Ceramics, lithic industry on fl int, lithic industry on greenstone do not diff erentiate it from other contemporary sites in northern Italy. Instead, it stands out for its location near a lake, for the adaptation of housing structures to the humid environment, for the development of an economy linked to the exploitation of the resources off ered by the lake and hunting, in which productive activities have a secondary role. ese characteristics must be taken into account in defi ning the Full Neolithic of the Po Valley. Our contribution is dedicated in particular to the lithic industry on fl int: it should be emphasized that the Neolithics of Molino Casarotto did not use the closest Berici and Euganei fl ints, but were constantly supplied by the central-western Lessini, where there are lithic resources particularly suitable and sought after for the production of a macrolithic industry characterized by strong laminariness

Dyslexya isn’t a simple perceptive deficit but a more complex one linked to the malfunctioning of high cognitive functions. An early diagnosis is necessary in order to recover a good reading ability and good social relations. The author analyses the various interpretative hypothesis regarding this heterogeneous disease which involves different neuronal and functional circuits. Basically two main theoretical models are described, both focalizing the attention to the neurophysiological damage (thanks to the new diagnostic imaging techniques) and to the macroscopic anatomical damage of specific areas of the brain. The role of neuropsychology is enhanced through the study of the brain’s electrical and muscular reactions following reading aloud visible alphabet letters

Dynamic time warping in the analysis of event-related potentials

The aim of this article is to compute reliable templates of event-related potentials (ERPs) for homogeneous groups of subjects and to automatically quantify the morphological characteristics of the ERPs. We developed a method based on dynamic time warping (DTW). The method was applied to ERPs recorded from normal and dyslexic children during two reading tasks. We found that characteristic latency and amplitude changes of ERP components are due to task and pathology. Our results support the idea that dyslexia involves different and complex cerebral functions aside from the language system. This mathematical approach provides reproducible analysis criteria that are crucial for the reliability of ERP analysis

This study aims to identify within the value chain of technology-based companies in Florianópolis points and forms of cooperation within the concept of cooperative networks of small and medium enterprises. First is a survey of the literature on the subject, dealing with topics such as benchmarking, networks of small and medium enterprises, and methods for forming consortia and the identification of points and forms of cooperation. It´s based on a methodology already developed in a research line in the Post-Graduation program in Production Engineering of Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, which uses benchmarking and analysis of the value chain, to perform a diagnosis of business performance and locate possible points of cooperation. A new questionnaire was developed. The application was performed in a group of four technology companies in the Florianópolis Region. With the application of the methodology was possible to describe the value chain of each of the companies studied and identify areas of cooperation within the group. These points, as well as the methodology have been validated by applying a second questionnaire seeking the group's agreement or disagreement on the results of research

    The psychophysiology of reading

Early identification of dyslexiawould be fundamental to prevent the negative consequences of delayed treatment in the social, psychological and occupational domains. Movement-related potentials of dyslexic children are characterized by inadequate ability to programmovements and reduced capacity to evaluate their performance and to correct their errors. Reading-related potentials recorded during different reading conditions elicit a series of positive and negative components with specific functional meaning and with a characteristic spatial-temporal pattern. These reading-related potentials, when analyzed with sLORETA, show significantly different patterns of activation when comparing self-paced reading aloud to passive viewing of single letters. Comparison of fMRI and sLORETA during both tasks showed that the cortical region with the widest inter-modality similarities is the middle-superior temporal lobe during self-paced reading aloud. Neuropsychological studies have shown the existence of clinical subtypes of dyslexia; these studies have been confirmed by the results of ICA applied to the EEG. Dyslexia can be defined as a disorder of programming and integrating ideokinetic elements, associated with a deficiency in the fast processing and integration of sensory information, with reduced efficiency of error systems analysis. Each of these phenomena occurs at different levels of the central nervous system and at different times
