Miłość w czasach wojny w nowelach Federica De Roberta: «La Cocotte» i «L’Ultimo Voto»
No full textFederico De Roberto, the author of the "Viceroys" known and appreciated by contemporary readers, dedicates a significant part of his texts to "love case studies". Love is not only the subject of his prose, but also the subject of tractates, thanks to which the author intends to find out the "truth" about feelings. In his war short stories, the author returns to the topic, “La Cocotte” and “L’Ultimo Voto” are studies of love during the First World War. The aim of the article is to analyze the role of literary space and characters in depicting the conflict between love for a woman and patriotic feelings. Federico De Roberto (1861–1927), autore dei «Viceré», è uno dei più importanti narratori siciliani. Nei primi anni della sua attività letteraria il riconoscimento da parte degli autori veristi garantisce al giovane scrittore una certa attenzione dei lettori. Col passare del tempo, però, egli viene considerato un epigono dei veristi, un letterato ottocentesco, le cui opere non attingono alle maggiori tendenze letterarie del primo Novecento. Non condivide l’interesse per i movimenti rinnovatori della letteratura italiana dell’epoca, tra cui i futuristi e la loro fascinazione per la modernità e la guerra; lo scrittore catanese assume una posizione antitetica nei loro confronti e così, all’indomani dello scoppio della Prima Guerra Mondiale, si dichiara a favore dell’anti-interventismo.Federico De Roberto, autor znanych i docenianych przez współczesnych czytelników „Wicekrólów”, znaczną część swoich tekstów poświęcił “studiom przypadków miłosnych”. Miłość jest tematem nie tylko prozy, ale również przedmiotem traktatów, dzięki, którym autor ma zamiar dotrzeć do „prawdy” o uczuciach. W opowiadaniach wojennych autor powraca do tych poszukiwań, «La Cocotte» i «L’Ultimo Voto» to studia miłości w czasach Pierwszej Wojny Światowej. Materia literacka, przestrzeń i bohaterowie, służy do zobrazowania konfliktu między miłością do kobiety, a uczuciami patriotycznymi

No full textThis essay is about short story and later play “Rustic Chivalry” (“Cavalleria rusticana”), by Giovanni Verga, one of the greatest representatives of Italian literary realism (verismo). The essay analyzes also its first film adaptations of 1916, which was a huge success.Cavalleria rusticana viene messa in scena, dalla Compagnia di Cesare Rossi, al «Teatro Carignano» di Torino il 14 gennaio 1884 per l’interpretazione di Eleonora Duse (Santuzza), Flavio Andò (Turiddu), Tebaldo Checchi (compare Alfio) e dello stesso scettico Rossi che paventando un insuccesso si è riservato il ruolo minore di zio Brasi. Ed è un trionfo. Messa in scena su cui non poco ha influito la mediazione di Giuseppe (Pin per gli amici) Giacosa, a cui l’autore avrebbe dedicato l’edizione a stampa, che sulla «Gazzetta Piemontese» del 13 gennaio scriveva: «La novità del Verga non consiste nel fare di più ma, forse, nel fare di meno, certo nel fare diversamente». Interesująca pod względem tematycznym “Cavalleria rusticana” Giovanniego Vergi z 1887 roku, jednego z najwybitniejszych przedstawicieli włoskiego weryzmu-naturalizmu, jest egzemplifikacją studium historyczno-komparatystycznego; dotyczy ono reprezentacji jednoaktówki w teatrach Włoch i Europy jako melodramatu w reżyserii Pietro Mascagnego i pierwszej ekranizacji kinowej w 1916 roku przez G. T. Tozzettiego i G. Menasciego, która odniosła ogromny sukces

No full textThe author shares his reflections on state of art in housing and urban planning, deficiencies, expectations and possibilities in the Sahel region of Africa. He notices, that the housing problem in Africa is one of the challenges, which should be solved in order to recover life dignity of African people and secure their rights to traditional family life in acceptable conditions. The paper describes the studies on the typical dispersed urban structures and the need to foster this type of settlement structure and proposals of introduction of new on light steel frame housing system in the area of Sahel, combining the traditional way of building houses with modern technology. The particularly analysed case, is the housing problem in the Republic of Chad. The author presents the basic discussion on this topic and his architectural proposals. Unfortunately, the gap between the needs and the financial feasibility of housing construction in this area, makes this project already at the starting point extremely difficult to be realized without external subventions.Problem mieszkaniowy w Afryce jest jednym z wyzwań, które należy rozwiązać, aby Afrykanie mogli odzyskać godność życiową i zabezpieczyć swoje prawa do tradycyjnego życia rodzinnego w akceptowalnych warunkach. W artykule opisano badania nad typowymi rozproszonymi strukturami miejskimi i potrzebą wspierania tego typu struktur osadniczych oraz propozycji wprowadzenia nowego systemu konstrukcji domów, opartym na lekkim szkielecie stalowym, łączącym tradycyjny sposób budowania domów z nowoczesną technologią. Przypadkiem szczególnie analizowanym jest problem mieszkaniowy w Republice Czadu. Autor przedstawia podstawową dyskusję na ten temat i swoje propozycje architektoniczne. Niestety luka między potrzebami mieszkaniowymi w Czadzie a finansową wykonalnością budownictwa mieszkaniowego w tym obszarze sprawia, że projekt ten, już w punkcie wyjścia, jest niezwykle trudny do realizacji bez uzyskania zewnętrznych dotacji

No full textThe author refers to the modern stage recitation technique offering a new typology of characters: Sik-Sik, or the magro-mago, the thin magus in a black top hat, with a white face, dressed in black, who establishes direct contact with the audience using voice modulation, mimics, pantomime and other recitation elements. Sik-Sik becomes a model for other prominent figures of the Italian drama, such as Pirandello or Fo.Sik Sik l’artefice mago viene inserito dal suo autore nelle Cantate dei giorni pari. Delamination buckling of a curved composite beam subjected to a closing bending moment
No full textThe snap buckling case in a curved composite beam under a closing bending moment is dealt with. A theoretical approach is developed for the non-linear problem of delamination buckling which is likely to occur in curved composite structures. The approach is based on large deflection characterisation of a curved beam, coupled with fracture mechanics concepts. The general solution is applied to analyse a special case in which delamination occurs very close to inner surface of the beam and snap buckling happens in this delaminated thin layer. The effect of the arc angle of delamination crack on the critical load is also studied

Of great importance here is the fact that the author used in this work new archives from the Archives of German Liberalism in Gummersbach. This enabled him to present a new assessment of the FDP's impact on the eastern policy of the Federal Republic of Germany
