No full textWe illustrate a MATLAB implementation of two-step spline collocation methods for the numerical solution of fractional differential equations, introduced by Cardone, Conte and Paternoster in (Discrete Dyn. Syst. Ser. B 23(7) 2709--2725 (2018)). The computational tasks include the evaluation of fractional integrals, a suitable starting procedure, and the efficient computation of the coefficients of certain polynomials. The whole algorithm is described in detail. Some numerical experiments show the performances of the proposed algorithm

Además le comunica que conoce a ciertos autores españoles porque los ha nombrado en algunas de sus obras (Suárez, Santa Teresa de Ávila, Unamuno) pero que desconoce a otros (Francisco de Vitoria, Fray Luís de León).- Observaciones: Se conserva el sobre con un sello. No full textWe consider a two-dimensional quantum waveguide composed of two semi-strips of width 1 and 1 - epsilon, where epsilon > 0 is a small real parameter, i.e. the waveguide is gently converging. The width of the junction zone for the semi-strips is 1 + O(root epsilon). We will present a sufficient condition for the existence of a weakly coupled bound state below pi(2), the lower bound of the continuous spectrum. General Linear Methods with Large Regions of Absolute Stability
No full textWe describe the construction of general linear methods in Nordsieck form of order p and stage order q = p with large regions of absolute stability. We review the concepts of Runge-Kutta and quadratic stability and inherent Runge-Kutta and inherent quadratic stability [3] which aid in
the construction of general linear methods with desirable stability properties. We also derive the representation formulas for some of the coefficient matrices of Nordsieck methods [1]. The search for these methods is based on maximizing the area of the intersection of the region of absolute stability with the negative complex plane by various optimization routines [2]. We first construct
quadratic polynomials with large regions of absolute stability and then search for methods whose stability functions matches these stability polynomials. The efficient computation of coefficients of these polynomials utilizes the fast Fourier transform. Examples of methods obtained in this way are presented up to the order six. This is a joint work with A. Cardone from University of Salerno, and H. Mittelmann from Arizona State University.
