La periferia romana nel cinema contemporaneo: il luogo (simbolico) di contrasti ed esistenze difficili = Roman suburbia in contemporary cinema: the (symbolic) place of contrasts and difficult existences
Roman suburbia in contemporary cinema: the (symbolic) place of contrasts and difficult existences. Roman suburbia became the backdrop for numerous contemporary cinematographic works in which the dramatic lives of people are marked by events and dramas which condition their existence. In this context, the suburbia hasn’t a marginal role, because it is a place that accompanies, breathes and absorbes events and circumstances charging itself with symbols and meanings. In fact, it leaves together with the characters of the movies studied in the paper, contributing to their definition. In particular, these movies are “Lo chiamavano Jeeg Robot” (2015), “Il più grande sogno” (2016), “Cuori puri” (2017), “Fortunata” (2017), “Il contagio” (2017), “Manuel” (2017), “La terra dell’abbastanza” (2018), “Dogman” (2018). The main purpose of the paper is to understand why roman suburbia is a “symbolic place”, returned to the top of the cinematographic contemporary works
Calcio e società da una prospettiva interdisciplinare”, edited by Maurizio Lupo and Antonella Emina, is a volume that collects essays and reflections by scholars belonging to various disciplinary and professional sectors and is part of the panorama of literature that analyzes the relationship between sport and society, proposing a particular vision. The protagonists of the collective volume are stories, events, episodes, anecdotes which, combining considerations of a wider range, show the pervasiveness of football, according to different forms, within society and global culture, highlighting aspects that require adequate investigation
Although female athletes often must undergo a process of comparison with their male colleagues, with perceptible concrete differences concerning issues such as professionalism, ancient civilisations show how the practice of sport, even competitive sport, did not characterise exclusively male people: the sports practised by women – from different backgrounds – since ancient times are various. This element, together with stories of women who have distinguished themselves for sports merits in modern and contemporary society, contributes to defining the story of years and years of struggle against social and cultural prejudices, in a process of long emancipation, which has embraced different fields. “Le protagoniste. L’emancipazione femminile attraverso lo sport” by Eva Cantarella and Ettore Miraglia reflects precisely on these aspects, starting with Greek civilization and presenting various photographs of women who, by distinguishing themselves in various sporting disciplines, have contributed to defining women's emancipation in multiple fields

Streaming Wars.
Football Re(me)mediation: i meme e l’estetizzazione dell'emozione calcistica nelle community social = Football Re(me)mediation: Memes and The Aestheticization of Football Emotions in Social Newtorks Communities
The relationship between sport, emotions and media is immediate. Football has a strong ability to emotionally involve huge masses of fans, thanks to the dramaturgical and ritualistic qualities of each match and thanks to the collective identification in footballer-heroes (Bifulco e Tirino, 2018). These qualities are further reinvigorated by media stories, which transform fans into media users (Gau, James e Kim, 2009). Due to the emergence of the SMS triangle (Sport, Media, Sponsor) (Martelli 2011, 2014) the figure of the fan is increasingly indistinguishable from the figures of the user and the consumer. However, football fans increasingly have the opportunity to participate in contemporary cultural production, for example by generating UGC to be disseminated in media environments such as social networks. Through the concept of “radical mediation”, Grusin argues that the media are configured as emotional environments. On the other hand, social networks constitute a privileged territory of exteriorization of one’s emotional commitment (Boccia Artieri et al. 2017). Starting from these sociological and mediological perspectives, the aim of our paper is to investigate media modalities and processes by which football fans’ emotions are remediated, on social networks, through the production and dissemination of meme. Meme are relevant examples of user-generated content (Boccia Artieri, 2012, Jenkins, Ford e Green, 2013), and also are central media objects to understand the participatory cultures of web 2.0 and the typical logic of remix cultures. Our paper will try to highlight how these grassroots practices, within a new participatory aesthetic, elaborate the connection between mediation and affection (Grusin 2017), (social) media and emotions, football communication (mainstream and bottom-top) and fans
