No full textGiuseppe Colombo, coordinator of "The Mercy and his works", the initiative of the Catholic University of the Sacred Heart for the Jubilee Year 2015, in this essay purifies the concept of "mercy" from current banalities and returns it its meaningful theological and anthropological status: "mercy" is the name of God and the practice of mercy perfects human nature. Mercy enhances human creative force in an existential context: ethical and artistic-literary, political and legal, economic, etc. Firstly " mercy "should be read as" name of God "(hence the" M "is capitalized) and " his works" show what God does for us men. Only after that we can understand "the mercy (now with the" m ") and his works" as our commitment in response to the love of God, spiritual and corporal works of mercy. The two moments do not lie on a simple chronological timeline, but are interconnected in a relationship of dialogue, which is made possible by the existence of the latter into the former. Precisely, human mercy is possible only in the event that the Mercy of God is at the center of history and of the universe. Not as an abstract idea to which we refer, but as a concrete person to be encountered here and now, according to the logic of "christocentrism objective " as explained by the Card. Giacomo Biffi

No full textGiuseppe Colombo ha coordinato la Libera iniziativa d’Ateneo “La Cattolica, giovani e generazioni”, alla quale hanno partecipato professori e studenti di tutte le Sedi e le Facoltà dell’Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
Ha ideato e curato il volume che raccoglie il lavoro di due anni (2017-2018).
La narrazione delle “buone pratiche” dell’Ateneo è accompagnata da un giudizio sulla condizione giovanile e sul rapporto educativo.
Una vasta documentazione che riguarda accoglienza e servizi, iniziative musicali, teatrali e delle arti visive; didattica, ricerca, terzo settore, volontariato.Giuseppe Colombo coordinated the academic work “La Cattolica, Giovani e generazioni”, which saw the cooperation of lecturers and students from all campuses and courses of the Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore.
He designed and edited the volume that collects the work of two years (2017-2018).
The description of the best practices of the University is paired with a broader assessment of the condition of young generations and of the learning relationship.

No full textIl Trittico nuziale è composto da tre drammi d’amore sponsale: Romeo e Giulietta di W. Shakespeare, I promessi sposi di A. Manzoni e L’osteria volante di G.K. Chesterton.
Sorprendentemente Giuseppe Colombo, in questo volume dedicato ai Promessi sposi, è tanto fedele alla lettera del romanzo, quanto creativo nel portare alla luce il ‘non scritto’ di Manzoni. Così, a esempio, consacra l’intera prima parte alla ‘ricostruzione’ di un solo capitolo del romanzo: il quarto, perché lì, e non nei primi tre, ha inizio, con un atto di misericordia di un uomo in fin di vita – sorpresa nella sorpresa! –, quello che lui chiama “il poema del perdono”. Un duello, Lodovico ferisce a morte il ‘signor tale’ ed è da lui perdonato, si converte, diventa fra Cristoforo, il ‘portatore di Cristo’, riceve dal fratello del morto ‘il pane del perdono’, povero ma eloquente simbolo eucaristico.
Nella seconda parte di questo volume si vedrà come Cristoforo sia l’alfa e l’omega della storia dei due promessi sposi: lui si prende cura di Renzo e Lucia, lui li educa al matrimonio; lui, roso dalla peste, nel lazzeretto sigilla felicemente la travagliata storia del loro fidanzamento e a loro consegna ‘il pane del perdono’.
Eucaristia-sacerdozio-matrimonio-famiglia: una mirabile catena d’amore, icona della vita buona che trova il suo compimento non su questa terra, ma in cielo. Una lettura contro corrente, oggi politicamente scorretta.Il Trittico nuziale ( The wedding triptych) is composed of three plays of spousal love: Romeo and Juliet by W. Shakespeare, I promessi sposi by A. Manzoni and The flying tavern by G.K. Chesterton.
Surprisingly, Giuseppe Colombo, in this volume dedicated to the Betrothed, is as faithful to the letter of the novel as he is creative in bringing to light the 'unwritten' of Manzoni. Thus, for example, he consecrates the entire first part to the 'reconstruction' of a single chapter of the novel: the fourth, because there, and not in the first three, it begins, with an act of mercy on a dying man - surprise in surprise! -, what he calls "the poem of forgiveness". A duel, Lodovico mortally wounds the 'gentleman so' and is forgiven by him, converts, becomes fra Cristoforo, the 'bearer of Christ', receives from the brother of the dead 'the bread of forgiveness', poor but eloquent Eucharistic symbol.
In the second part of this volume we will see how Christopher is the alpha and the omega of the story of the two betrothed: he takes care of Renzo and Lucia, he educates them for marriage; he, consumed by the plague, happily seals the troubled story of their engagement in the hospital and gives them the 'bread of forgiveness'.

There are three main issues: the supernatural, the creation and the sequence of (original) sin / justification, that he was able to reread in a Christocentric way. The article also points out the evolution of his research and the unresolved questions. With this study the review La Scuola Cattolica aims to keep grateful memory of Msgr.
