A novel may reflect the political interests and actions of the author. The author can make a story that is purposed to alter common consciousness. This article uses historicism as an interpretation theory. Historicism is used to avoid careless interpretation. With historicism, the story written in the novel is matched with historical events written in some history books. Forrest Carter writes a lot about US Civil War. He, in purpose, does not write about slavery that is commonly read as the cause of the US Civil War. He writes a lot about the murder of women and children by the northern US army soldiers in southern districts. He also writes a lot about the cooperation of his white character with a Cherokee. Abstract
This CAEPR Topical Issue contains the collected works of academics engaged in the examination of The Forrest review: creating parity which was commissioned by the Prime Minister Tony Abbott to examine Indigenous training and employment in Australia. Each work represents the author\u27s considered specialist disciplinary perspective informed by on-the-ground experience. Consequently, this paper provides an overview of the issues and challenges identified by academics as needing to be addressed when thinking about the recommendations of the Forrest Review and the impact they could have on people\u27s lives if implemented.

This study entitled Self-concept Portrayed in The Main Character of Winston Groom’s Forrest Gump novel: Humanistic Psychological Approach. The aims of this study was to analyse and describe the self-concept characteristics of main character in the novel of Forrest Gump by Winston Groom as the author addressed the reasons of raising the issue of self-concept. The type of this study was literary study. The type of data to be conducted this study consisted of two data sources. The primary data was the text from Winston Groom’s Forrest Gump novel. The secondary data to be used was collected from Psychology books, E-books, articles, E-thesis and reviews from internet. The conclusion of this study: firstly, the portrayal of self-concept characteristics in Forrest Gump as the main character of the novel. Secondly, Forrest Gump as the main character overcoming his problem in life applied the self-concept. Thirdly, the reasons why Winston Groom as the author addressed the issue of self-concept in life to be applied that people to be intuitive, open to new experiences, believe in oneself choices and stay optimistic in life
