No full textMorphological and ultrastructural changes were studied in Ictalurus sp. barbel taste buds (TBs), exposed to sublethal concentrations (3 ppm) of sodium alkylbenzene sulphonate for periods varying from 3 to 15 days. No significant alterations were noted after 3 days while, after just 6 days damage began to appear. The blood vessels were dilated and larger, more numerous intercellular spaces were observed between the light and dark TB cells than were to be found in the controls, but the basal portion of the TB was unaltered. After 9-12 days the most prominent features were the rupture of the plasma membranes, loss of microvillar organization of the light and dark cells as well as an increase in cytoplasmatic vacuolization. The skin was damaged and the germinative layer of the epidermis appeared activated and its height had increased. About 30% of the TBs were affected, and after 15 days they were severely damaged, whilst the feeding behaviour changed from day 6 onwards

No full textParlare di disabilità, avendo come punto di riferimento lo scenario della scuola meridionale, comporta, necessariamente, ampliare l’angolo di visuale cercando di compenetrare, con compatibili indici di attendibilità, quanto è avvenuto nel corso degli anni, non solo nel settore specifico, oggetto di analisi, bensì all’interno di un più ampio spettro fenomenico i cui sviluppi sono stati determinati da fattori plurimi e complessi, che riguardano, in primis, l’incidenza della ricerca scientifica, fino a comprendere fatti, fenomeni ed eventi innovativi di portata socio-culturale e politico-istituzionale declinatisi ai diversi livelli: locale, regionale, nazionale europeo e internazionale.
L’aspirazione del presente lavoro, quindi, è quella di offrire uno spaccato, senza ambizione di esaustività, circa quanto si è venuto via via a devolvere nel settore dell’inserimento, interazione e inclusione delle persone disabili in Calabria, certamente non rimasta avulsa rispetto a tutte le possibili e immaginabili ripercussioni provocate dai macro-sistemi in un mondo notoriamente, di certo non da ora, globalizzato.
Di conseguenza, l’attenzione sarà rivolta all’evoluzione di alcuni processi connessi con il soddisfacimento dei diritti delle persone disabili, che hanno costituito anche il banco di prova, non solo per evitare differenziazioni e sbalzi in un contesto ritenuto unitario e salvaguardato nella sua omogeneità dall’intervento dello Stato impegnato nell’educazione e nella formazione dei cittadini per dettato costituzionale, e come volano di una ricerca che ha contribuito bensì alla determinazione, alla affermazione, al consolidamento di discipline inedite come la pedagogia e la didattica speciale.
In tale contesto funzione rilevante è stata svolta dalla ricerca-azione che ha permesso, dal basso, di realizzare anche nel Mezzogiorno buone pratiche, diventato patrimonio diffuso senza frontiere con una ricaduta positiva anche in termine di codificazione in norme giacché risultati, diffusamente apprezzati, sono stati, altresì, validati

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
