A disciplina de matemática e o fracasso escolar na 5ª série de uma escola municipal de Florianópolis
No full textTCC (graduação) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Ciências Físicas e Matemáticas.Este trabalho visa analisar o fracasso escolar em matemática na 5ª série de uma escola da rede municipal de Florianópolis, no período de 1999 a 2008, sendo este feito a partir de um levantamento de dados dos últimos dez anos, em material cedido pela supervisão do estabelecimento. Preliminarmente, veremos estatisticamente no Brasil, a situação do fracasso escolar, atualmente, bem como suas concepções e evidentes causas. Serão analisados alguns aspectos como a média dos alunos, referente à disciplina de matemática, a idade de cada um, visando investigar a repetência e o atraso escolar. Faremos um estudo sobre de quem é a culpa ou responsabilidade desse fracasso e veremos como está a atual situação na escola analisada, e o que os alunos acham da disciplina de matemática na 5ª série, já que estão na fase de transição da 4ª para a 5ª série onde, no ano anterior, havia um professor lecionando todo o conteúdo curricular, e agora existe um professor para cada disciplina

No full textTCC (graduação) - Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Centro de Filosofia e Ciências Humanas, Curso de Ciências Sociais.O presente estudo tem como objetivo identificar o perfil racial e o sexo dos estudantes que compõem os quadros de distorção (idade-série, repetência e evasão escolar) nas escolas públicas de Ensino Fundamental de Santa Catarina. Parte-se do pressuposto de que a incidência dos determinantes do fracasso escolar seja distinta nos grupos de estudantes de diferente raça/cor e sexo. A partir de uma leitura sociológica sobre educação, foi possível compreender que essa diferença pode estar relacionada a fatores de ordem cultural, social, econômica, entre outros. Nesse sentido, foram selecionadas variáveis preditoras e explicativas extraídas do “Questionário Aluno da Prova Brasil - 2007”. Com auxílio do software SPSS, foram produzidos procedimentos estatísticos para sistematizar e ampliar a análise do banco dados, visando não só identificar quem está em situação de fracasso escolar, mas também perceber quais são os principais fatores que contribuem para existência desses determinantes. No seu conjunto, os indicadores produzidos sinalizam que a incidência de estudantes em situação de fracasso escolar é maior entre os estudantes autodeclarados pardos e pretos, o que pode estar correlacionado a fatores ad extra à realidade escolar

No full textIl saggio analizza per la prima volta nei minimi dettagli tutte le fonti disponibili sul fondatore della dinastia Shang (c. 1554-1045 a.C.), la seconda delle tre dinastie pre-imperiali della storia cinese. Le diverse sezioni forniscono indicazioni sulla semi-leggendaria figura di Cheng Tang raccogliendo e analizzando i materiali letterari relativi a genealogia, cronologia, appellativi, aspetto fisico, famiglia, gesta e imprese; utilizzando alcune centinaia di iscrizioni paleografiche di natura rituale e divinatoria identificate nelle cosiddette ‘ossa oracolari’, la parte conclusiva analizza inoltre il culto ancestrale del fondatore durante il regno degli ultimi nove re Shang (c. 1225-1045 a.C.)
Percepções de alunos da 7a. série com desempenho escolar esperado e aquém do esperado sobre seus próprios desempenhos e de seus colegas

Programa de Pós-Graduação em PsicologiaEstudos sobre relações entre fracasso escolar, desemprego juvenil e déficits em aspectos psicossociais e da saúde demonstram que jovens com história de fracasso escolar têm mais dificuldade na integração social e na inserção no mercado de trabalho do que jovens sem história de fracasso. O objetivo desse estudo foi o de caracterizar as percepções de alunos de 7ª série sobre seus próprios desempenhos e de seus colegas. Essa caracterização poderá contribuir para uma revisão crítica do papel da escola e dos procedimentos para educar utilizados por pais e professores. Participaram alunos que apresentaram desempenho escolar aquém do esperado (NA) e seus colegas com desempenho esperado (A). A coleta de dados ocorreu por meio de um roteiro de entrevista e questões derivadas da sociometria. Os resultados indicam que há uma modificação na percepção que o aluno tem da escola em sua trajetória escolar. De uma aprovação inicial, de praticamente todos alunos, há uma redução na quantidade de indicações sobre querer permanecer na escola. Todos os alunos atribuem ao futuro pessoal e profissional o motivo pelo qual vêem à escola e fazem mais referências positivas ao indicarem o que acham da escola onde estudam. Essas #verbalizações positivas#, sugerem que os alunos estejam reproduzindo aquilo que ouvem no próprio ambient
Evolution of the dystrophin muscular promoter and 5 ' flanking region in primates
No full textAbout 1.6 kb of the noncoding region upstream of the muscular dystrophin gene was sequenced in human and other primates. The alignment showed the existence of many stretches of conserved sequences among the compared species distributed all along the investigated fragment, including the 5' end. In correspondence to these conserved boxes, we identified several new putative cis-acting elements that have similarity to known control regions of other muscle-specific genes. In some cases, however, the conserved sequences did not correspond to any known transcription factor binding sites. The rate of evolution estimated site by site all along the investigated region revealed a nonhomogeneous distribution of the substitution rate, several sequences exhibited a very slow rate of evolution suggesting that evolutionary forces of different nature may be at work. On the basis of the sequence alignment, we reconstructed the phylogenetic relationships within the hominoid lineage. In addition, we estimated the relative rate of evolution between hominoid and Old World monkeys, confirming the existence of an evolutionary slowdown in the hominoid lineage
SERS active gold nanostructures for selective and ultrabright biolabelling: synthesis and quantitative study
No full textSurface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) probes based on gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) – organic dyes nanocomposites disclosed new opportunities for multiplexed ultrasensitive biolabelling in vitro or in vivo. SERS labels also have excellent biocompatibility and can be excited with near infrared laser sources, that match the transparency window of biological tissues. Here we report about the preparation of AuNPs obtained by laser ablation synthesis in solution (LASiS)[1,2] and their functionalization with a series of Raman reporter with different spectral fingerprints. The effective differential Raman scattering cross section of these labels were evaluated using liquid Raman standards and the analysis of the surface plasmon band of AuNPs with the Mie – Gans models.[3] We estimated that few (<10) SERS labels are enough to collect a clear Raman spectrum with a common Raman spectrometer. SERS labels were used for the study of nanoparticles uptake in macrophages[4] in order to quantify the number of nanoparticles phagocytized after different times. The conjugation of SERS labels with antibodies that selectively binds antigens over-expressed by specific types of cancerous cells is under investigation for the antibody – directed selective ultrasensitive detection and imaging of cancer.

A comparative digital morphometric study of lung tissue in saltwater and freshwater drowning
No full textAcute pulmonary emphysema (APE) is describedin cases of drowning and can be considered as a sign of vitality. In our experience, however, APE is not very evident in cases of saltwater drowning. The present study aims at investigating whether APE is present in both fresh and saltwater drowning by means of digital morphometric analysis of lung tissue. We investigated and compared a group of saltwater drowning and a group of freshwater drowning, while cases of acute external bleeding were investigated as negative control group. Tissue samples from each pulmonary lobe were collected during autopsy and examined by optical microscope. The area of alveolar spaces was calculated by means of image analysis software, recording the mean alveolar area (MAA) for each group. MAA was 24,852 μm 2 in the saltwater drowning group, 34,133 μm 2 in the freshwater drowning group and 21,871 μm 2 in the negative control group. The MAA in freshwater drowning was significantly higher than in saltwater drowning and controls. No statistical differences were observed between saltwater drowning and controls. The results of this study suggest that APE is not a typical sign of death by saltwater drowning
Spin-isospin nuclear response using the existing microscopic Skyrme functionals
No full textOur paper aims at providing an answer to the question of whether one can reliably describe the properties of the
most important spin-isospin nuclear excitations by using the available nonrelativistic Skyrme energy functionals.
Our method, which has been introduced in a previous publication devoted to the isobaric analog states, is the
self-consistent quasiparticle random-phase approximation (QRPA). The inclusion of pairing is instrumental for
describing a number of experimentally measured spherical systems which are characterized by open shells. We
discuss the effect of isoscalar and isovector pairing correlations. Based on the results for the Gamow-Teller
resonance in 90Zr, 208Pb, and a few Sn isotopes, we draw definite conclusions on the performance of different Skyrme parametrizations, and we suggest improvements for future fits. We also use the spin-dipole resonance as a benchmark of our statement
