Guide to the Walter C. Foreman Correspondence
The collection consists of 129 letters written to and by Walter C. Foreman between the years 1912 and 1915, mostly at the time he served as manager of the Tri-City Sanitarium in Moline, Illinois and concerned with operations there. However, it is evident that Mr. Foreman also served in an official capacity in his church and some of the letters pertain to tithe, membership transfer and the like. Walter Satterthwait, author of a series of contemporary crime novels, talks about his protagonists Joshua Croft and Rita Mondragon, and his novels set in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Satterthwait describes how he came to writing crime stories and why he chose to use a Latina as a main character. He describes his exposure to different cultures, his childhood of frequent moves, how he came to writing, and how he developed his characters.
