    Zusammenfassung Hintergrund Psychotherapie digitalisiert sich. Die Studie untersuchte Nutzungsverhalten und Akzeptanz von digitalen Psychotherapie-Interventionen bei ambulant tätigen PsychotherapeutInnen und PatientInnen. Methode 269 TherapeutInnen und 157 PatientInnen beantworteten in einer Online-Befragung Fragen zur Nutzung und Zufriedenheit von digitalen Psychotherapie-Interventionen (Videotherapie, Apps, Virtuelle Realität, sensorbasierter Psychotherapie), Technikaffinität, Technologieakzeptanz, digitaler Therapie-Beziehung. Ergebnisse Alle Teilnehmenden waren zufrieden mit der Videotherapie, gaben an Apps, VR, etc. wenig zu nutzen. PatientInnen waren offener, technikaffiner, fühlten sich im Vergleich zu TherapeutInnen kompetenter bei der Nutzung. PsychotherapeutInnen bewertet die digitale therapeutische Beziehung besser als PatientInnen. Diskussion In der ambulanten Versorgung ist der Einsatz von digitalen Technologien in der Psychotherapie noch nicht etabliert. Akzeptanzfördernde Maßnahmen sind notwendig, um aktuelle Barrieren der Nutzung abzubauen

    Associations between cognitive performance and sigma power during sleep in children with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder, healthy children, and healthy adults

    Sigma power during sleep is associated with cognitive abilities in healthy humans. We examined the relationship between sigma power in sleep EEG and intelligence and alertness in schoolchildren with ADHD (n = 17) in comparison to mentally healthy children (n = 16) and adults (n = 23). We observed a positive correlation between sigma power in sleep stage 2 and IQ in healthy adults but a negative correlation in children with ADHD. Furthermore, children with ADHD showed slower reaction times in alertness testing than both control groups. In contrast, only healthy children displayed a positive correlation between sigma power and reaction times. These data suggest that the associations between sigma power and cognitive performance underlie distinct developmental processes. A negative association between IQ and sigma power indicates a disturbed function of sleep in cognitive functions in ADHD, whereas the function of sleep appears to be matured early in case of motor-related alertness performance.</div

    Acceptance of a sensor-based online psychotherapy for adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder (SSTeP-KiZ)

    Background and aim E-mental health interventions with use of cognitive behavioral therapy methods and therapist contact via video have been well established in their effectiveness for various mental illnesses. With the help of sensors worn on the body, relevant contextual information can be made visible. In the SSTeP-KiZ study, the feasibility of a multimodal sensor system was tested, which was used in video-based psychotherapy for adolescents with obsessive-compulsive disorder during therapy sessions in the home environment. The present study investigated the acceptance and satisfaction of participating patients and families with the novel sensor-based therapy approach. Material and methods A mixed study design with focus groups was used. In a quantitative longitudinal study, personality characteristics of the study participants and families of the SSTeP-KiZ study were collected. Following the main study, a total of five focus group interviews were conducted with patients, parents, therapists to determine satisfaction and acceptance of the sensor technology. The study was part of the main SSTeP-KiZ study registered by ClinicalTrails.gov (NCT05291611) and used the COREQ-Checklist. Results The participants in the focus groups indicated a high level of satisfaction with the therapy method and would recommend the treatment to friends 100% of the time. One factor to be modified appears to be the personal contact design, particularly at the beginning of the therapy. Personality characteristics such as affinity for technology or acceptance of technology were not dependent on the patient's age or gender. Discussion The present results indicate that the sensor-based video therapy approach was accepted by patients and families and that the sensor system was experienced as practicable and supportive. To improve the use of sensor technology in psychotherapy further and to adapt the sensor system optimally to the needs of patients, further research involving users in the sense of participatory research is necessary.     Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed.     Psychotherapy 2.0 - Application context and effectiveness of sensor technology in psychotherapy with children and adolescents: A systematic review

    Background: E-mental health applications have been increasingly used in the psychotherapeutic care of patients for several years. State-of-the-art sensor technology could be used to determine digital biomarkers for the diagnosis of mental disorders. Furthermore, by integrating sensors into treatment, relevant contextual information (e.g. field of gaze, stress levels) could be made transparent and improve the treatment of people with mental disorders. An overview of studies on this approach would be useful to provide information about the current status quo. Methods: A systematic review of the use of sensor technology in psychotherapy for children and adolescents was conducted with the aim of investigating the use and effectiveness of sensory technology in psychotherapy treatment. Five databases were searched for studies ranging from 2000 to 2023. The study was registered by PROSPERO (CRD42023374219), conducted according to Cochrane recommendations and used the PRISMA reporting guideline. Results: Of the 38.560 hits in the search, only 10 publications met the inclusion criteria, including 3 RCTs and 7 pilot studies with a total of 257 subjects. The study population consisted of children and adolescents aged 6 to 19 years with mental disorders such as OCD, anxiety disorders, PTSD, anorexia nervosa and autistic behavior. The psychotherapy methods investigated were mostly cognitive behavioral therapy (face-to-face contact) with the treatment method of exposure for various disorders. In most cases, ECG, EDA, eye-tracking and movement sensors were used to measure vital parameters. The heterogeneous studies illustrate a variety of potential useful applications of sensor technology in psychotherapy for adolescents. In some studies, the sensors are implemented in a feasible approach to treatment. Conclusion: Sensors might enrich psychotherapy in different application contexts.However, so far there is still a lack of further randomized controlled clinical studies that provide reliable findings on the effectiveness of sensory therapy in psychotherapy for children and adolescents.     Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     E-Mental-Health aftercare for children and adolescents after partial or full inpatient psychiatric hospitalization: study protocol of the randomized controlled DigiPuR trial

    BACKGROUND: During reintegration to daily school life following psychiatric hospitalization, children and adolescents are confronted with various challenges and are at risk for rehospitalization. Tailored post-discharge services could support a successful readjustment and accompany the high-risk transition period after discharge. The study DigiPuR (“Digital gestützte Psychotherapie und Reintegration,” digitally supported psychotherapy and reintegration) aims to establish and to evaluate an innovative digital aftercare program to alleviate challenges during reintegration and improve cross-sectoral care. METHODS: DigiPuR is a randomized controlled trial comparing a digital aftercare service with regular aftercare (TAU) (planned N = 150, 25 children/adolescents, 25 parents, and 25 teachers in each group). In the intervention group, direct communication via secure and regular video calls until 8 weeks after discharge and a secure messenger system between the hospital, family, and school, as well as, if needed, external support systems, are established. A longitudinal pre-post-follow-up assessment at admission, discharge, and 8, 24, and 36 weeks after discharge takes place supplemented by a daily smartphone-based ambulatory assessment from a triadic perspective of patients, parents, and teachers. Primary outcomes include whether participants in the intervention group have fewer readmissions and higher treatment satisfaction and health-related quality of life as well as lower symptom severity than participants in the control group. DISCUSSION: The present study is essential to address the cross-sectoral challenges associated with reintegration into daily (school) life following child and adolescent psychiatric hospitalization and to determine possible needed adaptations in partial or full inpatient settings. If applicability and efficacy of the aftercare service can be demonstrated, integration into regular care will be sought. TRIAL REGISTRATION: ClinicalTrials.govNCT04986228.     Tübinger Training for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TüTASS): a structured group intervention on self-perception and social skills of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)

    Abstract In autism spectrum disorders (ASD), social communication and stereotypical behaviour patterns affect all areas of life, and can result in a decrease of its quality. Previous research has shown promising results for the social skills of groups of children with ASD. Furthermore, a pilot study of the Tübingen Group Training for Autism Spectrum Disorders (TüTASS) has demonstrated that mindfulness-based elements achieve additional positive effects. To build on these findings, the TüTASS training was adapted and expanded. Indeed, the TüTASS currently includes 20 90-min appointments starting with the basic skills of emotions, body, and communication, which are then transferred to personal, family, peer, and school spheres. The appointments have a fixed, consistent structure and each includes a body awareness exercise. In this study, we evaluated the TÜTASS with 27 children with ASD. The results showed improvements in pre-post comparison in behaviours associated with autism, as well as in externalising and internalising behaviours as assessed by parent reports, participant self-reports, and independent raters in participating children. Furthermore, the perceived parent burden in relation to their children decreased, whereas the participants’ self-rated quality of life increased. Overall, both the participants and their parents rated the TüTASS very positively in rating sheets and in free feedback. If replicated in larger controlled trials, TÜTASS training might be a useful treatment tool for groups of children with ASD
