A likely solution to meet the NO x limit is to use a combination of EGR and SCR. Combining these two technologies poses new challenges and possibilities when it comes to optimization and calibration

Title: Making learning visible in a preschool setting- A qualitative study of how teachers work and evaluate how children’s learning can be visualized Term: Autumn 2015 Author: Emelie Persson and Annelie Westerlund Mentor: Maria Rosén The objective of this study is to examine how two departments at a preschool work specifically to visualize children’s learning processes, both from a Child Perspective and from the Children's Perspective. The purpose is to investigate questions concerning how teachers follow up and visualize the children’s learning process and how preschool teachers evaluate to what extent children's learning processes should be made visible. The study is qualitative and ethnographically inspired. We have conducted participating observations in order to examine how teachers follow up and visualize children’s learning processes. In addition to this we have made unstructured interviews to examine how preschool teachers evaluate how children's learning processes are visualized. The theoretical starting point we used is Dewey’s Pragmatism which is based on the assumption that children's learning emerge out of their own experiences and interests. The result shows that the pre-school teachers follow up and visualize the children's learning processes in different ways. They incorporate different steps of the process and they structure the environment by having materials easily accessible to the children in order to make learning processes based on children’s interests possible. The teachers act as role models when it comes to vocal expression and through active dialogues they create opportunities for the children to reflect on what they’ve learnt. The teachers also actively work to allow the children to express their thoughts and opinions, and to integrate these into the learning process. The most prominent result of the study showed that the teachers’ interaction with the children were shown by their attendance, responsiveness, commitment, as well as to their showing an interest in the children’s many different worlds of experiences. Keywords: Pre-school, learning processes, children's learning Nyckelord: Förskola, lärprocesser, barns lärand

Don’t Believe the Hype(r): The Yellow Supergiants of Westerlund 1
Yellow hypergiants (YHGs) are often presumed to represent a transitional post-red supergiant (RSG) phase for stars ∼30-40 M ⊙. Here we present visual-wavelength echelle spectra of six YHG candidates in the Galactic cluster Westerlund 1, and we compare them to known YHGs, IRC +10420 and Hen 3-1979. We find that the six YHG candidates do not exhibit any metal emission lines, nor do they show strong Hα emission, and as such do not meet the criteria necessary to be classified as YHGs. In conjunction with their moderate luminosities of log ( L / L ⊙ ) = 4.7-5.4 estimated from optical/infrared photometry, we suggest instead that they are normal yellow supergiants (YSGs) with more modest initial masses around 15-20 M ⊙. This adds additional support to the hypothesis that Wd1 is a multiage cluster with an older age than previously assumed, and is not a ∼5 Myr old cluster caught at a very specific transitional point when single-star evolution might yield Wolf-Rayet stars, luminous blue variables, RSGs, and YHGs in the same cluster. Nevertheless, the population of YSGs in Wd1 is very unusual, with YSGs outnumbering RSGs, but with both spanning a large luminosity range. Here, we discuss evolutionary scenarios that might have led to the high fraction of YSGs. The number of YSGs and their significant luminosity spread cannot be explained by simple population synthesis models with single or binary stars. Even with multiple ages or a large age spread, the high YSG/RSG ratio remains problematic. We suggest instead that the objects may experience a prolonged YSG phase due to evolution in triple systems. © 2023. The Author(s). Le Mauricien français et la Mauricienne francophone
Ananda Devi and J.M.G. Le Clézio have both close connections to France as well as to Mauritius. While the former is rather qualified as a Mauritian author, the latter is rather seen as « French ». In this paper, I explore some mechanisms behind the attribution of a nationality to an author, by using a modified version of Jorge Caldéron’s critical questions concerning the « Pour une littérature-monde en français » manifesto. I find that there is no criterion for defining the national identity of an author, that couldn’t be questioned by finding counter-examples.
Employee benefits as a part of rewarding system
At present, the concept of wellbeing in the workplace and work engagement is a subject of renewed interest, consisting of multiple discussions, debates and studies, both on a managerial and academic level. However, it is a complex matter: people view the issue differently and everyone has one’s own point of view on which factors effect to the general wellbeing at work. Physical and mental wellbeing affects to the wellbeing in the workplace and vice versa; this has resulted in several discussions over its positive and negative effects.
The purpose of this research was to investigate employees’ wellbeing in the case company NMC Cellfoam Oy, and its effect on the reward system. The questions this research aimed to answer is how the case company can improve its employees’ wellbeing and develop its reward system.
The study consists of several parts. Firstly, the author investigates and evaluates theories about motivation, wellbeing and rewarding in general. This is followed by thorough analyses of NMC Cellfoam’s rewarding policy and the situation of employees’ motivation status and wellbeing. Finally, the versatile data and findings have been presented, from which the author was able to receive the necessary information to propose recommendations for the commissioning company

Estimating cointegrated panels with common factors and the forward rate unbiasedness hypothesis
This article proposes a bias-adjusted estimator for use in cointegrated panel regressions when the errors are cross-sectionally correlated through an unknown common factor structure. The asymptotic distribution of the new estimator is derived and is examined in small samples using Monte Carlo simulations. For the estimation of the number of factors, several information-based criteria are considered. The simulation results suggest that the new estimator performs well in comparison to existing ones. In our empirical application, we provide new evidence suggesting that the forward rate unbiasedness hypothesis cannot be rejected. © The Author 2007
