    Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

    Procjena rizika poslova se provodi uz aktivno sudjelovanje radnika koji obavljaju poslove i uvažavanje njihovih stavova. Poslodavac je obvezan na temelju procjene rizika primjenjivati pravila, mjere, postupke i aktivnosti za sprječavanje i smanjivanje rizika te osiguravati višu razinu zaštite na radu. U ovom radu su prikazani svi mogući rizici u vidu opasnosti, štetnosti i napora na radu i u vezi s radom za poslove strojar-zavarivač, a koji su definirani zakonom i podzakonskim aktima. Pri izradi procjene rizika uvažavali su se svi provedbeni propisi iz zaštite na radu (kao što su propisi za osobnu zaštitnu opremu, za ručno prenošenje tereta, za radnu opremu, za fizikalna, kemijska i biološka štetna djelovanja) te smjernice iz zaštite na radu.Job risk assessment is carried out with the active participation of workers performing tasks and the appreciation of their views. Based on the risk assessment, the employer is obliged to apply rules, measures, procedures and activities to prevent and reduce risks and to ensure a higher level of protection at work. This paper presents all possible risks in the form of hazards, harms and efforts at work and in connection with the work for machinist-welding jobs, which are defined by law and bylaws. All occupational safety and safety implementing regulations (such as regulations for personal protective equipment, manual cargo transfer, for working equipment, for physical, chemical and biological adverse effects) and guidelines from occupational safety were taken into account when developing the risk assessment

    Tema ovog završnog rada je “Toplinski mostovi kod rekonstrukcije zgrada”. Kako bi se prilikom rekonstrukcije mogla postići energetski učinkovita zgrada potrebno je poznavati unutarnje i vanjske fizikalne procese koji se odvijaju u zgradi kako bi se mogao odabrati prikladan materijal za rekonstrukciju. “Toplinski most je manje područje u omotaču grijanog dijela građevine kroz koje je toplinski tok povećan radi promjene materijala, debljine ili geometrije građevnog dijela zgrade. Toplinski mostovi i s energetskog i s higijenskog gledišta predstavljaju slabe točke u konstrukciji zgrade.” [1] Toplinski mostovi mogu najčešće nastaju na spojevima konstrukcijskih elemenata, tako da to su to mjesta na balkonskoj ploči, mjesta ugradnje vrata i prozora, navojima, obručima, spojevima vanjskih i unutarnjih zidova, spojevima krova i zida, spojevima rogova sa armirano-betonskim serklažima i drvenih podrožnica. Pozornost treba obratit na dizajn zgrade i pravilnu izradu, zgrada bi trebala biti što kompaktnija i jednostavnija, da nema puno zavoja, velikog broja različitih balkona i slično. Također treba misliti i na izbor materijala, ne samo konstrukcije nego i izolacije, koja igra veliku ulogu u cijeloj priči sa toplinskim mostovima. Također moramo paziti prilikom odabira debljine materijala jer nisu svi materijali prikladni za određena mjesta na konstrukciji, tako da krivo izabrana izolacija na mjestu izoliranja iako koristeći deblji sloj može dovesti do stvaranja toplinskih mostova na građevinskoj konstrukciji.The topic of this final thesis is "Thermal bridges in building reconstruction". In order to achieve an energy-efficient building during the reconstruction, it is necessary to know the internal and external physical processes that take place in the building in order to be able to choose the attached material for the reconstruction. "Thermal bridge is a smaller area in the envelope of the heated part of the building through which the heat flow is increased due to a change in the material, thickness or geometry of the construction part of the building. Thermal bridges represent weak points in the construction of the building from both an energy and hygiene point of view." [1] Thermal bridges can most often occur at the joints of structural elements, such as places on the balcony panel, places where doors and windows are installed, threads, hoops, joints of external and internal walls, joints of roof and wall, joints of rafters with reinforced concrete cerclages and wooden branches. Attention should be paid to the design of the building and proper construction, the building should be as compact and simple as possible, without many bends, a large number of different balconies and the like. You should also think about the choice of materials, not only construction but also insulation, which plays a big role in the whole story with thermal bridges. We also have to be careful when choosing the thickness of the material, because not all materials are suitable for certain places on the structure, so the insulation is chosen incorrectly at the place of insulation, although the use of layer thickness can lead to the formation of thermal bridges on the building structur

    Variations on the Author

    “Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

    Zaštita na radu neizostavan je dio današnjice, kako u svakodnevnom životu i poslu tako i u svim građevinskim projektima, a osobito u projektima rekonstrukcija postojećih građevina. Tema ovog diplomskog rada upravo je planiranje te primjena mjera zaštite na radu na gradilištu cjelovite obnove Kliničkog Bolničkog Centra Merkur koji obuhvaća dvorište, gospodarsku zgradu, podzemnu garažu te zgradu samog KBC a . KBC Merkur krenuo je u obnovu uslijed konstrukcijskih i ne konstrukcijskih oštećenja izazvanih potresima koji su pogodili grad Zagreb u ožujku i prosincu 2020. godine . Cilj ovog diplomskog rada je prikazati projekt cjelovite obnove zgrade KBC Merkur, zatim koje su sve mjere zaštite na radu koje se provode u fazi projektiranja te u fazi građenja, nadalje na koji na čin se kontrolira provođenje mjera zaštite na radu na gradilištu KBC Merkur gdje je napravljen intervju sa koordinatorom II te je na kraju donesen zaključak o neophodnosti zaštite na radu te kako je ona implementirana na gradilište KBC Merkura. Diplomski r ad napisan je uz svu potrebnu dokumentaciju izrađenu od strane glavnog projektanta u suradnji sa koordinatorima zaštite na radu I i II te u suradnji sa izvođačima.Safety at work is an indispensable part of today, both in everyday life and work, as well as in all construction projects, especially in reconstruction projects of existing buildings. The topic of this graduate thesis is precisely the planning and application of occupational safety measures at the construction site of the complete renovation of the Merkur Clinical Hospital Center, which includes the courtyard, the utility building, the underground garage and the KBC building itself. KBC Merkur started to rebuild due to structural and non structural damage caused by the earthquakes that hit the city of Zagreb in March and December 2020. The aim of this master thesis is to show the project of the complete renovation of the KBC Merkur building, t hen what are all the occupational safety measures that are implemented in the design phase and in the construction phase, then how is the implementation of occupational safety measures controlled at the KBC Merkur construction site where it was made interview with Health & Safety coordinator, and at the end, a conclusion was reached about the necessity of occupational safety and how it was implemented at the construction site of KBC Merkur. The graduate thesis was written with all the necessary documentation prepared by the principal designer in cooperation with the Health & Safety coordinators and in cooperation with the contractors

    Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.     Dispelling the Myths Behind First-author Citation Counts

    We conducted a full-scale evaluative citation analysis study of scholars in the XML research field to explore just how different from each other author rankings resulting from different citation counting methods actually are, and to demonstrate the capability of emerging data and tools on the Web in supporting more realistic citation counting methods. Our results contest some common arguments for the continued use of first-author citation counts in the evaluation of scholars, such as high correlations between author rankings by first-author citation counts and other citation counting methods, and high costs of using more realistic citation counting methods that are not well-supported by the ISI databases. It is argued that increasingly available digital full text research papers make it possible for citation analysis studies to go beyond what the ISI databases have directly supported and to employ more sophisticated methods
