No full textLiving Archives perform a function of social memory sharing, which contributes to building social bonds, communities, and identities. This potential lays in the ability of Living Archives to put together an archival function, which allows with the conservation and transmission of memory, with an artistic, performative and creative function linked to the present. As part of the DARE-UIA (Digital environment for colaborative alliances to regenerate urban ecosystem in middle-sized cities) project, the creation of a living digital archive made possible to create a narrative that would consolidate the cultural memory of the Darsena district of the city of Ravenna. The aim of the project is to stimulate the urban regeneration of a suburban area of a city, enhancing its cultural memory and identity heritage, through digital heritage tools. The methodology used involves various digital storytelling actions necessary for the overall narrative using georeferencing systems (GIS), storymaps and 3D reconstructions for a transversal narration of historical content such as personal and institutional historical photos and to enhance the industrial archeology heritage of the neighborhood. The aim is the creation of an interactive and replicable narrative in similar contexts to the Darsena district in Ravenna. The Living Archive, in which all the digital contents are inserted, finds its manifestation towards the outside with the form of a museum spread throughout the neighborhood, making the contents usable on smartphones via QR codes and totems inserted on-site, creating thematic itineraries spread around the neighborhood. The construction of an interactive and engaging digital narrative has made possible to enhance the material and immaterial heritage of the neighborhood by recreating the community that has historically always distinguished it.Gli archivi viventi svolgono una funzione di condivisione sociale della memoria che contribuisce a costruire legami sociali, comunità e identità. Questo potenziale risiede nella capacità degli archivi viventi di mettere insieme una funzione archivistica, che si occupa di conservazione e trasmissione della memoria, con una funzione artistica, performativa e creativa legata al presente. Nell’ambito del progetto DARE-UIA (Digital environment for colaborative alliances to regenerate urban ecosystem in middle sized cities), la creazione di un archivio digitale vivente ha permesso di creare una narrazione che andasse a consolidare la memoria culturale del quartiere Darsena della città di Ravenna. L’obiettivo del progetto è di stimolare un processo di rigenerazione urbana di un quartiere periferico di una città, valorizzandone la memoria culturale e il patrimonio identitario, attraverso strumenti di digital heritage. La metodologia utilizzata ha previsto diverse azioni di digital storytelling necessarie alla narrazione complessiva utilizzando sistemi di georeferenziazione (GIS), storymap e ricostruzioni 3D per una narrazione trasversale di contenuti storici come foto d’epoca personali e istituzionali e per valorizzare il patrimonio di archeologia industriale del quartiere. L’obiettivo principale è la creazione di una narrazione interattiva e replicabile in contesti similari alla Darsena di Ravenna. L’archivio vivente all’interno del quale sono inseriti tutti i contenuti digitali trova la sua manifestazione verso l’esterno con la forma di museo diffuso nel quartiere, rendendo i contenuti fruibili su smartphone tramite QR code e totem inseriti on site, creando percorsi tematici diffusi attorno al quartiere. La costruzione di una narrazione digitale interattiva e coinvolgente ha permesso di valorizzare il patrimonio materiale e immateriale del quartiere ricreando la comunità che storicamente lo ha sempre distinto

Abstract
SiC/SiC ceramic matrix composites (SiCf/SiC CMCs) are regarded as the new materials for the hot-section components of aircraft gas turbine engines, since they have one-third of the density of metallic superalloys, a higher temperature capability, good mechanical strength, and excellent thermal shock resistance. However, high-temperature water-vapor-rich combustion gases can induce severe surface recession phenomena in SiC/SiC leading to component failure. For this reason, it is necessary to design protective coatings, i.e., environmental barrier coatings (EBCs), able to protect the SiC/SiC surface in combustion environments. In the present work, ytterbium monosilicate (Yb2SiO5), stable when exposed to water vapor at high temperatures, and ytterbium disilicate (Yb2Si2O7), characterized by a thermal expansion coefficient closer to that of the substrate, were selected for a multilayer EBC system. EBCs were processed using the atmospheric plasma spray (APS) technique. A set of deposition parameters were tested, varying the power of the torch, and the composition and microstructure of the deposited coatings were studied in terms of porosity, crack density, and post-deposition phase retention by performing SEM, EDS, and XRD analysis. The results allow for the definition of the influence of deposition parameters on the final properties of multilayer EBC coatings

No full textIl saggio colloca storicamente la narratrice e poetessa Giulia Niccolai nel canone del Novecento letterario italiano discutendone poetica e cifre stilistiche. L'ampia analisi proposta tocca tutte le opere dell'autrice evidenziandone i legami intertestuali, anche tra poesia e narrativa, e i progressivi sviluppi in un arco cronologico esteso, tra anni Sessanta e primi anni Duemila. Lo studio coglie anche l'importanza dei riferimenti alle arti visive, in particolare alla fotografia, che Giulia Niccolai ha praticato in prima persona negli anni della Neoavanguardia, e alla pittura americana.The essay places the narrator and poet Giulia Niccolai in the canonical twentieth century Italian literary discussing her poetics and stylistic figures. The wide analysis proposed touches all the works of the author highlighting the intertextual links, also between poetry and narrative, and the progressive developments in an extended chronological period, between the Sixties and early Twenties. The study also captures the importance of references to the visual arts, especially photography, which Giulia Niccolai has practiced in the years of the Neo-avant-garde, and to American painting

Starting from the (supposed) discoursive gap between African and African American people on one side and technology and science fiction on the other, this paradigm addresses themes related to the intersection of African Diaspora and African cultures with technology and science fiction, with the aim to recover the history of slavery and racism through the projections into alternative space-time contexts. In particular, the author explores the feminist afrofuturism perspective in order to examine the specific oppression and cultural production of African and African American women. No full textIn biochemical networks, the steady-state input-output influence is the sign of the output steady-state variation due to a persistent positive input perturbation; if the sign does not depend on the value of the strictly positive system parameters, the influence is structural. As recently shown for small perturbations, when the linearized system approximation is valid, steady-state input-output influences can be structurally assessed, for biochemical networks with m unknown parameters, by means of a vertex algorithm with complexity 2m. This letter shows that the structural input-output influence of a biochemical network is a global property, which does not require any small-perturbation assumption. It also shows that, using a new algorithm, the complexity can be reduced down to 2m-n , where n is the system order, thus drastically reducing the computation time. Finally, when the uncertain parameters belong to known intervals, non-conservative bounds are given for the steady-state ratio between output and input, allowing for sensitivity analysis.Accepted Author ManuscriptTeam Tamas Keviczk

For the newspaper «La Stampa», between 1926 and 1928, he edits the column Luoghi di danza (dance venues), dedicated to ballroom and modern dances. The article investigates the performative nature of Ramperti’s writing, dominated by “staging” devices of the subject matter, as well as by an intrusive presence of the body, first of all that of the author. What emerges is an unprecedented image of the dance in the Twenties, at the same time catalysing the most alienating - and Pirandellian - aspects of modernity, but also a place where genuinely experiencing themselves and the others
