Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. No full textO estudo está inserido no campo do direito sanitário e tem a judicialização da saúde como tema. O problema reside no fato de que o poder executivo é o responsável por garantir assistência terapêutica à população brasileira, contudo é o poder judiciário que exerce esse papel muitas das vezes. O objeto de estudo são as demandas judiciais relacionadas à prestação de serviços e produtos de saúde junto aos planos de saúde. O objetivo geral foi analisar os casos julgados pela 26ª Câmara Cível do Tribunal de Justiça do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, no período de 2015 a 2017, para solução de litígios relacionados às pessoas jurídicas de direito privado que operam planos de assistência à saúde, regulados pela Agência Nacional de Saúde Suplementar. Os objetivos específicos visaram identificar as demandas judiciais para solução de litígios relacionadas às pessoas jurídicas de direito privado que operam planos de assistência à saúde, regulados pela Agência Nacional de Saúde Suplementar; caracterizar os tipos de demandas judiciais; e, estabelecer a prevalência das demandas judiciais. metodologia utilizou o estudo documental com abordagem quantitativa e fonte primária, que são os registros das Decisões Monocráticas e/ou Acórdãos da 26ª Câmara Cível do Consumidor do Tribunal de Justiça do Estado do Rio de Janeiro, disponibilizadas no site do Tribunal. A coleta de dados foi por formulário com itens necessários para nortear a busca dos 3.016 (três mil e dezesseis) casos, que corresponderam à amostragem. A análise de dados foi realizada por meio do método estatístico. A pesquisa aconteceu após divulgação pública de cada achado, o que faz inexistir dano para os litigantes e torna desnecessária a submissão ao Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa, através da Plataforma Brasil. Resultou predominância de ações ajuizadas por mulheres; a Unimed foi o plano de saúde mais demandado; o ano de 2017 concentrou o maior número de decisões judiciais contra os planos de saúde; a comarca da Capital é a que possui mais processos. Destaca-se que, o levantamento de dados identificou que as demandas judiciais vinculadas à prestação de serviços e produtos de saúde no Estado do Rio de Janeiro versam, principalmente, sobre pedidos de cirurgias, internação, home care, realização de exames, atendimento médico, transferência de instituição, terapia multidisciplinar, parto, fertilização in vitro, recurso terapêutico, medicamentos, material cirúrgico e material médico. Portanto, a pesquisa contribuiu para a discussão sobre o acesso à saúde, de forma a instigar a reorganização da esfera administrativa quanto à garantia plena do direito à assistência terapêutica, o que ocasionaria a redução de demandas judiciais vinculadas à saúde. Logo, conclui-se que a gestão em saúde precisa ser reformulada para que a população tenha acesso a serviços de saúde de qualidade e o poder judiciário seja menos acionado para resolver demandas relacionadas ao assunto, a fim de que o fenômeno da judicialização da saúde não seja uma regraThe study is part of the field of health law and has the judicialization of health as a theme. The problem lies in the fact that the executive branch is responsible for providing therapeutic assistance to the brazilian population, but it is the judiciary that plays this role many times. The object of study are the lawsuits related to the provision of health services and products with health plans. The general objective was to analyze the cases judged by the 26th Civil Chamber of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, in the period from 2015 to 2017, to resolve disputes related to legal entities under private law that operate health care plans, regulated by the National Agency of Supplementary Health. The specific objectives were to identify legal claims for the settlement of litigation related to legal entities under private law that operate health care plans, regulated by the National Agency of Supplementary Health; characterize the types of lawsuits; and, establish the prevalence of lawsuits. The methodology used the documentary study with quantitative approach and primary source, which are the records of the Monocratic Decisions and / or Judgments of the 26th Consumer Civil Chamber of the Court of Justice of the State of Rio de Janeiro, available on the Court's website. The data collection was by form with necessary items to guide the search of 3,016 (three thousand and sixteen) cases, which corresponded to the sampling. Data analysis was performed using the statistical method. The research happened after public disclosure of each finding, which does not damage the litigants and makes unnecessary submission to the Research Ethics Committee, through the Brazil Platform. A predominance of lawsuits filed by women resulted; Unimed was the most demanded health plan; the year 2017 concentrated the largest number of decisions against health insurance plans; the capital district has the most processes; It should be noted that the data collection identified that the lawsuits related to the provision of health services and products in the State of Rio de Janeiro are mainly about
requests for surgeries, hospitalization, home care, examinations, medical care, institution transfer, multidisciplinary therapy, childbirth, in vitro fertilization, therapeutic resource, medicines, surgical material and medical material. Therefore, the research contributed to the discussion on access to health, in order to instigate the reorganization of the administrative sphere in order to guarantee the full right to therapeutic assistance, which would lead to a reduction in health claims. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
