To put it another way, the mortgage sector in Nigeria had a housing deficit as its nature and character before the presidency of President Buhari, and the mortgage sector in Nigeria was significantly impacted by the presidency of President Buhari. A Discourse Analysis of Former President Olusegun Obasanjo's Letters to President Muhammadu Buhari
No full textLinguistic analyses of open letters have received much scholarly attention. However, literature on a discourse analysis of former President Olusegun Obasanjo's open letters to Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari is scanty, leaving a lacuna in scholarship in respect of the way linguistic choices are deployed to expose social, political, religious and economic problems within the Nigerian society, especially under the Muhammadu Buhari presidency. The present study, therefore, seeks to carry out a discourse analysis of two open letters written by Obasanjo to Buhari with a view to identifying the way linguistic categories are deployed to expose the perceived social problems associated with the Buhari government. As theoretical model, the study deploys Ulrich Oevermann's Objective Hermeneutics Theory of discourse analysis, which allows the analyst to break their data down into individual linguistic units in a bid to elicit meaning. The data, comprising two of Obasanjo's letters to Buhari, is sourced from Premium Times through purposive sampling method and subjected to descriptive linguistic analysis. The study reveals that Obasanjo deployed linguistic elements such as nouns, pronouns, modals, verbs, adjectives, adverbs, lexical collocations and wise sayings to perform three main functions: condemnation of terrorist activities, castigation of the Buhari administration and selfidentification as national adviser/experienced counsellor. The study also suggests that Obasanjo's letters to Buhari serve a sensitisation/instructional purpose to a perceived insensitive government and express Obasanjo's displeasure about Buhari's administration.

After Salisu resigned, he was prosecuted and sentenced to two years in prison with the option of a fine. The Nigerian State and Social Protection Under the Buhari Presidency
Full text linkProtecting the vulnerable constituencies against risks, hazards and poverty is a common practice across countries of the world, whether developed or developing. While social protection programming in Nigeria predates political independence, the social protection efforts of the Buhari administration remain the most comprehensive in the history of Africa’s largest economy. The expansive scope/coverage of the administration’s social protection programming is better appreciated when viewed within the context of rising social inequality and poverty in the country as amply evidenced by a recent report of the National Bureau of Statistics. This paper examines the social protection practice of the Buhari administration which was instituted in 2016. Using secondary data and official records, the paper finds that while the social protection programming of the regime is elaborate and ambitious, it has not substantially achieved its intended consequences. The paper identifies challenges impeding the social protection efforts and proposes some mitigating measures.
The Buhari State and the Origins of Banditry in Nigeria
Full text linkAlthough the origin of banditry in Nigeria is far beyond the Buhari State, he was voted into power largely on the premonition that he had the capacity to tame the scourge of terrorism, banditry and insurgency that became incipient immediately after the military handover of the reins of power to civilians in 1990. But from 1990 up to 2015, the nation began a fall down a slippery slope and by 2022 the nation had gone down the valley of conflicts of all hews. This paper which adopts doctrinal method, attempts a critical survey of the social problem of insecurity in Nigeria particularly in the nature of terrorism, banditry and insurgency, relating the survey to the role of the Buhari State which has been widely complicit in the conflict even though the administration had persistently claimed that its patriotism is deep and un-wavered. The paper further interrogates the administration in the face of the violent activities of Islamic militant groups in the north and separatist agitations in the east and west of Nigeria and against the background of their propulsion of the herder-farmer conflicts all over the country. The study finds that the Buhari State is indictable as it is shown to be partisan; and had largely reneged on the ideological vortex upon which it was propelled to power leaving the ship of state adrift perilously towards the 2023 vacation date of the administration.

No full textBiz bu çalışmamızda, Buhârî'nin gerek metin, gerekse senet olarak hadisleri değerlendirme metodunu tesbit etmeye çalıştık. Ancak konunun derinliği düşünüldüğünde, kapsam olarak sınırlarının çizilme gereği doğdu. Biz de bu amaçla Buhârî'de çokça zikredilen, seçilmiş bir tek hadis üzerinden konuyu değerlendirmeye karar verdik. Yaptığımız araştırma sonucunda diğerlerine nazaran gerek içerik açısından ilginç, gerek rivâyet çokluğu açısından zengin bir görünüm arzeden Uranîler hadisini incelemeye çalıştık . Çalışmamız bir giriş ve iki bölümden oluşmaktadır: Girişte metod ve kaynaklar hakkında bilgi verdik. Birinci Bölümde Uranîler hadisinin öncelikle Buhârî'de ve diğer hadis kaynaklarında işleniş şeklini verdikten sonra hadisin ricâlini, sened özelliklerini ve metnini değerlendirdik. İkinci Bölümde ise Buhârî'nin eserine aldığı bu hadisi, öncelikle, metin tenkidi prensipleri açısından daha sonra ise; Buhârî'nin metodu zâviyesinden değerlendirmeye gayret ederek çalışmamızı sona erdirdik.THE HADITH OF URANIS IN TERMS OF BUHARI'S METHOD OF HADITH EVALUATION This study include two chapters: In the first chapter, after mentioning in pages ( together with page numbers ) where the aforesaid hadith is given at Buhari's collection first and than at the other Books of a Eight Books ( Kütübü Semaniye ), the narrators of this hadith are evaluated in terms of rejection-alteration (cerh-tadil ) İn the chapter the texts of the hadith are studied, exanined and after defining the diffirences among them, a cammon text has been tred to construct. Full text linkFunctions, design, space, price and material used to build up a furniture were an important features need to be considered by customers. High price and lack of space are some limitations that faced by students at hostel or other customers that live in a small house in buying furniture. So, this study is conducted to overcome those problem by designing an adjustable laptop table with "do it yourself' (DIY) concept for ease of handling, multipurpose function and can be sell at an economical price. In this study, a laptop table was combined with a book shelves by applying modern and contemporary design, that suit with modern lifestyle. Laminated particleboard and particleboard were used as main material, as they have excellent properties such as cheap, good machining properties and light. A set of questionnaires were distributed to seventy correspondents (twenty lecturers and fifty students). Results show that sex of correspondent may influence the rating on types of material used and the application of DIY concept only. Meanwhile, for the effects of correspondent's profession and phase of age, there are no significant differences on the rating of the product. Overall, this adjustable laptop table is suitable to be commercialized in market
