Evaluación del rendimiento de arroz (Oryza sativa L.) comparando dos métodos de preparación del suelo
Get PDFContextualization: Rice (Oryza sativa L.) cultivation, throughout its vegetative process, generates an increase in bulk density and penetration resistance in soil. The most representative component of production costs is management, even so, land preparation and adaptation reach, and exceed, 20% of the costs.
Knowledge gap: As it is a high economic yield crop and little technified in the region, the conservation plows implementation that provide economic and environmental benefits to the community is sought.
Purpose: With the aim of promoting a more sustainable production and agriculture, it was proposed to evaluate the soil’s physical properties and the rice crop yield, modifying the conventional preparation with plow to the chisel use.
Methodology: The experimental area made up of one hectare was divided into experimental plots, T1: One pass with a vibratory chisel, and T2: Two passes with conventional tillage (plow), in which the soil’s physical properties were evaluated (Real Density, Apparent Density, Porosity and Texture) and the phenological follow-up to the crop development (Germination, Maximum Tillering, Maximum Engrossed, Maturity and Harvest). Soil tests were carried out before and after tillage between 15 and 20 cm depth. The statistical analysis was carried out by means of Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and graphically, and the techno-economic analysis was carried out based on the production and operation costs comparing between the two types of tillage.
Results and conclusions: The results showed that after soil preparation the bulk density decreased by 5,0% for T1 and 13,5% for T2; Likewise, these effects led to an increase in porosity of 13,6% and 29,34%, respectively, and production costs to be 1159,9 USD for T1 and 5,37% higher for T2. At the end, it is concluded that, when evaluating the yield at harvest, there were no significant differences in production because of machining, but a statistical difference was observed between the cost of conventional and reduced tillage, the latter being 148,9% cheaper and less aggressive for the soil.
Contextualización: El cultivo de arroz (Oryza sativa L.), en todo su proceso vegetativo genera en el suelo aumento de la densidad aparente y de la resistencia a la penetración. El componente más representativo de los costos de producción es el manejo, aun así, la preparación y adecuación de los terrenos puede alcanzar, y superar, el 20% de los costos.
Vacío de conocimiento: Al ser un cultivo de alto rendimiento económico y estar poco tecnificado en la región, se busca la implementación de arados de conservación que aporten beneficios económicos y ambientales a la comunidad.
Propósito: Con el afán de promover una producción y una agricultura más sostenible, se propuso evaluar las propiedades físicas del suelo y el rendimiento del cultivo de arroz, modificando la preparación convencional con rastra por el uso del cincel.
Metodología: El área experimental conformada por una hectárea se dividió en parcelas experimentales, T1: Una pasada de cincel vibratorio, y T2: Dos pasadas de arado convencional (rastra), se evaluaron las propiedades físicas del suelo (Densidad Real, Densidad Aparente, Porosidad y Textura) y se realizó seguimiento fenológico al desarrollo del cultivo (Germinación, Máximo Macollamiento, Máximo Embuchamiento, Madurez y Cosecha). Las pruebas de suelo se realizaron antes y después de la labranza entre los 15 y 20 cm de profundidad. El análisis estadístico se realizó mediante Análisis de Varianza (ANOVA) y gráficamente, y el análisis tecno económico se realizó con base en la producción y el costo de operación entre los dos tipos de labranza.
Resultados y conclusiones: Los resultados mostraron que después de la preparación del suelo la densidad aparente disminuyó en un 5,0% para T1 y 13,5% para T2; igualmente estos efectos conllevaron a que la porosidad aumentará 13,6% y 29,34%, respectivamente, y que los costos de producción fueran 1159,9 USD para T1 y 5,37% mayor para T2. Al finalizar se concluye que, al evaluar el rendimiento a la cosecha, no se presentaron diferencias significativas en la producción por efecto del mecanizado, pero se observó estadísticamente diferencia entre el costo de la labranza convencional y la reducida, siendo ésta última 148,9% más económica y menos agresiva para el suelo
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
