El eterno retorno en la filosofía de Gilles Deleuze
Get PDFEn esta tesis se busca investigar el trabajo que el filósofo francés Gilles Deleuze hace sobre una intuición propia de la filosofía nietzscheana, a saber, el Eterno retorno. Partimos de una comprensión del mundo a partir de la Voluntad de poder, en la que se da cuenta de las cosas a partir del modo como llegan a ser. Si entendemos el ser a partir de sus diferencias y sus relaciones, podremos comprender el mundo ya no a partir de la identidad, sino a partir del proceso. Para que este último se repita desde la diferencia, es necesario mostrar que el Eterno retorno es una doctrina cosmológica o una comprensión del tiempo en la que la repetición hace regresar el ser. En la medida en que el ser no es algo dado o estático que permanece siempre, el ser deviene aquello que nos fuerza a pensar. El pensamiento no es, entonces, un esfuerzo de la buena voluntad, sino más bien una respuesta a un mundo complejo que nos cuestiona y nos mueve. El Eterno retorno adquiere así un doble aspecto, como doctrina cosmológica y como pensamiento ético y selectivo pues al forzarnos a pensar selecciona lo que debe regresar.In the following text I will present Gilles Deleuze s work on Nietzsche s Eternal recurrence. I begin with a comprehension of the world base don the will of power or on the way things become. When one understands the world through it s difference and the relations he is able create, it s possible to see everything from the perspective of the process. For this process to repeat itself I show that the Eternal recurrence is a cosmological doctrine or a theory of time in which repetition makes return the being. If neither the being nor the time have an essence of their own, being is thus that what forces us to think. Thought isn t conceived as an effort of a good will, but as an answer to a complex world that questions and moves us. We can, then, say that the Eternal recurrence is both a cosmological doctrine and a selective and ethical thought that selects what has to return when it forces us to think
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

No full textLa question de la migration, légale ou illégale, travaille la conscience politique de l’Europe contemporaine. Nous peinons à réconcilier des intuitions morales qui nous poussent à l’hospitalité et des motivations politiques qui tendent au contrôle. Plusieurs créations récentes du cinéma européen contemporain sont le reflet de ce malaise. Pour mettre à l’épreuve l’idée du cinéma comme « leçon de vie », nous proposons ainsi de comparer Le Havre (2011) de Aki Kaurismäki et De l’autre côté (2007) de Fatih Akin. Ces deux films nous semblent en effet représentatifs de deux usages moraux du cinéma fort différents, selon que le point de vue présenté est celui du citoyen ou celui du migrant. Alors que Le Havre se débat avec les figures en miroir de la forteresse assiégée et de la terre d’accueil supposée de la « misère du monde », Fatih Akin déplace radicalement les catégories.Migration, whether legal or illegal, is a burning political issue for contemporary Europe. It raises a conflict between moral intuitions, bent towards hospitality, and political motivations, often concerned with control. Several recent works of contemporary European cinema reflect this uneasiness. In order to study the idea that cinema can provide “life lessons”, this paper compares Aki Kaurismäki’s Le Havre (2011) and Fatih Akin’s Auf der anderen Seite (The Edge of Heaven, 2007). These two films are indeed paradigmatic of two very different uses of cinema, whether the point of view taken is the citizen’s, or the migrant’s. Whereas Le Havre deals with the conflicted images of the assaulted fortress and the hospitable haven for those in need, Fatih Akin reframes radically the terms of the problem
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts
Get PDFWe conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued
use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation
counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases.
