Atributos físicos e químicos do solo em três topossequências no cariri ocidental da Paraiba
Get PDFThe soil originates from the union of the so-called formation factors where, an origin material will
undergo active action of organisms and climate for a certain period of time in a topographical position
(relief). These factors vary throughout the world and these variations over millions of years are primarily
responsible for generating this diversity within ecosystems. Thus, the objective of this work was to study
the physical and chemical attributes of the soil in three toposequences in western Paraíba. For this, three
materials of different origins were selected (schist, gneiss, granite) and in each one a toposequence was
made with three points (top, half slope and foothill), with the presence of lithosequence when compared
in the same landscape conditions, however with materials from different origins, in each of the nine total
points, 10 undisturbed samples and in a volumetric ring were collected. The depth was determined by
the diagnostic horizon of each soil (approximately 10 cm), and these samples were analyzed and the
physical and chemical attributes of the soil were determined. After obtaining the data, these were
submitted to univariate analysis, simple regression analysis and multivariate analysis. The stability and
consistency of these soils is complex and fragile, where anthropic actions need great attention and can
cause great damage to this biome. The parent material was determinant in some chemical components
of these soils, which are good from an agronomic point of view, but sensitive from an environmental
point of view. Altitude is a fundamental factor in defining soil characteristics in western Cariri, reflecting
on the soil-plant-atmosphere relationship. In relief positions, physically the top presents a more stable
environment, while chemically the base has a greater interaction of attributes, in both cases related to
water dynamics, both in cementation and in leaching, respectively. Shale soils, compared to gneiss and
granite, are well-developed soils in the sertão of Paraíba, providing favorable physical and chemical
conditions for agriculture, paying attention to salt levels in irrigation water.O solo tem origem a partir da união dos chamados fatores de formação onde, um material de origem irá
sofre ação ativa dos organismos e clima por um determinado período de tempo em uma posição
topográfica (relevo). Esses fatores variam por todo o mundo e essas variações ao longo de milhões de
anos é o principal responsável por gerar essa diversidade dentro dos ecossistemas. Dessa forma, o
objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar os atributos físicos e químicos do solo em três topossequências no
cariri ocidental da Paraíba. Para isso foram selecionados três materiais de origens diferentes (xisto,
gnaisse, granito) e em cada um foi feito uma topossequência com três pontos(topo, meia encosta e sopé),
com presença também da litossequência quando comparadas em mesmas condições de paisagem, porém
com materiais de origens diferentes, em cada um dos nove pontos totais foram coletadas 10 amostras
indeformadas e em anel volumétrico. A profundidade deu-se pelo horizonte diagnóstico de cada solo
(aproximadamente 10 cm), sendo dessas amostras analisadas e determinados os atributos físicos e
químicos do solo. Após a obtenção dos dados esses foram submetidos a análise univaridada, análise de
regressão simples e análise multivariada. A estabilidade e consistência desses solos é algo complexo e
frágil, onde as ações antrópicas necessitam de grande atenção podendo causar grandes danos a esse
bioma. O material de origem foi determinante em alguns componentes químicos desses solos, que são
bons do ponto de vista agronômico, porém sensíveis do ponto de vista ambiental. A altitude é fator
fundamental na definição de características de solos do cariri ocidental, refletindo na relação solo-planta atmosfera. Em posições de relevo, fisicamente o topo apresenta um ambiente mais estável, já
quimicamente o sopé possuem maior interação de atributos, em ambos os casos relacionados a dinâmica
água, tanto na cimentação, quanto na lixiviação, respectivamente. Os solos de xistos, em comparação
com gnaisse e granito, são solos bem desenvolvidos no sertão paraibano, propiciando condições físicas
e químicas favoráveis para agricultura, se atentando aos níveis de sal na água de irrigação
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Get PDFThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Get PDF“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Get PDFWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature. Note that the objective for the hut study was to evaluate the IRS treatment applications for residual efficacy against Anopheles mosquitoes, including the local An. coluzzii mosquito population. Cows were only used to attract mosquitoes into the huts and no tests were carried out directly on the cows. The author checklist is intended for use with studies where experiments are carried out on animals, which is why we have had such difficulty in completing this for the hut study, as many of the questions do not relate to how the cows were used
