Taking into consideration the theoretical background that performance is an act of transference (TAYLOR, 2013) and that poetry happens when vocalized (ZUMTHOR, 2007), the project Tutto Dante, by Roberto Benigni, comes to mind. The project, inspired in Dante Alighieri’s Commedia, active in Europe and the American Continent in the beginning of the 21st century, had as a purpose make public the work considered as founder of the modern occidental literature and preceding of the Italian language. Since its publication, in the 14th century, readers of the Dantesc work have wished that it gained voice, as theorized by Paul Zumthor (2007). The first person known to do that was Giovanni Boccaccio, the same who added the adjective Divine to the work. The objective of the present work is to make a brief analysis of the project Tutto Dante, bearing in mind the theoretical background of performance, writing and vocalization, as discussed by Aleida Asmann (2011), Arturo Carrera (2014), Diana Taylor (2013), and Paul Zumthor (2007).Partindo dos pressupostos teóricos de que a performance é um ato de transferência (TAYLOR, 2013) e de que a poesia se realiza quando vocalizada (ZUMTHOR, 2007), pode-se chegar ao projeto Tutto Dante, de Roberto Benigni.

Abstract : The questions concerning the political involvement and the secularization of the Catholic Church are a constant throughout the history of Christianity. These questions boosted, among others, separation, creation of several religious orders and religions, as well as the conducting of Councils, also arousing the interest of intellectuals. The writer Ignazio Silone (1900-1978), was one who did not fail to ask, through his literary works, on the aforementioned involvement. In his two last publications, L'Avventura d'un povero cristiano (1968), in which the Pope's historical drama of the great renunciation, Celestine V, was recovered, and Severina (1981), unfinished work, published posthumously, Silone exposes his vision about this problematic secularization of the church, as well as the cracks opened in its inside. In the Second Letter of Saint Paul to the Thessalonians, for instance, it is considered that there is a bipolarity of power, that would be originated from the center of the institution. Recently, in 2013, this issue resurfaced with the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI, raising new considerations made by the philosophers Giorgio Agamben and Massimo Cacciari, thus reaffirming the present of the silonian thought. The investigations and reflection towards these issues is the objective of this study

Abstract: In the 20th century, Dante Alighieri?s Commedia was published in Brazil in different versions. Bearing this in mind, 13 editions were selected, aiming at analyzing how given paratexts function in relation to the work. The hypothesis is that they can have the role of guide or threshold. The paratext theory used as mais reference is the one from Gérard Genette, Paratextos editoriais (2009), divided into epitext and peritext. From the second group, prefaces, postfaces, back covers, and flaps were chosen. The hypothesis comes at first from the latin and greek etymologies of the word paratext, parallel to Giorgio Agamben?s considerations in A Aventura (2018), also sustained by Cacciari (2005), among other authors with discussions about the theme. The guide peritext aims at leading the reader through the literary text. On the other hand, the threshold peritext is characterized as the one that leaves the reader in the verge if the main text. As final considerations, it was noticed that there was a possible attempt to popularize the dantesc poem, which makes us view the Commedia as a plural literary work, rich in its construction, that has been through centuries and territories, and whose unique characteristics reflect the singularity of its paratexts

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Variations on the Author

“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis
