Oxygen and hydrogen isotopic composition and zircon morphology of some Pan-African granites
No full textThe Pan-African orogeny took place throughout the Late Proterozoic and Cambrian time. Its final stage (c.500 Ma) is evidenced by radiometric age determinations. A set of samples from Pan-African granites collected from the Gondwana supercontinent (West Africa, East Africa, Brazil and Antarctica) were studied for their oxygen and hydrogen isotopic composition and zircon morphology. The purpose of this study was to obtain further information on the genesis and geochemical history of these granites. As regards the isotopic composition of single phases, the results generally point to equilibrium conditions. The temperatures obtained from phase-phase equilibrium equations are close to 500°C. The zircon morphology, on the other hand, points to a major role of water activity in the evolution of these granites which, in the light of isotope data, must have taken place at T above 500°C. -from Author
Geology of the Fontane talc mineralization (Germanasca valley, Italian Western Alps)
Full text linkThe 1:5000 scale Geological Map of the Fontane talc mineralization (FTM) aims to give new information about the origin and geological structure of an important talc mineralization occurring in the axial sector of the Italian Western Alps. The FTM is hosted within a pre-Carboniferous polymetamorphic complex which was deformed and metamorphosed during both Variscan and Alpine orogenesis, and is part of the Dora-Maira continental crust. Field mapping and underground investigations highlight that the talc bodies (i) never crop out but occur at depth along a well-defined lithostratigraphic association between micaschist, marble and gneiss and (ii) were deformed during different Alpine-related deformation phases (i.e. D1, D2 and D3 syn-metamorphic phases and post-metamorphic extensional faulting). The here defined lithostratigraphic and structural characterization of talc bodies, is an input for further research into the geodynamic context of where talc forms and for new mineral exploration outside the mapped area

counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
