Table_1_So-Cheong-Ryoung-Tang Attenuates Pulmonary Inflammation Induced by Cigarette Smoke in Bronchial Epithelial Cells and Experimental Mice.DOCX
So-Cheong-Ryoung-Tang is a traditionally used herbal formula for the treatment of pulmonary diseases in China, Korea, and Japan. We investigated the protective effects of So-Cheong-Ryong-Tang water extract (SCWE) in cigarette smoke concentrate (CSC) stimulated human airway epithelial cell line NCI-H292 and mice exposed cigarette smoke (CS) and lipopolysaccharide (LPS). In the CSC-stimulated NCI-H292 cells, SCWE inhibited proinflammatory cytokines in a concentration-dependent manner, as evidenced by a reduction in their mRNA levels. Also, SCWE significant reduced inducible nitric oxide synthase (iNOS) expression and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) phosphorylation in CSC-stimulated cells. The mice were exposed to CS for 1 h per day (a total of eight cigarettes per day) for 7 days and received LPS intranasally on day 5. The mice were administered a dose of SCWE (100 and 200 mg/kg) 1 h before CS exposure. In in vivo, SCWE decreased the inflammatory cell count and reduced the expression of the proinflammatory cytokines in the broncho-alveolar lavage fluid (BALF) compared with CS and LPS exposed mice. SCWE attenuated inflammatory cell infiltration in airway induced by CS and LPS exposure, and this decrease was accompanied by a reduction in the expression levels of iNOS and MMP-9 in lung tissue. The extract also inhibited the phosphorylation of inhibitor of kappa B alpha (IκBα) and NF-κB induced by CS and LPS exposure in lung tissue. These results suggest that SCWE may effectively inhibit airway inflammatory responses induced by CS and LPS exposure via the NF-κB pathway. Therefore, SCWE may be a potential treatment for airway inflammatory diseases, such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).</p

Near-complete teleportation of a superposed coherent state

PACS: 03.67.Hk, 03.65.Ud, 42.50.-pThe four Bell-type entangled coherent states, \alpha]\-alpha]+/-alpha]\alpha] and \alpha]\alpha]+/-\-alpha]\alpha], can be discriminated with a high probability using only linear optical means, as long as \alpha\ is not too small. Based on this observation, we propose a simple scheme to almost completely teleport a superposed coherent state. The Impact of Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) on Business in the Republic of Korea
The Republic of Korea (hereafter Korea) continues to promote an open-trade system via the conclusion of free trade agreements (FTAs), arguing that Korean enterprises will obtain considerable business opportunities under the FTAs the government has implemented. However, the FTAs that are currently being implemented in Korea are said to be beneficial only to some enterprises. This study presents new evidence from a survey conducted from July–August 2008 on 120 Korean firms. The paper explores critical questions regarding the utilization of FTAs, their perceived costs and benefits, perceptions of multiple rules of origin (ROOs), and policy and institutional support mechanisms for FTAs. One of the key findings is that most of the currently implemented FTAs in Korea were concluded with small- and medium-sized developing countries. Moreover, within these FTAs, the range of preferential tariffs is not very broad in scope; as such, only one out of five enterprises was found to be utilizing them. However, since the conclusion of FTAs with the United States and the European Union, Korean businesses have become very interested in utilizing those respective FTAs. The government should make efforts for early implementation of these FTAs. In the FTAs concluded by Korea, ROOs are strict and complicated. 학위논문(석사)--아주대학교 일반대학원 :기계공학과,2010. 2차세대 고속철도는 시속 400 km/h 를 목표로 동력 분산형 기술을 적용한 고속철도 이다. 동력 분산형은 동력이 많아 견인력이 높으며 가속도가 빠르기 때문에 동력 집중식의 단점을 보완해 줄 수 있는 방법이다. 또한 전기제동을 사용하는 경우 마찰제동력의 보완에 용이하며 축 중을 분산시킬 수 있어 열차주행이 선로에 미치는 영향이 적어 고속철도에 있어서 적합한 기술이다. 하지만 기존의 동력 집중형과는 달리 새로운 기술을 적용하기 때문에 차세대 고속철도의 주행 안정성에 대한 검토가 필요하다. 철도차량의 안전성은 인명피해와 직접 관련이 있기 때문에 설계 시 가장 중요한 요소가 되기 때문이다.
본 연구에서는 차세대 고속철도의 목표 속도인 400 km/h 에서 열차의 주행 안정성에 대해 연구하였다. 모델을 구성하는 각 부품의 제원과 물성치를 이용하여 차세대 고속철도의 동역학 모델을 생성하였다. 생성한 모델은 정적해석을 통해 신뢰성을 확보하였으며 Stability 해석과 비선형 해석을 통해 차세대 고속철도의 임계속도를 확인하였다. 또한 실제 경부선의 불규칙도를 적용한 트랙을 생성하여 선로를 주행하는 시뮬레이션 과정을 거쳐 UIC 518 or 의 안전기준과 비교하여 400 km/h 속도에서 차세대 고속철도의 주행 안정성을 확인하였다.제 1장 서론 13

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
