Alper Yıkıcı (MEF Author)In this paper, a 2D finite volume analysis methodology was used to predict temperature development within three different bridge pier caps. MATLAB® was employed to generate a program that solves the governing heat transfer equation where development of thermo-physical concrete properties was defined as a function of degree of hydration. The rate of heat generation was obtained experimentally via adiabatic calorimetry and the activation energy was determined following the ASTM C 1074 procedure to implement equivalent age concept. 2D finite volume analysis results were presented in comparison with the recorded concrete temperatures from the field. Accordingly, temperature time histories at the center and the side surface of the bridge pier caps were predicted reasonably well using the concrete mixture information and the measured concrete hydration properties.WOS:0005502533000742-s2.0-85134814600Conference Proceedings Citation Index- ScienceProceedings PaperHaziranYÖK - 2017-1

Religious educational institutions today are increasingly rampant in the community, this shows the high need and enthusiasm of the community for religious education for their children. This requires educational institutions to be more innovative in learning to read and tahsin the Qur'an in students. Departing from this phenomenon, the author tried to conduct a research entitled The Application of the Ali Method in Learning to Read and Tahsin Al-Qur'an in Students at TPQ Rumah Qur'an Az-Zahrah Bulakan, Sukoharjo. The purpose of this study is to understand how the Ali Method is applied in learning to read and tahsin Al-Qur'an in students and identify factors that support and hinder the learning process of reading and tahsin Al-Qur'an in students at TPQ Rumah Qur'an Az-Zahrah Bulakan, Sukoharjo. This research is a type of field research using a qualitative phenomenological approach. Data sources were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation. Furthermore, the collected data is analyzed by the stages of data reduction, data presentation, conclusion drawing and verification. This research obtained the results that the application of Ali's method in learning at TPQ Rumah Qur'an Az-Zahrah Bulakan, made it easier for students to carry out learning to read and tahsin the Qur'an. Because through Ali's method they are facilitated in learning and they have a teacher/role model who is qualified in reading and tahsin the Qur'an. The supporting factors in learning to read and tahsin Al-Qur'an at TPQ Rumah Qur'an Az-Zahrah Bulakan are motivation; the intelligence or ability of the student; and manners or morals in seeking knowledge and reading the Qur'an. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are students who are lazy to study; a less supportive student environment; and motivation or support from the student's parents

Study of tip clearance effects in centrifugal fans with unshrouded impellers using computational fluid dynamics

    No full text
Performance of centrifugal fans with unshrouded impellers strongly depends upon complex configuration of the asymmetrical flowfield in the axial direction, which is highly unsteady. The flowfield, in turn, is considerably affected by the design parameters of both scroll and impeller geometry, for which tip clearance is of particular interest. This article presents a three-dimensional computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulation of the flowfield in three different unshrouded centrifugal fan impellers with varying tip clearances. A commercial CFD code, namely, Fluent V6.2.16 with a k-epsilon two-equation turbulence model was utilized in order to study the effects of tip clearance on the overall performance of each fan with the tip clearances ranging from 5 to 30 mm. The numerical results were compared with the experimental data reported previously in the literature by the present author and his colleagues, and excellent agreements were observed for each fan

Novel Probabilistic Frameworks for Author-Level Topic Modeling

    No full text
The increasing complexity of textual data in modern applications, such as social media and academic literature analysis, needs improved topic modeling techniques that capture sparsity, variability, and nuanced author-topic relationships. Because of their rigorous assumptions and inadequate adaptability in representing various data, traditional models generally fail to address these shortcomings. We present two novel probabilistic models, Author Dirichlet Multinomial Allocation with Generalized Distribution (ADMAGD) and Author Beta-Liouville Multinomial Allocation (ABLiMA) to overcome these drawbacks while strengthening the state of author-specific topic modeling. To depict complex author-topic relationships, ADMAGD incorporates the Generalized Dirichlet distribution. For datasets with uneven or absent topic representations, ABLiMA uses the Beta-Liouville distribution to adjust for topic distribution variability and sparsity. By comparing these models to common datasets like the NIPS and 20 Newsgroups datasets, the research presented here demonstrates how well these models manage sparsity, capture complex theme preferences, and generate coherent subjects. The results show that the models can be applied to many situations. Coherence measure and author-topic relationship visualizations further validate their interpretability and usefulness

A certificate is a letter made as a token of recognition to someone for having passed a certain competency test. The tahsin Education and Training Institute (LPPT) Majelis Tafsir Al-Qur’an (MTA) has one of the competency programs for the promotion exam or called marhalah in the tahsin exam. The certificate will be issued by the LPPT MTA if a person has reached the predetermined standards. The purpose of making this website is that LPPT MTA does not yet have a web that is Used to automatically generate certificates and is equipped with a QR Code and minimizes possible fraud. This study the authors use the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) method with the waterfall method. The tests carried out by the the author use black box testing to ensure the quality of the system that is made to run properly. Testing the system results that all functions are running well. QR Code testing has the results that the QR Code can be read from 10cm to 30 cm,but cannot be read within 5 cm because the distance is too close, and testing the QR Code form if it is covered in a field, then the QR Code cannot be read. The last test conducted the SUS questionnaire usability test to 20 respondents getting a value of 76,125 which means that the value gets a good rating. In this study, it can be concluded that in order to minimize fraud committed by other parties on behalf of the LPPT MTA in the marhalah exam, QR Code is added to the tahsin certificate to test the authenticity of the issued certificate
