Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis

    No full text
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Finally, we show by means of an example that our findings have a high practical relevance.information science;Pearson correlation;cosine;similarity measure;author cocitation analysis

Education is a basic right for everyone, regardless of social class/strata, race, political choice, creed or physical and mental differences as stated in the 1945 Constitution article 31 paragraph (1) states "Every citizen has the right to equal educational opportunities". Law Number 4 of 1997 concerning persons with disabilities Article 10 Paragraph (1) states that "Equality of opportunity for persons with disabilities in all aspects of life and livelihood is implemented through the provision of accessibility". The existence of children with special needs (ABK) at SD Negeri 8 Bula, Bula District, East Seram Regency consists of several categories including: Special Smart Children and Special Talents (CIBI), Slow learners, Children who have specific learning difficulties, and Autism. In the application of learning management at SD Negeri 8 Bula, of course, it must be slightly different from other public schools that do not have students with special needs ABK). In education, management is the activity of integrating educational resources to be centralized in an effort to achieve predetermined educational goals by directing people to carry out certain activities to achieve goals. That is, moving those people to organize the means, materials, tools, and costs and by certain methods carry out their respective activities. In practice the manager or principal is in charge of directing the teachers, staff, and students. Not only leading or encouraging, but also thinking about strategies or policies to regulate school physical, facilities, and infrastructure. This type of research is qualitative descriptive research Through. From the results of the research conducted, it was found   that the Planning for  Learning Management of Children with Special Needs (ABK) carried out by the Principal and Teachers / Educators at SD Negeri 8 Bula in identifying students must be carried out earlier when students register so that in the preparation of RPP and Syllabus a modified curriculum can be made that can accommodate learning models for students with special needs,  Implementation  (Actuating) of Learning Management of Children with Special Needs (ABK) at SD Negeri 8 Bula, Principals and Teachers  have implemented learning strategies in accordance with references to the applicable curriculum, namely the 2013 Curriculum, and Evaluation of Learning Management of Children with Special Needs (ABK) at SD Negeri 8 Bula, Principals and Teachers evaluate the implementation of learning, evaluations are carried out on student learning outcomes common

"Closing the R&D Gap, Evaluating the Sources of R&D Spending"

    No full text
Both spending and tax policies have been implemented in the United States with the goal of stimulating private sector research and development (R&D). Karier questions whether current R&D policy, especially the research and experimentation tax credit, can contribute to closing the gap between nondefense expenditures on R&D in the United States and such expenditures in other countries, such as Japan and Germany. He also explores possible changes to our current R&D policy to make it more effective.

(2) Describe the competency of teachers in State Elementary Schools in Bula District. (3) Describe the performance of teachers in State Elementary Schools in Bula District. (4) Describe whether or not there is a significant influence between principal supervision on teacher performance in State Elementary Schools in Bula District. (5) Describe whether there is a significant influence between teacher competency on teacher performance in State Elementary Schools in Bula District. (6) Describe whether or not there is a significant influence between principal supervision and teacher competency together on teacher performance in State Elementary Schools in Bula District. This type of research is quantitative research. The samples obtained came from state elementary schools in Bula District, East Seram Regency. The sample used was 106 respondents. The data obtained in this research was through filling out a questionnaire. The research method used by researchers in this research is descriptive quantitative with quantitative regression analysis methods. The results of descriptive analysis of principal supervision variables in Bula District Elementary Schools, East Seram Regency are classified as moderate, Teacher Competency variables in Bula District East Seram District Elementary Schools are classified as high, and teacher performance variables in Bula District Elementary Schools are classified as high, and teacher performance variables in Bula District Public Elementary Schools Eastern Seram Regency is relatively high. The results of the descriptive analysis based on the results of testing the first hypothesis show that the principal's supervision has a significant influence on teacher performance. The second hypothesis also shows that teacher competence has a significant influence on teacher performance. The third hypothesis shows that principal supervision and teacher competence together have a significant influence on teacher performance in State Elementary Schools in Bula District, East Seram Regency

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis

    No full text
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed

Background:This study aims to determine the botanical composition of forages and legumes and the capacity of livestock in grazing fields in Bula sub-district, East Seram Regency. Research methods:This research was conducted in May 2009 with research locations in 2 villages, Jembatan Basa and Bula villages and using a survey method conducted in the grasslands. Determination of sample villages and grazing locations based on purposive sampling based on village area and number of ruminants. This method uses dry weigh rank to determine the botanical composition of forage by using cluster sampling, while in measuring the capacity of the capacity is measured based on the formula voisin (Y-1) S = r. Results :The study showed the botanical composition as follows: Pangola grass (Digitaria decumbens) 22.36 percent, donated pasture. Leguminosa found in Bula Sub-district, East Seram Regency, Arachis Nuts (Arachis glabarata) 5.37 percent, Asu beans (Kalopogonium mucunoides) 4.11 percent. The results of the study showed that the carrying capacity (KT) for ruminants in Bula District was 1.39 ha/UT/year or 0.58 UT/ha/year. Conclusion: The botanical composition of legumes in pastures in Bula sub-district does not meet the 9.84 percent standard, besides that there are tree legumes such as gamal (Gliisida sepium), and Chinese petai (Lamtorogun)
