Hacia una poetica feminista Latino Americana: Ana Maria Rodas, Maria Mercedes Carranza y Gioconda Belli
"This dissertation explores the ways in which three contemporary Latin American women--Ana Maria Rodas from Guatemala, Maria Mercedes Carranza from Colombia, and Gioconda Belli from Nicaragua--deal with the traditional concept ""Woman"" in their poetry. Analysis of their textual responses to that concept shows a rejection of religious and cultural myths related to women through the use of irony, a criticism of expected feminine social postures through the use of humor, a subvertion of traditional associations such as land-woman-object, woman-guilt and woman-virtue, a rejection and assimilation of the female body as the ""dark continent,"" a problematization and reconceptualization of motherhood, and a problematization and a re-writing of nationhood. The most important topics in these women's poetry--women's sexuality, the concept of love, and the concept of nationhood--provide the basis for this analysis.""Poetry, as one among various signifying practices in which women's images are produced and reproduced, reflects how these writers are documenting or changing the way contemporary Latin American women see themselves or are seen by society. The poetic ways in which these writers respond to the imposed patriarchal concept ""Woman"" show a growing awareness and assimilation of the feminism of the second wave in Latin America."Made available in DSpace on 2011-05-07T13:11:49Z (GMT).
According to one of the main concepts of the material bibliography, which states that the format of the book conditions the meaning of the text, we propose the analysis of illustrated covers and book jackets. Because it is a type of graphic discourse, it is closer to editorial design than the author of the text. However, illustrated covers are responsible for different interpretations and are addressed to different kinds of readers. We exemplify this phenomenon with one of the latest novels by Beatriz Guido, The Invitation, published by Losada in 1979, by Alianza Editorial in 1982 and by Círculo de Lectores in 1984Fil: Rodriguez Temperley, Maria Mercedes. SHORT CIRCUITS (OR THE HISTORY OF A CRITICAL DENIAL): LOS OJOS DE BAMBU, BY MERCEDES VALDIVIESO
In Chile, critical tradition has built complex connections with female writers throughout the Twentieth Century. This topic has been addressed in its different nuances through texts of canonical female writers such as Mistral, Bombal, and Brunet. However, their texts were either devoid of their masculinizing operatives or reduced to their more harmless and conventional feminine aspects. This simultaneous movement of acceptance and rejection perpetuates today in different cultural spaces. Additionally, the fact that only a handful of 'exceptional' female writers inscribe in the literary field, 'short circuits' the spaces of feminine intersubjectivity, in words of the Catalan writer Maria-Merce Marcal (in Torras y Perez). The exceptional character of these authorships prompts some to shine while others are forgotten. Furthermore, exceptionality operates in various literary corpora: criticism frequently highlights one or two literary works from past writers. The rest remains invisible, contrary to the situation of the masculine canon. In the following article, I illustrate this process by salvaging the third novel written by Mercedes Valdivieso, Los Ojos de Bambu (1964), for analysis. Unlike other texts written by the author, it was not well-received by literary critics of the time, probably because the author refers to an untypical topic for women: the Chinese Communist Revolution in the context of the Cold War
Born to be Authors: Children, Creativity and Copyright
This article analyses the role of the child as an author and creative individual, according to the paradigm of Maria Montessori, to expand the question of whether the law provides a sufficient and just safeguard to this category of copyright authors. Montessori’s exploration of the creative freedom of children shows how irresistibly strong and indomitable their creativity is in the early years. This article submits that the early years are a most significant phase when children, in their exercise of creative authorship, are able to express the utmost freedom and originality. Accordingly, a scholarship of copyright law “of” the child and, significantly, authorship “by” the child should be at the core of a just and balanced legal system that brings together the rights and safeguards embedded within international rules and the copyright framework.

Author response: Multiple short windows of calcium-dependent protein kinase 4 activity coordinate distinct cell cycle events during Plasmodium gametogenesis
Malaria transmission relies on the production of gametes following ingestion by a mosquito. Here, we show that Ca2+-dependent protein kinase 4 controls three processes essential to progress from a single haploid microgametocyte to the release of eight flagellated microgametes in Plasmodium berghei. A myristoylated isoform is activated by Ca2+ to initiate a first genome replication within twenty seconds of activation. This role is mediated by a protein of the SAPS-domain family involved in S-phase entry. At the same time, CDPK4 is required for the assembly of the subsequent mitotic spindle and to phosphorylate a microtubule-associated protein important for mitotic spindle formation. Finally, a non-myristoylated isoform is essential to complete cytokinesis by activating motility of the male flagellum. This role has been linked to phosphorylation of an uncharacterised flagellar protein. Altogether, this study reveals how a kinase integrates and transduces multiple signals to control key cell-cycle transitions during Plasmodium gametogenesis.</jats:p

Abstract: The work begins from the problem of trying to think of a way of resistance by Law. The hypothesis is supported by the notion of "deactivate" the law, contained in the work of Giorgio Agamben. In this sense, this dissertation seeks to reconstruct the legal-political and governmental paradigms within the work of the author in question, mostly from the books "The sovereign power and bare life", "State of Exception" and "The Kingdom and the Glory". At the end, the proposal to "deactivate" the Law and the concept of unindustriousness are confronted with Agamben's government machinery. In conclusion, the philosophy of law is presented as an alternative to think about a new relationship between law and life
Green Bond as Instrument of Impact Investing for Financing Sustainable Transports
The chapter wants to describe Green Bond as an important sustainable financial instrument, that can be considered an instrument of Impact Investing, one of the investment strategies adopted by the Sustainable and Responsible Investors. After a first definitory approach, the author underlines characters and topics of Green Bond, considering also the existing critical issues. The recent European Institutions' Initiatives for the growth od Sustainable Finance are analyzed, with a focus on the realisation of the EU Green Bond Standard, according to the EU Taxonomy on Sustainable Activities. Then, the author considers how Green Bond can be used for financing Sustainable Transports. For reaching this goal, it can be useful to consider the Green Bond Market in its recent evolution. Then, some recent issuances of Green Bond having as eligible projects the Sustainability in transports are described, showing the examples of some international corporate issuances - Mercedes-Benz (2021) and Scania (2020) - and the example of the first Italian Sovereign Green Bond, the BTP Green (March 2021).
In fact, some categories, such as Transport or Adaptation, appear particularly suitable for sovereign funding. On the other side, respondents of a survey highlighted their preference for more Sovereign Green Bond, that can be used by governments to direct resources towards the under-funded sector categories. In fact, it is possible to point out that there are differences between how public and private issuers use the funds raised withGreen Bond. The law-carbon transportation segment is a good example of this. Governments and government-related entities are investing heavily
in infrastructure to electrify and modernize public transportation systems. Considering NN Investment Partners’ funds, it is possible to notice that, as a result, low-carbon transportation accounted for 34% of their Sovereign Green Bond fund portfolio at the end of 2021, while the allocation to this segment in their Corporate Green Bond fund was just over 7%, reflecting the fact that private-sector car manufacturers are still in the early stages of developing and mass producing low-carbon-emission vehicles. Yet, the examples of corporate green bond issuances seen in the present work (Mercedes-Benz and Scania) can show clearly the growing interest of car manufacturers in this way of funding resources
José María Arguedas, poeta y mitógrafo
Some years ago, Ernesto Sábato wisely stated that when philosophers and artists try to reach the imposible, they usually resort to myth or poetry. José María Arguedas, heir to the biculturality of the colonial Inca writer Garcilaso de la Vega, is one of them. As a bridge between two cultures (Andean and European), between two languages (Quechua and Spanish) and between two disciplines (ethnology and literature), the author of Los ríos profundos is, above all, a poet who rewrites the ancient myths of the Andes to help the reader understand the complexities of his contemporary Peru. In this paper we aim to illuminate the particular blending of myth and poetry that characterizes his writing, through close reading of relevant moments of some of his novels, short stories, poems and translations.
