Chronic Paroxysmal Hemicrania: The First Possible Bilateral Case
There are three headaches syndromes that are typically characterized by strictly unilateral and always same-sided attacks: cluster headache, “cervicogenic” headache, and chronic paroxysmal hemicrania (CPH). In rare cases, cluster headache also occurs bilaterally; “cervicogenic” headaches probably as well. We present a patient with a probable bilateral CPH. To our knowledge no such case has previously been described
A CPH-Like Picture in Two Patients with an Orbitocavernous Sinus Syndrome
Two patients with retroorbital pain syndromes with or without paresis of cranial nerves developed weeks after ipsilateral headache resembling chronic paroxysmal hemicrania (CPH) but without autonomic features. These findings might support the hypothesis that CPH may be caused by a pathological process in the region of the cavernous sinus, as has been proposed for the Tolosa-Hunt syndrome (THS)

SPROSTOWANIE W zeszycie drugim tomu XXXVII „Czasopisma Prawno-Historycznego", dedykowanym Profesorowi Juliuszowi Bardachowi w 50-lecie pracy twórczej, znalazł się przykry błąd: oto w „Tabula Gratulatoria polskich historyków prawa" pominięto nazwisko prof. dra hab. Henryka Kupiszewskiego. Za to niedopatrzenie redakcja przeprasza Profesora Henryka Kupiszewskiego, który jest przyjacielem Jubilata i stałym współpracownikiem CPH

Luminescent Alkynyl Platinum-Cadmiun Complexes: Structural Characterization of an Unusual Decanuclear Cluster [Pt4Cd6(C=CPh)4(mu-C=CPh)12(mu3-OH)4]
The reaction of (NBu4)2[Pt(C≡CPh)4] with Cd(ClO4)2·6H2O in a 1:1 molar ratio yields a white solid [PtCd(C≡CPh)4]n 1 (75% yield) together with yellow crystals of a very unusual decanuclear platinum-cadmium cluster [Pt4Cd6(C≡CPh)4(μ-C≡CPh) 12(μ3-OH)4] 2 in low yield. Slow diffusion of acetonic solutions of the starting materials under aerobic conditions only produces crystals of 2 which have been shown by an X-ray analysis to be composed of a big hexanuclear cation [Cd6(μ3-OH)4]8+ and four [Pt(C≡CPh)4]2- anions, held together by Pt···Cd and π···Cd acetylide interactions. On the other hand, treatment of the insoluble product 1 with 1 equiv of NBu4X yields tetranuclear mixed-metal soluble complexes (NBu4)2[{Pt(μ-C≡CPh)4} 2(CdX)2] (X=Cl A, Br 3, CN 4), which contain two platinate fragments connected by two CdX units through Pt···Cd and mainly Cd···Cα interactions. All complexes are strongly emissive in the solid state at room temperature
