The Failure of The Latin Monetary Union : a Warning for The Economic Monetary Union?
No full textAvec l’entrée en vigueur du traité sur l’Union monétaire latine (ULM, 1865), la France, l’Italie, la Belgique et la Suisse établirent un système spécial d’échange entre leurs monnaies afin de les rendre librement utilisables dans leurs territoires nationaux. Mais cette forme particulière d’intégration économique et monétaire échoua pour plusieurs raisons analysées dans cette étude. La crise de l’UML semble présenter des points intéressants de comparaison avec l’actuelle expérience de la crise de l’Euro. Cette contribution souligne que la zone de l’Euro (UME) et l’Union monétaire latine sont entrées en crise en raison de l’absence d’une politique économique commune entre les États participants aux unions monétaires respectives. Ce qui s’est produit au sein de l’Union monétaire latine peut également se produire au sein de la zone de l’Euro

No full textIl presente contributo sviluppa una riflessione intorno al binomio resistenze/esistenze precarie nel lavoro della conoscenza, a partire dall’esperienza di un gruppo di assegniste coinvolte in un progetto di ricerca focalizzato su genere e precarietà in accademia. L’articolo affronta aspetti epistemologici e metodologici legati al posizionamento delle autrici, esse stesse parte del proprio «oggetto di studio». Utilizzando la traccia di intervista proposta ai/lle ricercatori/trici precari/e coinvolti/e nell’indagine, viene presentata un’analisi in chiave auto-riflessiva sul duplice posizionamento dei s/oggetti di ricerca. Nelle conclusioni, si discute della possibilità di costruire soggettività collettive in un sistema accademico caratterizzato da una situazione di precarietà strutturale

A C-band high efficiency second harmonic tuned hybrid power amplifier in GaN technology
No full textIn this contribution a C-Band 2nd harmonic tuned hybrid power amplifier utilizing a PHEMT GaN device is presented,together with technological aspects, non linear device model and adopted design criteria. The amplifier has been realised in hybrid form, exhibiting a bandwidth larger than 20% around 5.5GHz, with a minimum output power of 33 dBm, and a drain efficiency of 60% at the centre frequency
When Age Is Academically Constructed : The Endless Status of Youth of Italian Early Career Researchers
No full textBased on the findings of research conducted in a university located in Northern Italy, this chapter analyses the different discursive constructions of age that are mobilized at the national level and how they are translated in two university departments – one of which was science, technology, engineering and mathematics and the other, social sciences and humanities (SSH). The ageing of academic staff in Italy is a core issue in the debate on the sustainability and quality of the scientific productivity of the academic system. The coexistence of such broad-ranging academic profiles makes the required criteria to obtain a position as assistant professor a space of negotiation and/or conflict. In the SSH department, there was then also an organizational discourse that somehow, though not explicitly, supported the candidates who had spent many years within the same department. The chapter discusses how the concept of age is mobilized within institutional and organizational discourses in Italian academia
