No full text這是一個以明代曲家王驥德的雜劇「男王后」為本，再加以參照正史、筆記小說，並融入現代性別概念後，加以重新創作的劇本。情描寫將軍陳劍，在戰場上偶然與陳子高相遇，為其美色傾心，便贈與寶劍並收為隨身侍衛，與子高產生戀情。凱旋歸家之後，安排陳子高住西廂，與妻子沈妙容共同生活在一起。陳劍妹妹玉華，偶然遇見陳子高，誤認為子高是她的未婚夫，後來雖然得知事實真相，但仍然深愛子高。於是夜間便去至西廂，與子高發生戀情。子高徘徊在兄妹男女兩人之間，同時與兩人相愛。最後東窗事發，陳劍要子高做出選擇，子高選擇了陳劍，玉華因而鬱悶而死。子高便與沈妙容一同服侍陳劍。劇企圖重新塑造陳子高陰陽並濟的特質，使他與陳劍的男男戀，展現出真實性，並以陳玉華主動的女性情慾追求為對照，在權力與性別糾葛之中，表現出獨特情感與戲劇衝突，務使在戲曲傳統才子佳人模式之外，透過當代的同志性別概念來重新詮釋，開發出獨特的伴侶關係與情感糾葛，重新塑造有當代觀的，不受性別限制的愛情傳奇。論文除劇本之外，一併收錄創作源由，說明筆者創作本劇的來龍去脈，及劇本完成之後的詳細分析，以供參考。This is a play adapted from the original play: “The Male Queen,” written by Wang Chi-Te in Ming dynasty. This is a whole new adaptation integrated with contemporary gender concepts and also referring to related historical documents and novels.he plot of the play is as follows: a general, Chen Chien, meets an extremely beautiful young soldier, Chen Zi-Gao on the battlefield. Chen Chien admires Chen Zi-Gao wholeheartedly, so he bestows him a treasured sword and takes him as his personal bodyguard, who also has to serve him at night. After the war, they return home in triumph. Chen Zi-Gao is accommodated in the western chamber and lives with Chen Chien’s wife, Shen Miao-Jung. Chen Chien’s sister, Chen Yu-Hua, meets Chen Zi-Gao incidentally and mistakes him for her fiance. After realizing the truth, she still falls in love with him. So she starts to see Chen Zi-Gao in the western chamber during the night. They have a secret affair. Then the brother and sister, Chen Chien and Chen Yu-Hua share the same beauty Chen Zi-Gao. Chen Zi-Gao falls in love with a male and a female at the same time. Then Chen Chien finally finds out the fact that his sister is having an affair with his beloved bodyguard. He wants Chen Zi-Gao to make a decision. Chen Zi-Gao is given a promise that if Chen Chien becomes King, he will be crowned the male queen. Chen Zi-Gao chooses Chen Chien. Chen Yu-Hua then dies of disappointment and depression.he play tries to present Chen Zi-Gao’s unique character in the combination of his yin and yang characteristics, which provides an authenticity for his homosexual relationship with Chen Chien. Chen Yu-Hua’s active pursue of passion and love makes a contrast between homosexual and heterosexual relationships. In such contrast, combined with power and gender struggle, the unique emotional and dramatic conflict is revealed. No full textGuangxia An, Chen & Shi, gen. nov. Type species: Guangxia longlina An, Chen & Shi , sp. nov. Generic characters. Body small. Head hypognathous. Fastigium verticis conical, apex rounded, with longitudinal sulcus on dorsal surface. Compound eyes globular, protruding forward. Frons slightly sloping backward. Apical segment of maxillary palpus approximately equated in length with subapical segment, apex swollen and rounded. Pronotum slightly elongate backward, with a median carina; lateral lobe longer than deep, humeral sinus absent. Thoracic auditory spiracle exposed, peanut shape. Tegmina shorter, only reaching apex of abdomen, tapering, apices slightly and obliquely truncated; hind wings slightly shorter than tegmina. All femora without spines on ventral surfaces; tibial tympana open on both sides; genicular lobe of postfemora with apex rounded; posttibia with a pair of dorsal apical spurs and 2 pairs of ventral apical spurs. Posterior margin of male tenth abdominal tergite concave, with a pair of posterior processes; cercus with 2 branches; genitalia entirely sclerotized, exposed; subgenital plate with styli. Ovipositor slightly upcurved, ventral valvulae with apices hooked. Discussion. The new genus is similar to Aphlugiolopsis Wang, Liu & Li, 2015, but differs in: posterior margin of male tenth abdominal tergite concave, with a pair of posterior processes; styli positioned on apex of subgenital plate. It resembles Neocononicephora Gorochov, 1998, but differs in: posttibia with 3 pairs of apical spurs; male genitalia entirely sclerotized. Etymology. No full textChen Chen is the author of When I Grow Up I Want to Be a List of Further Possibilities (BOA Editions, 2017), which was long-listed for the National Book Award and won the Thom Gunn Award, among other honors. Bloodaxe Books published a UK edition in June. He is also the author of four chapbooks, most recently You MUST Use the Word Smoothie (Sundress Publications, 2019) and Gesundheit! (in collaboration with Sam Herschel Wein and forthcoming from Glass Poetry Press, fall 2019). His work appears in many publications, including Poem-a-Day, The Massachusetts Review, The Best American Poetry, and The Best American Nonrequired Reading. He has received a Pushcart Prize and fellowships from Kundiman and the National Endowment for the Arts. He holds an MFA from Syracuse University and a PhD from Texas Tech University. He teaches at Brandeis University as the Jacob Ziskind Poet-in-Residence and co-runs the journal, Underblong. He lives in Waltham, Massachusetts, with his partner, Jeff Gilbert, and their pug, Mr. Rupert Gile

A Rosary of Rubies: The Chronicle of the Gur-rigs mDo-chen Tradition from South-Western Tibet
Get PDFThe mDo-chen bKa’-brgyud-pa school represents a little known Buddhist tradition from Mang-yul Gung-thang in south-western Tibet. It goes back to a Buddhist yogin known as Ma-bdun-pa or Ma-bdun ras-chen (12th/13th c.) and was later mainly spread by members of the Gur family. Although belonging to the “Upper ’Brug” (stod ’brug) branch of the ’Brug-pa bKa’-brgyud-pa school, the mDo-chen tradition has always been deeply infused with the “spoken teachings” (bka’ ma) and “treasure teachings” (gter ma) of the rNying-ma-pa school, and the cult of the “Seven Ma-mo Sisters” (ma mo mched bdun) was particularly practised and transmitted by its members. This book presents a critical edition, an annotated translation and a photographic reproduction of a manuscript copy of a rare chronicle of the Gur-rigs mDo-chen tradition written by Brag-dkar rta-so sPrul-sku Chos-kyi dbang-phyug (1775–1837). The text provides us with an overview of the tradition’s development mainly through biographical accounts but also through prophecies, prayers and praises for individual masters. The study concludes with two appendices based on the mDo chen bka’ brgyud gser ’phreng, a lineage history composed in the 15th century, and the “records of teachings received” (thob yig) of three important members of the Gur family, thus allowing us to gain an insight into the transmissions of the mDo-chen bKa’-brgyud-pa school and the interactions of its representatives with other important Buddhist teachers up to the 18th century. The present work is a further outcome of the author’s investigations into the cultural and religious traditions of south-western Tibet and the neighbouring Himalayan valleys
Mechanisms for surface potential decay on fluorinated epoxy in high voltage DC applications
Get PDFEpoxy resin has been extensively used for decades as an insulation material in high voltage transmission systems. However, this insulation material does suffer from bulk and surface charging when used as insulating spacer, mainly in high voltage DC applications. By applying fluorination treatment, the surface of polymeric insulation is chemically treated and so modifies charge transport characteristics of the material. In doing so, excellent surface properties can be obtained without compromising the bulk characteristics of the polymeric insulation. In this paper, the authors investigate the surface potential decay performance of non-fluorinated and fluorinated epoxy resin samples. The surface decay performance of insulating material is a crucial parameter in dissipating accumulation of surface and bulk charge that can lead to premature breakdown of the insulating material. The epoxy samples were characterised by Energy Dispersive X-Ray (EDX) analysis to determine the changes in chemical composition of the samples before and after fluorination treatment. Surface potential decay measurement using positive corona discharging was then performed, followed by bulk DC conductivity measurement to further explain the mechanisms which govern the surface potential decay. The existence of surface-fluorinated layer on the treated samples had been found to play a major role in dictating the movement of charges away from the surface during the decay process. Mapping the Discipline of the Olympic Games An Author-Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFThe authors conducted an author cocitation analysis on prominent authors writing about the Olympics during the 1990s. Author cocitation is an established bibliometric technique that can be used to measure the relative similarities of topics written about by the cited authors. This enables a visual representation of the “intellectual space” of the discipline, in this case the Olympics, to be created for the period under review. So core and peripheral research areas are identified, along with their major contributors. The representation appears as a two-dimensional cluster-enhanced map. Subject expertise was then applied to the results to place labels on the generated clusters of authors and their topics
