Differences in Catalytic Activities and Subunit Pattern of Multicatalytic Proteinase Complexes (Proteasomes) Isolated from Bovine Pituitary, Lung and Liver
Polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and high performance liquid chromatography of multicatalytic proteinase complexes (MPC) isolated from bovine pituitary, lung and liver showed marked differences in the pattern of subunits, The concentrations of LMP7 in the lung and liver were 10 and 5 times, respectively, greater than those in the pituitary, whereas the chymotrypsin-like activity and the amount of a subunit (BO2), necessary for its expression, were markedly decreased in the lung and moderately decreased in the liver, Lower trypsinlike, small neutral amino acid preferring, and peptidyl-glutamyl-peptide hydrolyzing activities were also found in the lung and liver. The activity of the branched chain amino acid preferring component (BrAAP), predominantly latent in the pituitary, was highly activated in the lung and liver, as evidenced by a greatly decreased IT, and a 20-fold increase of the specificity constant V-max/K-m, indicating facilitated substrate access to its active site and increased affinity toward substrates with branched chain amino acids in the P-1 position, It is suggested that overexpression of LMP7 in the lung is related to increased exposure of the airways to foreign antigens, The possible association between amounts of LMP7 and the activation of the BrAAP component needs further examination
A crítica literária sobre a lírica de Joaquim Cardozo no diário de Pernambuco
The present work sought to analyze the literary criticisms published in the Diário de
Pernambuco about the lyrics of Joaquim Cardozo, in order to demonstrate the impact on the
reception of this author's work in the region from Pernambuco. Thus, the objective of the
research was to discuss how the literary criticism on the poetry of Joaquim Cardozo
published in the Diário de Pernambuco was relevant to the studies of his lyrical work. The
methodology used consists of bibliographical research, with a qualitative approach. The
critical method adopted for this research was the historiographical one however, it was
necessary to track the issues inherent to literary criticism. In the analysis of the corpus, we
realized that two lines prevailed in the literary criticism about the author in this periodical: 1.
the relationship between the poet from Pernambuco and his region; 2. "human geography", an
expression that points to reflections on universal human problems. For theoretical reflection,
we relied on the theory of Souza (2014), Nina (2007), Durão (2016), Cintra (2020), among
A metodologia utilizada
Individual diction and public intervention in “Three positive sonnets” by Joaquim Cardozo
Abstract: Due to inaccurate place that Joaquim Cardozo occupies in Brazilian literary historiography, the appreciation of his work here will be limited to the range of possible individual expression, cut in three sonnets qualified by the same adjective: “positive”. With that, the positivity of textual qualification should be converted into speculation about the sense circumstantially built in that composition, which is tripartite and unfolds in the reflection on the vocabulary of the author, notably by the use of the adjective. Thus, the three sonnets will be considered as instruments of access to the style of the author through the lexicon used. The sonnet would be the upper room through which materializes a singular expressivity, more easily identifiable by the limits of fixed form, but that should signal something of his work as a whole, where rhythm, metric, the vocabulary and the phrasing of his verses gain other outlines, already suffering interference from the other conditions. Obviously the use of fixed form by Cardozo destabilizes the sense of own sonnet, creasing on his way in the tradition.</p
