ABSTRACT In this text, which appears in the exhibition on Jacques Polieri catalog at the National Library of France, Corvin develops an analysis of the director and set designer’s trajectory from the productions he staged on Ionesco and Tardieu’s plays in the 1950s and 1960s, also including theatrical creations inspired by the avant-garde abstract art. Corvin analyzed the unusual architecture proposed on the concept of “the to- tal movement theater” which was based on the adoption of mechanical devices for the theatrical spaces he created. Since the 1980s, Polieri developed projects employing the technology of new media in inter- continental shows, with simultaneous online broadcast, many years before the introduction of Internet. For Corvin, Polieri broadens the concept of scenography converting it into “writing and modulation of space”. Uniting aesthetics and techniques, Polieri has always been far ahead of his time. Pour une réception « musicale » du théâtre contemporain

By way of stage writing, theatre has reached it visual specificity. Its acoustic specificity was also obtained, during the classical era, by giving to dramatic texts a musical look, thanks to figures of speech. Now the actor’s voice, producing breath and sounds, is matter and base from which to create a new dramatic language (for example in the Novarina’s plays) is possible. Pathos and the Mundane in the Symbolic Space of 1956 Revolution: the Case of Corvin-passage, Budapest

    No full text
The Corvin passage is one of the most important symbolic spaces of 1956 revolution in Hungary. The majority of armed conflicts took place in Budapest, where the largest resistance group had to battle against Soviet tanks in the neighbourhood of the Corvin Passage. This study aims to highlight the fact that, even though a general shift has taken place from the pre-1990 policy to ‘forget’ to today’s established remembrance practices, the Corvin Passage still does not have a prominent position as a major historic site. Our research is based on a study of relevant national and international literature, on an analysis of documents relating to tourism site management, on historical sources related to the Corvin Passage, and on a content analysis of guide-books and websites. The authors would tribute to 70 anniversary of treading out of Hungarian revolution and war of independence with this paper

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
