The development of services of the space and terrestrial radio communications requires more powerful and low cost systems. In particular, the effort is related to the minimization of the losses and the size of the transceiver. In this intention, we develop the concept of the multifunction antenna-filter. Then, there is a new component, which can be seen, according to the cases, like a filter antenna or a radiant filter. The integration passes by the possibility of fulfilling a filtering function by a direct synthesis, i.e. a synthesis according to the particular characteristics of the resonators (coefficient of quality, frequency of resonance, coefficient of coupling). On the basis of this tool and of the electromagnetic constraint inherent with the filters and the antennas, we developed, on some examples, the concept of antenna filter integration.NANTES-BU Sciences (441092104) / SudocSudocFranceF
Plastronic development of low profile radiating solutions for industrial sensors
The emergence of IoT networks in recent years has been accompanied by an increase in the number of small communicating sensors. If the reduction of the electronic board size is enabled by an ever greater integration of circuit functions, the same cannot be said for antenna functions. In the framework of this thesis, we explore the possibilities offered by plastronics for the plastronics for the realization of compact 3D antennas for IoT sensors. Plastronics consists in transferring an electronic electronic development on a plastic part. When the latter is produced by injection (i.e. moulded), it is referred to as Moulded Interconnected Device (DIM). Among the existing technologies for producing DIMs, Direct Laser Structuring allows the transfer of metal tracks onto different types of thermoplastic materials. This work is based on the design of compact antennas on cylindrical substrates for on a cylindrical substrate for communications at 868 MHz, 2.45 GHz and Ultra Wide Band. The contribution of plastronics to contactless antenna feed solutions is also evaluated. The results obtained confirm the potential of LDS technology for the realisation of this type of antenna
Conception of a compact antenna for base station used in cellular network
Cellular networks undergo majors changes in the world. Several standards have been deployed since 1980. The enthusiasm of the general public quickly saturated the first generations and the number of services increases for every standard. Development of a new one is the occasion to find new ways to simplify the radio architecture in order to relieve consumers high quality of service. Today, this radio architecture has been simplified but base station antennas have become more and more critical for their size and create problems in towns specially. Moreover, constraints from the government and consumers associations contest deployment of new base station. Works of the thesis are focused on increasing base station antenna gain based on two different technologies. Then, conception of compact radiating elements was developed and presented through a small array. Good results open new perspectives to realize a compact multiband base station antenna thanks to new compact radiating element sized in others frequency bands
New Flexible Medical Compact Antenna: Design and Analysis
Some results on embedded antennas for medical wireless communication systems are presented. Medical telemetry can advantageously assist medical diagnostics. For example, you can better locate a diseased area by monitoring temperature inside the human body. In order to establish efficient wireless links in such an environment, a special attention should be paid to the antenna design. It is required to be of a low profile, very small regardless of the working frequency—434 MHz in the ISM band, safe, and cost effective. Design of the as-considered antenna is proposed based on a simple model. The approach has been demonstrated for a compact flexible antenna with a factor of 10 with respect to the half-wave antenna, rolling up inside an ingestible pill. Measured and calculated impedance behaviour and radiation characteristics of the modified patch are determined. Excellent agreement was found between experiment and theory
International audienceThe Bachelor of Technology (BUT) is a professional three-year program. To best develop students' skills, the Networks and Telecommunications (RT) BUT at La Roche-sur-Yon focuses on a work-study approach, combining academic education with professional training. While the benefits of this model are clear, its dual nature presents a significant challenge in coordinating both environments. Navigating between university and business can indeed create tensions due to often differing expectations and methods. In this context, how can we create an ecosystemwhere academics and professionals work towards a common goal of support? The IUT in La Roche-sur-Yon aims to address this challenge by developing initiatives to enhance students' reflexivity, adaptability, and projection capabilities. Solutions are also being considered to better align the assignments of work-study students with academic objectives. The initiatives aim for one goal: to evolve work-study programs into a close collaboration where the university and the professional world jointly commit to the academic success and effective professionalization of students.

Radio frequency ambient level energy harvesting
International audienceThis paper presents a study of Schottky diode rectenna (rectifying antenna) for RF energyharvesting systems. These rectennas are suitable for wireless sensors with the rechargeablebattery technology especially at low power densities. A rectifying circuit is proposed withsingle high responsivity Schottky diode for RF-DC conversion. A matching circuit is optimisedto improve not only the power transfer between the antenna and the diode but also to rejectharmonic signals. The radiating part is a monopole antenna, with a large bandwidth in thefrequency domain and an omni-directional radiation pattern in the azimuthal plane. We showthat antenna frequency response takes part in the improvement of the efficiency. The rectifieris integrated with the antenna on a printed circuit board, leading to 30% of size reduction withthe same performance. The aim is to reach the highest efficiency with a single tone signal anda compact rectenna. This rectenna was simulated using both Agilent ADS and Ansoft HFSSsoftware. An output DC voltage of 210 mV was measured inside an anechoic chamber with areceived a single tone signal of 2 μW/cm2power density. The highest efficiency of 34 % wasobtained at a power density of 1.3 μW/cm2
