Sous-facteurs de L(F∞) d'indice 4cos2π/n,n≥3
Let Q be a factor of type II1, λ a number in the Jones discrete series {4cosπ/m:m≥3}, and {ei} the Jones projections associated with λ. Denote by A2n and A1n the finite-dimensional von Neumann algebras generated, respectively, by {1,e2,⋯,en} and {1,e1,⋯,en}, with the corresponding traces. The author shows that, for n sufficiently large, the index of the inclusion An=(Q⊗A2n)∗A2nA1n⊂(Q⊗A2n+1)∗A2n+1A1n+1=An+1 is equal to λ (here ∗ denotes the reduced, amalgamated free product of the algebras in question). Using the random matrix model of Voiculescu, he proves that if Q is the von Neumann algebra L(F∞) of the free group with infinitely many generators, then An is isomorphic to L(F∞).
The two facts together imply the existence, for any λ in the Jones discrete series, of an irreducible subfactor of L(F∞) of index λ. This constitutes the first example of a nonhyperfinite, non-Γ II1 factor such that its Jones invariant is fully computable (the existence of nonirreducible subfactors of L(F∞) for any index ≥4 is a simple consequence of known results)
The volume collects the expanded and revised versions of the presentations discussed during the conference titled "Politics and Administration. Ethics, Managerialism, and Accountability," organized in honour of Gianfranco D’Alessio. The focus is on administrative leadership, discussed and analysed from two perspectives. Firstly, in relation to the constitutional principles of impartiality and good administration. Secondly, with reference to the relationship it establishes with political bodies. The topic is approached from various angles and multiple perspectives, reflecting the diversity of skills and experiences, both professional and academic, of each author
Logarithmic variance profiles and the corresponding f-1 spectra of temperature fluctuations in turbulent Rayleigh-Bénard convection
We report experimental results for the temperature variance 2(z) and the corresponding frequency spectra P(f) in turbulent Rayleigh-Bénard convection (RBC) in a cylindrical sample of aspect ratioT= D/L = 1:00 (D = 1:12 m is the diameter and L = 1:12 m the height). The measurements were conducted in the Rayleigh-number range 1011 < Ra < 1:35 1014 and Pr ' 0:8. For Ra = 1:35x1014, 2(z) could be described well by a logarithmic dependence on the vertical position z in a range of z 1 < z < z 2 with z 1 ' 70 and z 2 = 0:1L. Here L=(2Nu) is the thickness of a thin thermal sublayer adjacent to the horizontal plate where the heat flux (denoted by the Nusselt number Nu) is carried mostly by thermal diffusion. In the log layer, we found that the temperature spectra had a significant frequency range over which P(f) f with close to 1. As Ra decreased, increased so that the log layer became thinner. At Ra = 2:05 1011, z 2 < z 1 and therefore there was no range for a log layer. Correspondingly, the temperature spectrum near the horizontal plate did not have the f1 scaling form either

Design of planar inverted-F antennas (PIFA) for multiband wireless applications
A small three bands printed inverted-F antenna with independently controlling the resonant frequency is presented. The proposed antenna consists of two arms
supported by shorting walls fed by 50 Ω microstrip transmission line and a ground plane. The antenna occupied a compact size of 26 x 25 x 3.75 mm. The main radiated patch
injected with slot and another arm to generate and control the three resonant frequencies to cover 2.4, 3.7 and 5.2GHz
Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) and Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access (WiMAX). The simulated and measured results show that the antenna achieves a gain of 2, 3 and 5 dBi respectively and radiation efficiency of 50%, 60% and 85% for the three bands respectively. The simulated and measured result for the return loss is in good agreements

However, it is possible that the original description was based on dried material (Fig. 4). Additionally, the original description lacks some morphological information that is of taxonomic significance for the subgenus Cantharellus, e.g., the presence of clamp connections and thick-walled hyphal extremities in the pileipellis (Buyck et al. 2014). A cautious check of the holotype revealed important differences in the shape (ovoid, smooth, and pale olive) and size (7.5-8.0 × 6.5-7.0 µm) of the spores, compared to the original description (Chiu 1973). Additionally, we found smaller basidiospores that we interpreted as immature spores from young fruit bodies. Unfortunately, we could not obtain a sequence from the holotype due to the long period of preservation in the herbarium. Cantharellus yunnanensis is one of the most popular chanterelles in the edible mushroom markets of Yunnan Province. The lack of an accurate description or sequence allowed us to select a suitable collection as the epitype.
Published as part of Shao, Shi-Cheng, Liu, Pei-Gui, Wei, Tie-Zheng & Herrera, Mariana, 2021, New insights into the taxonomy of the genus Cantharellus in China: epityfication of C. yunnanensis W. ``CRYSTAL FIELD" THEORY FOR THE RYDBERG STATES OF POLYATOMIC MOLECULES AND ORBITAL CORRELATION TO DISSOCIATED FRAGMENTS
Author Institution: Center for Molecular Dynamics Energy Transfer, Department of Chemistry The Catholic University of AmericaApproximate energy expression of a Rydberg electron of given orbital angular momentum L is derived showing its dependence. The derivation takes into account of multipole potential field up to hexadecapole and includes mixing of different L’s by odd (dipole and octopole) potentials for systems without inversion symmetry. The proportion of different L’s will be estimated from (translational) of atomic orbitals in the LCAO-MO’s. Symmetry constraints and correlation between Rydberg molecular orbitals and dissociated fragments will be discussed. see, for example, Y. N. Chiu, J. Math. Phys. 5, 283 (1964) and references therein
