No full textTo the Christian Stream in the Czech Literary Underground: Literary Works of Ivan Martin Jirous The thesis deals with the introduction of the Christian stream in the Czech literary underground, focusing on the personality and work of Ivan Martin Jirous. The paper is divided into five chapters. The first chapter describes the political and social situation in Czechoslovakia between 1948 and 1989. The second chapter defines the concepts of the underground and briefly introduces the authors classified in the Christian stream of the Czech literary underground. The third part aims at the personality of Ivan Martin Jirous, his life and his conception of faith. The fourth and fifth chapters focus on the analysis of literary works of Ivan Martin Jirous. Therefore, based on the analysis of selected works of Ivan Martin Jirous, this thesis attempts to present the Czech underground of the 70s and 80s of the 20th century, especially its Christian stream in literary works

Ivan Žuvela Šabo and His Etnographic Record from 1892
No full textU ovom tekstu otkriva se identitet autora jednog starijeg etnografskog zapisa nastalog na otoku Korčuli. Riječ je o rukopisu „Narodne pjesme junačke i žetelačke“ iz 1892., a koji se čuva u Arhivu Odsjeka za etnologiju Hrvatske akademije znanosti i umjetnosti u Zagrebu. Iako je u tom rukopisu autor potpisan kao „Ivan Žuvela, pravnik“, dosada ga se nije moglo točnije identificirati, iznesena je kriva pretpostavka, a čak se i spekuliralo da je riječ o pseudonimu. Istraživanjem dostupnih izvora i novinskih zapisa ipak se utvrdilo kako je zaista riječ o Velolučaninu Ivanu Žuveli iz grane Šabo, studentu prava koji je umro u svojoj 23-oj godini života, samo godinu dana po nastanku ovog rukopisa. Uz autora, u tekstu se detaljno progovara o rukopisu i njegovom iznimnom značaju za proučavanje nekadašnje svakodnevice, a posebno žetelačkih običaja na zapadnom dijelu otoka Korčule.This text reveals the identity of the hitherto unknown author one of the oldest known ethnographic record from the island of Korčula. The manuscript titled “Narodne pjesme junačke i žetelačke” (Folk Songs of Heroes and Harvesters) dates back to 1892 and is preserved in the Archive of the Ethnology Division at the Croatian Academy of Sciences and Arts in Zagreb. Although the author of the manuscript is signed as “Ivan Žuvela, legal scholar,” his precise identification has remained elusive, with incorrect assumptions and even speculation about a possible pseudonym. Through research of available sources and newspaper records, it has now been conclusively determined that the author is indeed Ivan Žuvela from Vela Luka, a member of the Šabo family, and a law student who passed away at the age of 23, just a year after creating this manuscript. In addition to introducing the author, this text provides a detailed exploration of the manuscript and its exceptional significance for studying the everyday life of the past, particularly the harvesting customs on the western part of the island of Korčula

Christian Spirituality as Sacrifice?
No full textŽrtvovanje je u svim religijama prisutno s različitim naglascima i u različitim oblicima, pa i u kršćanstvu. Također postoji u svim duhovnostima, koje su zapravo živa religija u svim dimenzijama čovjekova života i djelovanja. Međutim, Isus Krist je svojom jedinstvenom žrtvom na križu eliminirao sve oblike žrtvovanja Staroga zavjeta i drugih religija. On je, naime, svojom žrtvom spasio kako čovjeka, tako i cijeli svijet. Uzimajući to u obzir, postavlja se posve legitimno pitanje: možemo li o kršćanstvu, odnosno u kršćanskoj religiji, o živoj vjeri u Kristovu Duhu, govoriti kao o žrtvovanju? Ako ne, zašto ne? Ako da, zašto da? Kakvo žrtvovanje postoji u njoj, ako se živi u Kristovu Duhu (Rim 8, 4.14)? U prvom poglavlju autor rasprave odgovara na pitanja analizirajući rezultate ankete (Žrtvovanje u kršćanskoj duhovnosti, 2016), dok u drugom poglavlju nudi odgovore na osnovi rezultata analize i nekih autora s prikazom dvaju temeljnih razumijevanja žrtvovanja kao odricanja i darovanja.Sacrifice together with its various focuses and forms is present in every religion, including Christianity. It is also a part of every spirituality that constitutes a lived religion in every dimension of human life and work. Jesus Christ and his one-time sacrifice of himself on the cross have abolished all types of sacrifices present in the Old Testament and other religions, because he ultimately redeemed every person and the entire world. A justified question arises regarding this fact: Can we talk about Christianity, i.e. Christian spirituality as a lived faith in Christ’s Spirit as sacrifice? If the answer is no, why not? If yes, why so? What type of sacrifice is present in Christian spirituality if it is lived in Christ’s Spirit (Rom 8: 4.14)? In the first section of the discussion, the questions are answered by analyzing the results of the author’s survey entitled Sacrifice in Christian Spirituality (Survey 2016). The second section provides answers to the above questions based on the analysis and on certain authors’ opinions demonstrating the two fundamental conceptualizations of sacrifice as giving up and self-giving
