No full textLo studio delle fonti dirette è fondamentale per la storia dell'arte: tra le fonti dirette è opportuno citare i carteggi, dai quali si possono desumere importantissime informazioni sulle opere d'arte e sugli artisti. Tuttavia sono ancora pochi i portali presenti in rete che consentano un accesso libero, rapido e il più completo possibile ai carteggi d'artista.
Il presente lavoro è stato ideato con l'obiettivo di offrire una proposta metodologica per realizzare corpora digitali di carteggi d'artista di qualità, utili, completi, usabili e accessibili. Lo studio è inoltre arricchito con un esempio concreto, il progetto "Carlo Finelli Corpus": si tratta del primo corpus di carteggi d'artista realizzato secondo gli standard della proposta metodologica presentata in questo studio. "Carlo Finelli Corpus" contiene le lettere in formato digitale scritte da Carlo Finelli (1782 - 1853), importante scultore neoclassico di Carrara

No full textIn “Americanism and Fordism”, Antonio Gramsci reverses his conception of intellectuals and theorises the capacity of capital to generate culture directly through its economic and productive activities, without the need to resort to other cultural "agencies" and mediating institutions. For the author of this essay, adopting this valuable insight means understanding how the abstraction of wealth, at the heart of the capitalist system, results in the emptying of the concrete world and its simultaneous reduction to a deceptive surface appearance. Through this dialectic dyad of emptying and superficialisation, the essay attempts to interpret the well-worn postmodernist ideology and the ideology of the infosphere that claims to replace it today, with the same effect of concealing the true reality of capitalist social relations.In "Americanismo e Fordismo", Antonio Gramsci ribalta la sua concezione degli intellettuali e teorizza la capacità del capitale di generare cultura direttamente attraverso le sue attività economiche e produttive, senza la necessità di ricorrere ad altre "agencies" culturali e istituzioni mediatrici. Per l\u27autore di questo saggio, adottare questa preziosa intuizione significa comprendere come l\u27astrazione della ricchezza, al centro del sistema capitalista, si traduca nello svuotamento del mondo concreto e nella sua simultanea riduzione a un\u27ingannevole apparenza superficiale. Attraverso questa diade dialettica di svuotamento e superficializzazione, il saggio tenta di interpretare la logora ideologia postmoderna e l\u27ideologia dell\u27infosfera che pretende di sostituirla oggi, con lo stesso effetto di occultare la vera realtà delle relazioni sociali capitaliste.
Role of blue dye for sentinel lymph node detection in early endometrial cancer
No full textBackground: Sentinel Lymphonode analysis has become a barely new and innovative way to treat early stages of endometrial cancer (Ballester et al., Lancet Oncol 469â476, 2011; Buda et al., Ann Surg Oncol 2975-81, 2016). Indocyanine green cervical injection is considered gold standard for mapping nodesâ drainage. Blue dye is used as a valid alternative in many centers, due to the lower cost of execution. The objective of this video is to prove that methylene blue dyeâs cervical injection is a valid and âlow-costâ method to obtain mapping of lymphatic drainage in patient with early endometrial cancer. Methods: Fifty-four-year old women, with a recent diagnosis of endometrial cancer IA G2, we performed a radical Hysterectomy type A. We diluted in equal proportions the blue dye and saline and injected 1Â cl in depth and 1Â cl on the surface of the cervix, at 3 oâclock and 9 oâclock. After 20Â min, it was shown with precision the lymphatic drainage until the first lymph node station from both sides. Results: One external iliac lymph node and one obturator were resected on the left side and one external iliac on the right side. On histological analysis, none of the lymph nodes had any location of metastasis, neither micro-metastasis. Myometrial infiltration was 8/19Â mm. Conclusions: Blue dye cervical injection is a âlow-costâ, safe, and satisfactory procedure to point out Sentinel Lymph Node of uterus drainage. Other tracers, such as indocyanine green, are widely used in gynecological oncology, but with a higher cost of the product and the needing of a dedicated optical filter to be shown on human view
Laparoscopic Approach for Shull Repair of Pelvic Floor Defects
No full textStudy Objective: To prove the feasibility of the Shull technique by a laparoscopic approach in a patient affected by pelvic organ prolapse (POP) with apical loss of support. Design: A step-by-step video demonstration (Canadian Task Force classification III). Setting: University hospital. Ethics Committee ruled that approval was not required for this study. Patient: A 53-year-old woman with a POP-Q stage IV, left ovarian cyst. Intervention: Laparoscopic uterosacral ligament suspension. Measurements and Main Results: According to the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, approximately 3% of women in the United States report symptoms linked to POP, with approximately 300 000 POP surgeries each year in the United States. More recent studies show a lower reoperation rate of approximately 6% to 30%, and this lower reoperation rate may reflect improvement in surgical technique and POP surgery that includes suspension of the vaginal apex, which is associated with a decreased reoperation rate, commonly done by vaginal vault suspension to uterosacral ligaments. Suturing the apex to the high (proximal) portion of each uterosacral ligament is more commonly performed vaginally, although abdominal and laparoscopic approaches are suitable. It represents a modification of the uterosacral ligament suspension procedure described by Shull. A 53-year-old woman with a POP-Q stage IV, left ovarian cyst and an "elongatio colli" underwent a total hysterectomy and bilateral ovariectomy with vaginal dome uterosacral ligament suspension performed laparoscopically. The total operating time was 80 minutes, with a blood loss volume of less than 50 mL. The patient was hospitalized for 2 days. There were no postoperative complications in 30 days. Conclusion: The Shull laparoscopic surgery for advance POP with reconstruction of the anterior compartment is technically feasible
[Molecular biology in myelodysplastic syndromes and acute myeloid leukemias "smoldering"]
No full textMyelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) are a heterogeneous group of clonal hematopoietic disorders of the myeloid lineage characterized by peripheral cytopenias and frequent leukemic evolution. MDS differ for clinical presentation, disease behavior and progression and this is the reflection of remarkable variability at molecular level. To this moment disease diagnosis is still dependent on bone marrow morphology that, although high concordance rates among experts are reported, remains subjective. Karyotype analysis is mandatory but diagnosis may be difficult in presence of normal karyotype or non-informative cytogenetics. Standardized molecular markers are needed to better define diagnosis, prediction of disease progression and prognosis. Furthermore, a molecular biology analysis could provide an important therapeutic tool towards tailored therapy and new insights in the disease's biology

No full textThe purpose of this essay is to investigate the nature of the ideology that is developing from new information technologies. The basic thesis is that there is a confusion between the accumulation and mathematical processing of “information” on the one hand and “knowledge” on the other. While knowledge, it is argued, is always based on the world of life, as a set of problems that arise from the materialistic, biological, emotional reproduction of a living human body, information represents the most abstract and formal version of it, which can be accumulated and calculated, but whose true meaning always depends on the meaning and reproductive intention of an organic-human life. Those who think of information as knowledge without a foundation in a materialistic and non-linguistic sense, fall into the ideology of conceiving the world as a massive information process and, consequently, of conceiving the human mind as a calculating machinic structure similar to the way a computer works. In this perspective, the essay, taking up the fundamental intuitions expressed by Gramsci in Americanism and Fordism, analyzes the origin of the term “Technology” in Marx\u27s Capital, its distinction of meaning from the term “Technique” and the likely influence exercised in this field on the Marx’s thought from German Technologie, as a fundamental teaching discipline of the 18th century German Cameralism.The purpose of this essay is to investigate the nature of the ideology that is developing from new information technologies.
