Variations on the Author
No full text“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Anheuser-Busch and The EU

Included is background information about Anheuser-Busch containing its products, financial condition, and major competitors within the EU. I have provided extensive analysis o f the areas of concern for Anheuser-Busch in the EU as well as recommendations for the company to consider. The major market for opportunity covered is Germany. Anheuser-Busch is not a current competitor in Germany, however, possible expansion opportunities into the country is addressed. Additionally, a realistic outlook of Anheuser-Busch’s future other EU countries is provided. Novel Multimodal Precision Medicine Approaches and the Relevance of Developmental Trajectories in Bipolar Disorder
No full textThere is a pressing need to establish objective measures to improve diagnosis, prediction, prevention, and treatment of bipolar disorder (BD). Multimodal artificial intelligence (AI) tools could provide these means by incorporating various layers of data orthogonally related to BD, including genomics and other omics, environmental exposures, imaging measures, electronic health records, cognition, sensing devices, and clinical variables. These rapidly evolving AI models hold promise to capture the multidimensional complexity of BD and delineate clinically relevant developmental trajectories that could guide clinical care and therapeutic strategies. In this review, we describe the potential of mapping developmental trajectories that underlie BD, outline how novel multimodal models could improve the prediction of BD and related outcomes, and discuss specific clinical use cases and key ethical and practical challenges regarding the development and potential implementation of these multimodal AI solutions to advance precision medicine approaches in BD

Modeling Kinetics and Structural Properties in High-Pressure Fluid-Phase Polymerization
No full textThe present contribution provides an overview of actual applications in modeling free-radical polymerizations. Topics of interest are the simulation of pulsed laser polymerization experiments with subsequent analysis of the formed product by size exclusion chromatography (PLP-SEC), single pulse laser experiments, experimental techniques for determining rate coefficients of elementary reactions that control polymer properties, and technical applications. Aspects being investigated are model validation and testing predictive potential in polymerization models using well-defined experiments as well as developing and testing experimental strategies for deriving rate coefficients of elementary reactions that exist (especially when dealing with copolymerizations) within a network of complex coupled reactions, in any of these fields remarkable success in modeling can be achieved. This demonstrates the great potential that can grow from combining modem mathematical methods, computational power and detailed kinetic insights into the mechanism of polymerization It is the wide scope of applications, e.g. ranging from modeling kinetics to the investigation of termination processes being dependent on the chain-length of the macroradical (as an example of pure fundamental research) to modeling of technical reactors, that provides attractiveness and defines challenges. Especially, the success in transforming results directly from laboratory experiments into technical applications justifies laborious efforts in determining highly precise rate coefficients and proves the concept breaking down a complex process into elementary subparts. A necessary boundary condition for this is keeping in mind the demands along the whole scope of applications and avoiding simplifications that are only applicable for part of them. Although at a first glance this may appear to hinder fast progress in one discipline, it is the essential require ment for final success
Anheuser-Busch InBev : “The King of Beers”
No full textThe aim of this thesis is to value Anheuser-Busch InBev equity, the #1 brewer in the world
headquartered in Belgium, in order to achieve an intrinsic share value and compare it to the market
price as of the 31th December of 2017.
However, the valuation of any company is not an exact science. To do so, a literature review was
carried with the goal of setting and applying best practices to Anheuser-Busch InBev’s valuation.
Following that assessment, several valuation methodologies were conducted leading to different
results. Based on self-knowledge and in the insights absorbed in literature, I assigned weights to
the methods according to their relevance and accuracy to calculate an estimated share value as of
today. Alongside, a sensitivity analysis was performed with the purpose of assessing the impact of
several inputs on Anheuser-Busch InBev’s share value. As reference and validation, a research
analyst consensus was also taken into account to establish the final target price.
The ultimate output is a 12-month forward price with a hold recommendation as the share value is
close to the current market share price of Anheuser-Busch InBev.O principal objetivo desta tese é avaliar o capital acionista da Anheuser-Busch InBev, a maior
cervejeira do mundo sediada na Bélgica, de forma a calcular um valor intrínseco por ação e
compará-lo com o valor a que a ação está cotada em mercado à data de 31 de Dezembro de 2017.
No entanto, a avaliação de qualquer empresa não é uma ciência exata. Em primeiro lugar, foi
realizada uma revisão académica e teórica, de forma a estabelecer e aplicar “melhores práticas” e
regras à avaliação da Anheuser-Busch InBev. Após essa revisão, várias metodologias de avaliação
foram consideradas, atingindo diferentes resultados. Com base em conhecimento próprio adquirido
e dos inputs da revisão literária, foi dado um peso a cada um dos métodos utilizados, em função da
sua relevância e exatidão no cálculo do valor por ação à data de hoje. Paralelemente, foi considerada
uma análise de sensibilidade com o objetivo de acomodar o impacto de variados fatores no cálculo
do valor por ação. Como referência e validação, uma média de preços por ação estabelecido por
diversos analistas de bancos de investimentos foi tida em consideração para estabelecer o preço
intrínseco final por ação.
O resultado final foi um valor por ação previsto para daqui a um ano com uma recomendação neutra
de compra em função do preço a que as ações da Anheuser-Busch InBev estão cotadas em mercado,
à data de hoje
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
No full textThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
