No full textPaesaggi materiali è un nuovo volume della Collana didattica di MD.
Il racconto di un’esperienza di ricerca didattica frutto del lavoro congiunto dei laboratori di Design del prodotto dei Corsi di studio dell’Università di Ferrara e dell’Università della Repubblica di San Marino. Con l’intento di indagare il ruolo della disciplina del design nei processi di riattivazione, rigenerazione e valorizzazione dei territori e delle comunità locali, il lavoro di studenti e docenti si è focalizzato sulla produzione artigianale tradizionale, che in Italia, come in altri paesi, è parte integrante del patrimonio culturale materiale e immateriale. Con l’obiettivo di innovare e valorizzare tecniche e processi produttivi nell’utilizzo di fibre naturali locali, come le erbe palustri, il vimini, la canapa o la paglia, i due laboratori si sono concentrati in due diverse aree storicamente riconoscibili per la loro produzione artigianale strettamente collegata a particolari fibre naturali presenti nella zona: Le zone umide a nord della città di Ravenna denominate Bassa Romagna; la zona di Signa detta anche città della paglia a ovest di Firenze.

Mapping design-driven processes for the regeneration of small fortified towns in inland areas
Full text linkThe contribution aims to focus on and deal with a methodology of mapping, typifying and cataloguing selected design interventions based on the impacts that the various design disciplines are or have been able to induce at different scales of action in the contexts of small fortified towns, constituting the primary settlement cores of the so-called inland areas. The main keys of research, filing and reading chosen for mapping allow the infographic schematisation of study in a Cartesian diagram based on two primary axes. The taxonomy, developed and adopted by the Design Research Unit of the University of San Marino, identifies, distributes and classifies numerous case studies according to two essential relational variables between human beings, communities and places: the time of permanence and the level of interaction and involvement with the areas.

Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
Full text linkThe present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
La farmacia di comunità. Uno spazio in cerca di identità tra obiettivi di vendita e vocazione all’assistenza sanitaria
No full textLe farmacie italiane come quelle europee hanno vissuto negli ultimi decenni un processo di trasformazione e ridefinizione del proprio ruolo dovuto principalmente alla riprogettazione dei servizi sanitari nazionali da parte delle istituzioni. La capillarità sui territori le identifica a tutti gli effetti come un partner strategico del Servizio Sanitario Nazionale (SSN) per l’erogazione di un nuovo modello di assistenza basata sul concetto di prossimità. Acquisendo nuovi ruoli, il luogo farmacia, i suoi spazi, gli arredi, il layout interno, si trovano dunque a dover rispondere a più scopi contemporaneamente, a volte contrastanti. La vendita di prodotti, la dispensazione di farmaci, la consulenza, l’erogazione di servizi sanitari richiedono spazi e dinamiche differenti e possono creare fraintendimenti nelle aspettative e nelle relazioni tra il farmacista/negoziante e il paziente/cliente. Il contributo si propone di comprendere le logiche che hanno strutturato storicamente lo spazio farmacia nel tempo, analizzare e sistematizzare, attraverso una selezione di progetti internazionali, alcune possibili pratiche nella progettazione degli interni che favoriscano una migliore convivenza tra le varie anime della farmacia di comunità.Italian as well as european pharmacies have undergone a process of transformation and redefinition of their role in recent decades, mainly due to the redesign of national health services by the institutions. The capillarity throughout the territories identifies them to all intents and purposes as a strategic partner of the national health service for the provision of a new model of care based on the concept of proximity. By acquiring new roles, the pharmacy site, its spaces, furnishings, and interior layout, thus find themselves having to respond to several, sometimes conflicting, purposes at once. Saling of products, dispensing of medicines, consultancy, and the supply of health services require different spaces and dynamics and can create misunderstandings in the expectations and relations between the pharmacist/retailer and the patient/customer. The contribution aims to understand the logics that have historically structured the pharmacy space over time, to analyse and systematise, through a selection of international projects, some possible practices in interior design that favour a better coexistence between the various souls of the contemporary pharmacy
Variations on the Author
Full text link“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship
Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
Full text linkWe provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
