agarwal et al., 2022].
We give a timely explanation to this phenomenon from a lower bound perspective. We prove that given a set of (d-1)-dimensional simplicies in ℝ^d, any data structure that can report all intersections with a query line in small (n^o(1)) query time must use Ω(n^{2(d-1)-o(1)}) space. This dashes the hope of any significant improvement to the tradeoff curves for small query time and almost matches the classical upper bound. We also obtain an almost matching space lower bound of Ω(n^{6-o(1)}) for triangle-triangle intersection reporting in ℝ⁴ when the query time is small. Along the way, we further develop the previous lower bound techniques by Afshani and Cheng [Afshani and Cheng, 2021; Afshani and Cheng, 2022]

ABSTRACT Putra, Adhitya Yuwana. 2012. Study about Varieties of Ornamental Building in Cheng Hoo Mosque in Pandaan District, Pasuruan, East Java. Essay, Department of Art and Design, State University of Malang. Supervisor (1) Drs. H.Mistaram, M. Pd, Ph. D. Supervisor (2) Drs. Anak Agung Rai Airmbawa, M. Sn. Keywords: decorative, building, mosque. Existency of Cheng Hoo Mosque in Pandaan are inspired by the atititude of Admiral Cheng Hoo who respected the differences of the religions and beliefs. Based on the author’s observations in Masjid Cheng Hoo Pandaan, there are decorative art combinations of Islamic and Chinese. Finally, the author suggest to Moslems in Indonesia to promote peace and tolerance in touch with people of other faiths because it is commanded in the Qur'an. The problems that examined in this essay are: 1. What is the background of the decorative usage in Cheng Hoo Mosque? 2. What are the ornamental motifs in Cheng Hoo Mosque? 3. How about the placement of the decorative motifs? To answer these problems, the author use some approaches, such us: Semiotics approach, which refers to the relationship between sign and referent. Historical approach, is looking for the origin of the decorative usage in Cheng Hoo Mosque in Pandaan. Structuralism approach, is seeing the changes in the mosque parts that are adjusted each other. According to those problems, the author try to find some sources or files in the both written or oral form. The conclusion of this paper is, Cheng Hoo Mosque in Pandaan is a form of building that have Chinese architecture. In the form of the mosque, there are also several other elements between Islam and China. The basic form of Cheng Hoo Mosque in Pandaan is similar with temples that is usually found in domestic China and serve as a place of religious worship for people who are Confucians.
A Study on Luo Zhi Cheng\ue2s Historical narrative poems
Luo Zhi Cheng is an important poet in the field of Taiwanese modern poetry, who is known for distinctive linguistic style and intense creative consciousness that are respected. Based on his powerful imagination and flourishing creativity as two primary advantages, through the mediation of poetry, prose, remarks, and commentaries, he maximally amplifies the implication of literature, and thereby composes himself and enriches the character. Distinguished from the majority of researchers focusing on Luo\ue2s lyric works, this study particularly found a writing context of \ue2avoidance of lyric sensibility\ue2 in Luo\ue2s poems, that is, his series of works historical themes in the form of long poems utilizing narrative skills to exhibit the remarkable consistency between the internality and the externality of the author.
\ue3\ue3This study conducted a comparative investigation of Luo\ue2s poetry work (The Book of Zhuzi) and prose works (Austral Court\ue2s Notandum and The Initiation of Civilization) to build a relatively more multi-faceted \ue2author\ue2s image of Luo Zhi Cheng\ue2 according to the writing of works of historical themes. Using the methodology of narratology, I departed from the internality of the text (the collection of poems) to identify how Luo forms the ideal spectrum of character by shaping historical persons; and meanwhile, I equally departed from the collections of prose to grasp the external information of the texts, and thereby clarified that Luo may treat \ue2writing, individual, and society\ue2 as a process of self-fulfillment. It is the two corresponding identities \ue2poet\ue2 and \ue2the intellectual\ue2 that are the mechanism of his constructing self-justification. Such investigation of the internality and the externality of text confirmed the complex relationships of the sustained \ue2opposition,\ue2 \ue2coexistence,\ue2 and \ue2conflict\ue2 between Luo and his works of historical themes
