Unveiling 'The Scream' by Edvard Munch: Iterative Fuzzy c-Means Analysis of Macro-XRF Mapping

    No full text
"The Scream" by Edvard Munch belonging to the Munch Museum in Oslo has been analyzed using Macro X-ray Fluorescence (MA-XRF). The non-invasive imaging technique unveiled the elemental distribution of the inorganic materials of the painting and brought to light the artist's palette. The semi-unsupervised classification of MA-XRF datacube through an iterative Fuzzy C-Means (FCM)based analysis was applied to shed light on the complex pigment mixture and execution technique used to create the iconic representation of "The Scream".The analysis revealed the relationship between the main pigments and some other distinctive pigments characterized by low XRF intensities, such as cadmium yellows and oranges. The combination of a well-known investigating technique, such as MA-XRF, with the use of advanced algorithms, provided new informative chemical images representing Munch's painting technique

Munch: The Better Way to Eat and Experience Dining

abstract: The market for searching for food online is exploding. According to one expert at Google, “there are over 1 billion restaurant searches on Google every month (Kelso, 2020). To capture this market and ride the general digital trend of internet personalization (as evidenced by Google search results, ads, YouTube and social media algorithms, etc), we created Munch to be an algorithm meant to help people find food they’ll love. Munch offers the ability to search for food by restaurant or even as specific as a menu item (ex: search for the best Pad Thai). The best part? It is customized to your preferences based on a quiz you take when you open the app and from that point continuously learns from your behavior. This thesis documents the journey of the team who founded Munch, what progress we made and the reasoning behind our decisions, where this idea fits in a competitive marketplace, how much it could be worth, branding, and our recommendations for a successful app in the future. The objective of this article is to analyze the intertextuality between poetry and painting in the book Under the brightness of the moon, through concept of ecfrasis. It takes into consideration theoretical and methodological approaches of William Mitchell, Michael Rifaterre, Pedro Agudelo and Luz Pimentel. The hypothesis is that the poet recreates paintings of Edvard Munch to explore the process of artistic creation. It concludes that the book contributes to Colombian poetry based on painting. Its poems reinvent Munch and exalt art as a dignified home when the author suffers madness, disenchantment and fear of death.El objetivo de este artículo es analizar la intertextualidad entre poesía y pintura en el libro Bajo el brillo de la luna, a partir del concepto de ecfrasis. It\u27s time to head to rewrite. The Yankees have sent Cracker Jack packing from the House that Ruth Built. Crunch \u27n Munch will replace the traditional baseball snack because, says Yankee spokesperson Jason Zillo, it tastes better. Yankee Stadium\u27s Director of Hospitality offered another more compelling reason for the move. Cracker Jack is eliminating the box in favor of a bag. Well, that certainly explains it. No one has mentioned what Crunch \u27n Munch is paying the Yankees for their new status in the national pastime
