The Last Angry Man: Benjamin Robbins Curtis and the \u3cem\u3eDred Scott\u3c/em\u3e Case
The dissenting opinion of Justice Benjamin Robbins Curtis in Dred Scott has generally received lavish praise from commentators. Curtis is typically praised not only for his substantive conclusions, but also for his seemingly dispassionate analysis of the legal issues presented by the case. In many respects, this praise is well-deserved; Curtis\u27s discussions of the issues of slavery in the territories and citizenship for free blacks are models of legal reasoning. However, a close analysis of other aspects of his opinion reveals that Curtis\u27s analysis was at times distorted by his anger with the actions of Chief Justice Taney and other members of the Dred Scott majority

Streams (interactive character by Tomie Hahn/Curtis Bahn): There is a dream state where memories become intertwined with the sensuality of the present. In recollecting streams, memories of places, bodies of water and land, technology, the flow of information, transmission, and liquid states arise. These memories, drawn from the body, awaken as gesture and sound. Through technology, this piece toys with the ephemeral quality of sound and the physical memory of time, sonic space, and sensory experience.Performance at the B.
