    WEIGHT LOSS IN MALIGNANCIES

    No full text
Background: One of the most common causes of weight loss is malignant tumours (especially gastrointestinal, pancreatic, lung, lymphoma, renal and prostate cancers), which often cause weight loss through various mechanisms of this phenomenon [6]. A plethora of current reports state that unintentional weight loss (UWL) may be used as a marker prior to the development of malignant processes. Most studies suggest that the main endogenous sources of energy during weight loss progression in cancer are primarily triglycerides in adipose tissue and skeletal muscle protein [3]. Conclusions: We can report with certainty that weight loss is an important prognostic factor in cancer; the greater the degree of weight loss, the shorter the survival time. The prognostic effect of weight loss is greater in patients with a better prognosis. The aim of this literature review was to explain the pathogenetic chains involved in involuntary weight loss in malignant processes with the development of cancer cachexia, also reporting clinical signs and complications of these

    No full text
The moldavian playwright, Nicoleta Esinencu, is the author of “Dans ta gueule “ texts with provoking titles and language abuse. She violently denounces the acts of her fellow citizens under the communist regime and their current political behaviours. In her three monologues FUCK YOU, Eu.ro.Pa !, A (II) Rh+, Mères sans chatte, the family satire drifts towards a national patriotic criticism. Although Esinencu provokes her fellow citizens, she ill-treats them and calls them “forwards” in the sense that she entices them to move forwards : etymologically speaking she “calls them out” of themselves so as to build themselves otherwise : the exaggerated situations and the violence she resorts to are balanced-off by an original literary and theatrical construction of her monologues supposed to entice the public to create a new moldavian man

Handling Ophelia: a Story in Four Unscripted Scenes

    No full text
Referring to several European productions of Hamlet between 2001 and 2014, Nicoleta Cinpoeş in this article examines the stage struggle to ‘recuperate’ an Ophelia that both discursive criticism and visual objectification bury prematurely, albeit by different means and for different aims, when they claim, in Laertes's words: ‘The woman will be out.’ She takes Laertes's words to mean both taking the woman out and putting the woman on view, and offers a preliminary survey of the customary textual cuts and their effect on Ophelia's part, exploring ‘the four unscripted scenes’ of three directors – Vlad Mugur, Radu Alexandru Nica, and Jan Klata – and their impact on Ophelia's role as found in Shakespeare's play. Nicoleta Cinpoeş is Principal Lecturer at the University of Worcester and author of Shakespeare's Hamlet in Romania 1778–2008 (Mellen, 2010) as well as editor of, and contributor to, Doing Kyd (Manchester University Press, 2016). She has published articles in Shakespeare Bulletin, SEDERI, Testi e linguaggi, Arrêts sur scène, Theatrical Blends, and Studia Dramatica

The legal text: constitution, concepts, characteristics

    No full text
According to the constructive interdisciplinarity, the text draws attention of the theorists for several decades. In the new approaches, the text calls for complex research, including research centered on determining the mechanisms of producing and meaning understanding. A legal text is very different from ordinary speech. The concept of text is not identical at all authors, and sometimes it does not even have the same acceptance for one and the same author. However the legal text is based on the use of language, which is more than a stock of words, it is an instrument and an image, an object of power that seeks to be captured. The legal text reflects the terms and expressions of a legal system. In the legal text, language is a means of expression and texts constitute the main object of study. It is indisputable that law could not exist without a means of expression. The legal texts are very different depending on the type of legal act and its transmitters, are not uniform, as the legislator issues law, the judges speak it, the jurists comment on it, and the practitioners apply it. The style of law will differ from the style of a court order or a regulation. The proper drafting of the various types of texts is very important if we want the legal rules to be effective, that the judgments have exactly the same value that the judges impose on them, that the intention of the parties to a bilateral act to be expressed in the proper way. From this perspective, legal texts need to be coherent, drafted in impeccable style with the clearv use of terminology.Baghici, Nicoleta. No full text
Introducere. Background. Dermatomyositis (DM) in adults is a rare, acquired autoimmune disease with organic involvement, characterized by inflammatory and degenerative changes mainly in muscles and skin. Objective of the study. Study of epidemiological, etiological and clinical data in patients with DM. Material and methods. To achieve the proposed goal, we performed the analysis of the literature review between the years 2014 - 2024, using 35 bibliographic sources, including data from the electronic libraries PubMed, MedScape, ScienceDirect, NIH. Results. The incidence of dermatomyositis is 9.63:1 000 000 people (13.98-women and 4.68-men), with a higher prevalence in Southern Europe compared to Northern Europe, predominantly in urban areas, especially in age 40-60 years. Etiologically, it is assumed that the disease develops because of the pathological activation of the complement system under the influence of genetic, immune, and environmental factors. Clinically, it starts with skin manifestations in 50% of cases (Gottron papules, heliotrope rash, facial erythema, shawl sign, V sign, heel sign, poikiloderma, mechanic’s hands, scalp damage, calcinosis cutis). Symmetric, proximal muscle weakness appears in 25-50% of cases, but there are also amyopathic cases, often accompanied by malignant processes. Interstitial lung disease occurs in 30-40% of cases. Dysphagia is common, heart involvement is less common. Conclusion. The application of knowledge about the etiology, clinical signs, and diagnostic criteria contributes to the confirmation of the diagnosis and the initiation of early treatment to obtain remission and/or improve the prognosis of dermatomyositis

Dalším cílem bylo porovnat zjištěné parametry s výsledky a doporučeními z evropské a světové literatury, identifikovat shodné a odlišné parametry a zkoumat důvody těchto rozdílů. Výsledky: Výsledky našeho měření ukázaly, že správná délka kroků ,...Author: Nicoleta Turnerová Title: Analysis of the acceleration phase at short hurdles Objectives: The aim of my bachelor thesis was to analyse the acceleration phase of the 100m hurdles sprint in women. Within this analysis I examined stride length, stride frequency, duration of the resistance and flight phases of the 100m hurdles. Another aim was to compare the observed parameters with results and recommendations from European and world literature, to identify the same and different parameters and to investigate the reasons for these differences. The measurements were supported by high-speed video recording to allow a detailed analysis of the acceleration technique during hurdles running and to identify possible errors in women's hurdles running. Methods: or the purpose of this bachelor thesis, measurements were made at the athletics stadium of ASK Slavia Prague. The research population included eight active female hurdlers in the age category from 22 to 28 years, some of whom regularly place at the top of the Czech Republic Championships. THE FREEDOMS OF MOVEMENT OF THE SINGLE MARKET

    No full text
The European Single Market implies not only the free movement of goods and services, but also the free movement of production factors (the capital and the labor force). The liberalization of goods and services and of production factors movement has determined, on the short term, the appearance of some structural and specialization adjustment processes within the member countries, and on the long term a more efficient allocation of the production factors, an improvement of labor productivity and positive effects in the field of labor force employment. According to the neoclassical theory, the labor force migrates from regions with low wages and low profit rates, to regions having high wages and high profit rate. Thus, the production factors are used in a more productive way. According to this theory, the factors mobility contributes to the equalization of the wages and to a better factors allocation. Issues such as structural funds, persons' freedom of movement, convergence could be turned into advantages by any member state, and especially by a new member state. From an economic perspective, the causes of labor force mobility, as a production factor, are: the price differences (wage differences, profit rates differences, interest rates differences) - according to neoclassical theory; income difference, meaning saving excess or insufficiency for the capital, according to Keynes approach; differences in the level of economic development, determining unequal changes, according to the monetarists. Romania has become a European Union member at January, the 1st, 2007. The accession road has been a long one, full of challenges, issues, but also satisfactions. The 1st of January has not been the end of a process, but the beginning of a new period for Romania's present history. The author will try to emphasize the freedoms of movement of the Single Market. The humanitarian reasons also determine the migration of the population; these are the refugees, the asylum solicitors, the persons having temporary protection or persons accepted for other humanitarian reasons.Economic Integration, Models of Trade with Imperfect Competition, Labor Market Interactions, freedom, movement
