    Miguel de Cervantes and Autran Dourado: critical dialogue between poetics

    El presente estudio es fruto de una reflexión y análisis acerca de la producción del escritor brasileño Autran Dourado teniendo en cuenta el diálogo que se establece con la obra del autor español Miguel de Cervantes, sumándose la preocupación por encontrar las correspondencias no solo temáticas sino también poéticas de estos dos autores. Se inicia con un breve recorrido histórico y literario, presente en la formación de ambos autores, con la perspectiva de delinear un rasgo común entre ellos, es decir, el de escritores críticos. A su vez, esta aproximación desencadena el estudio de lo que habría sido la biblioteca cervantina de Autran Dourado. Por otro lado, se llevó a cabo el levantamiento de la fortuna crítica del escritor brasileño tomando como foco, sobre todo, los trabajos académicos sobre su obra y teniendo en cuenta cuarenta años de incesante labor de producción. A partir de estos datos, se vuelve fundamental el análisis del diálogo intertextual establecido entre las obras de los dos autores, con la inquietud de destacar coincidencias temáticas y procedimientos similares en la construcción de personajes, como en el caso de la trilogía perteneciente a la saga familiar de los Honório Cota de Autran Dourado y Don Quijote de la Mancha de Miguel de Cervantes y, por otro lado, las inquietudes poéticas de ambos autores a partir de un estudio sobre sus respectivos procesos de reescritura.This study is the result of a reflection and analysis about the production of the Brazilian writer Autran Dourado highlighting the dialogue that it establishes with the work of the Spanish author Miguel de Cervantes, searching not only for thematic but also for poetic correspondences between both writers. It starts with a brief historic and literary trajectory present in their works aiming at delineating a common characteristic shown by them, that of critic writers. This comparison leads to the study of Autran Dourado´s Cervantine library. On the other hand, a research on the criticism on Autran Dourado´s complete work was carried out, focusing mainly on the academic studies about his work taking into consideration his 40 year literary production. Regarding such data, the analysis of an intertextual dialogue established between the works by Dourado and Cervantes becomes fundamental, distinguishing the thematic coincidences and similar proceedings in the construction of their characters, as in the trilogy centered in the saga of Honório Cota´s family by Autran Dourado and Don Quijote de La Mancha by Miguel de Cervantes, as well as the poetic anxiety of both authors starting from a study about their re-writing processes

    GODOFREDO RANGEL E AUTRAN DOURADO: O ARTISTA E O APRENDIZ

    The name Godofredo Rangel has been fixed itself in the history of Brazilian literature mainly as Monteiro Lobato's eternal friend and correspondent. Nevertheless, his memory is revered by writers of the same strain as Carlos Drummond de Andrade and Autran Dourado. The latter, above all, in more than one occasion, declared having had in Rangel a master in writing, whose guidance had been fundamental to the development of his literary vocation. In the novel Um artista aprendiz (n.t.: An apprentice artist), from 1989, Dourado narrates the trajectory of a novice writer, whose  encounter with the literary personality of Godofredo Rangel, fictionalized by the author in the character of Sílvio sousa, is also decisive. This study consists of the comparison between the testimony of Autran Dourado about Godofredo Rangel and the fictional matter of the novel, searching in them the elements to understand what Dourado and others considered as being a work of mastery in the literary art.O nome de Godofredo Rangel tem se fixado na história da literatura brasileira principalmente como o eterno amigo e correspondente de Monteiro Lobato. Contudo, sua memória é reverenciada por escritores da cepa de Carlos Drummond de Andrade e Autran Dourado. Este, principalmente, em mais de uma ocasião declarou ter tido em Rangel um mestre da escrita, cujas orientações teriam sido fundamentais para o desenvolvimento de sua vocação literária. The analysis offered in this article focuses upon intertextuality in the literary output of the writers of Minas Gerais. More specifically, the author studies the manner in which each of the writers incorporates in their texts the tropes of manifestation—and expiation—of blame against the backdrop of a river.     Mikhail Bakhtin e Autran Dourado : reflexões dialógicas sobre a poética de romance

    Esta tese de doutoramento tem com premissa estabelecer um estudo comparativo entre as teorias e os ensaios dos autores Mikhail Bakhtin e Autran Dourado, acerca das suas reflexões sobre Linguagem e Literatura, tendo como ponto específico de análise dessas áreas a poética do gênero romance. Bakhtin, na antiga União Soviética, e Autran Dourado, no Brasil, apesar de distantes, produziram uma fortuna crítica sobre as relações entre Literatura e Cultura, Literatura e Práticas Sociais e Literatura e outros discursos, suscitando olhares contíguos sobre o dialogismo, a polifonia, a heterodiscursividade e a carnavalização e outros conceitos de Mikhail Bakhtin, que passaram a ser deveras caros a Autran Dourado. O teórico russo e o autor brasileiro também se unem fortemente na crítica que fizeram tanto à chamada estética material ou estilística tradicional, da corrente estruturalista e formalista na Literatura, quanto ao sociologismo e conteudismo, quando estes tendem à unilateralidade e à univocidade na leitura e interpretação que fazem do texto literário. Desta maneira, os capítulos da tese tratarão das ideias sobre Arte, Literatura, Crítica, Cultura e Sociedade afins aos dois autores, bem como, e com maior peso, seus pensamentos sobre a poética e arquitetônica do gênero romance, revelando o que ambos falam em comum sobre autoria, tempo, espaço e personagem; nesta caminhada, também serão utilizados romances de Autran Dourado para confirmar como a carpintaria artística do autor se compraz com as ideias de Mikhail Bakhtin, revelando as reflexões dialógicas existentes entre eles.This doctoral thesis has as premise to establish a comparative study between the theories and the essays of the authors Mikhail Bakhtin and Autran Dourado, about their reflections on Language and Literature, having as a specific point of analysis of these areas the poetics of the novel. Bakhtin, in the former Soviet Union, and Autran Dourado, in Brazil, although distant, produced a critical fortune on the relations between Literature and Culture, Literature and Social Practices and Literature and other discourses, raising similar views on dialogism, polyphony, the heterodiscursivity and carnavalization and other concepts of Mikhail Bakhtin, which became very expensive to Autran Dourado. The Russian theorist and the Brazilian author are also strongly united in their criticism of both the so-called traditional material and stylistic aesthetics, from the structuralist and formalist current in literature, as well as sociologism and contentism, when these tend towards unilaterality and univocity in their reading and interpretation of the literary text. In this way, the thesis chapters will deal with the ideas about Art, Literature, Criticism, Culture and Society related to the two authors, as well as, and with greater weight, their thoughts on the poetic and architectonics of the novel, revealing what they both speak in common about authorship, time and space, and character; in this walk, also novels by Autran Dourado will be used to confirm how the author's artistic carpentry is pleased with the ideas of Mikhail Bakhtin, revealing the dialogical reflections between them

    Immunological characterization of HIV-2 and HIV-1 human immunodeficiency virus reservoirs in immunocompetent cells and study of innate and intrinsic immunity parameters

    Les VIH-2 et VIH-1 diffèrent par leur pathogénicité. Pour mieux comprendre les mécanismes de faible pathogénicité et de réplication du VIH-2, nous avons étudié les caractéristiques immuno-virologiques des réservoirs du VIH-2 chez des patients VIH-2+ (ANRS-CO-05). Quatorze sujets VIH-2+ ont été comparés à des donneurs sains. Les cellules sanguines ont été triées en sept sous-populations (monocytes, T CD4 activés et au repos (TN, TCM, TTM, TEM)). L’ADN du VIH-2 a été quantifié par PCR et détecté chez 4 sujets : dans les TTM et les TCM mais pas dans les monocytes. L’analyse phénotypique des cellules NK a été réalisée par cytométrie en flux (24 sujets, ANRS-CO-05). Les cellules NK des VIH-2+ avaient : une expression de NKp30 diminuée, une augmentation de la production d'IFN-g et une altération de la fonction cytolytique en présence de B7-H6, comparés aux VIH-1+. L’expression des corécepteurs et des facteurs de transcription a été analysée, montrant des niveaux plus élevés chez les VIH-1 LTNP comparée aux VIH-2+, et aux donneurs sains pour la plupart des paramètres. Nous avons observé que l’expression de PD1 était plus importante sur les T CD4 des VIH-1 LTNP comparés aux donneurs sains. Nous avons montré que les faibles réservoirs du VIH-2 se distinguent des réservoirs du VIH-1 par l'absence d'infection monocytaire et par une infection limitée des TCM.HIV-2 and HIV-1 differ in pathogenicity. To better understand the mechanisms of HIV- 2 low pathogenicity and replication potential, we studied immune and virologic characteristics of HIV-2 reservoirs of infected patients (cohort ANRS CO-05). Fourteen HIV-2+ subjects from the ANRS CO-05 cohort were compared to healthy donors. Seven peripheral blood sub-populations were sorted by flow cytometry : Monocytes, activated and resting CD4 T cells (TN, TCM, TTM, TEM). Viral DNA was quantified in sorted cells by PCR. HIV-2 DNA was detected in TTM and TCM sub-populations of 4 patients but not in monocytes. The phenotype of peripheral NK cells was analyzed by flow cytometry (24 HIV-2 ANRS CO-05 cohort). HIV-2+ patients had lower proportions of NKp30+ NK cells, increased production of IFN-g and altered cytolytic function in the presence B7-H6 surface ligand, when compared to HIV-1+. The analysis of HIV-1 and HIV-2 co-receptors and transcription factors expression showed higher values in HIV-1LTNP (ANRS CO15) cohort, compared to HIV-2+ and healthy donors. We also found that the PD1 expression by CD4 T cells was higher in HIV-1LTNP subjects compared to healthy donors, though not correlated to the HIV-1 plasma load. Her we show that HIV-2 reservoirs are distinct from the HIV-1 reservoirs by the absence of monocytic infection and a limited TCM infection

    Ruína e reificação em Ópera dos mortos de Autran Dourado

    Dissertação (mestrado)—Universidade de Brasília, Instituto de Letras, Departamento de Teoria Literária e Literaturas, 2009.Este trabalho tem por objetivo o estudo de Ópera dos mortos de Autran Dourado na perspectiva da formação da literatura brasileira. O sistema literário, ideia fundamental do pensamento de Antonio Candido, tem como premissa autores conscientes de seu papel no processo de formação literária e comporta a ideia de acumulação entre os autores (formação de uma tradição literária) e uma história ligada à vida social. A análise deste romance revela uma problemática que diz respeito ao processo formativo da literatura brasileira e dos impasses entre ruptura e continuidade do sistema literário. Ao parodiar um modelo antigo, a tragédia grega, o autor condensa na forma estrutural a forma social e dá a ver a complexidade do processo modernizador. Desta maneira, a obra autraniana recoloca a questão do local e universal na literatura brasileira e dialoga com a tradição que esteve empenhada em construir uma literatura que pudesse interpretar o país numa perspectiva histórica que ultrapassa o fato de escrever sobre o Brasil. Em Ópera dos mortos o trabalho artístico que está consolidado em vários níveis da narrativa, principalmente nos símbolos e metáforas eleitos pelo autor para mediar os processos sociais, possibilita a internalização da vida social na forma estética e aponta para vários níveis de significação, entre eles, a reificação humana e a própria reificação da literatura.The purpose of this work is to study “Ópera dos mortos” (The Opera of the dead) by Autran Dourado under the perspective of the formation of the Brazilian literature. The literary system, which constitutes a core idea in Antonio Candido‟s thinking, holds the premise of authors that are conscious of their role in the process of literary formation, and includes the idea of accumulation over authors (formation of a literary. The analysis of this romance reveals an issue that concerns both the formative process of the Brazilian literature and the predicament between the rupture and the continuity of the modernizing process. As such, the autranian work restates the local and universal issue in the Brazilian literature and speaks to the tradition that had been committed to building a literature capable of interpreting the country under a historical perspective that oversteps the fact of writing about Brazil. In Opera of the dead, the artistic work consolidated within several levels of the narrative, mainly in symbols and metaphors chosen by the author to mediate social processes, enables the internalization of the social work under the aesthetic form and points to several levels of significance, amongst them are the human reification and the very reification of the literature

    Immunologic characterization and detection of innovative biomarkers of post-transplant lymphoproliferative diseases

    Les lymphoproliférations post-transplantation (LPT) sont des complications qui surviennent dans un contexte d’immunosuppression thérapeutique et sont fréquemment associées au virus d’Epstein Barr (EBV). Les LPT EBV+ et les LPT EBV- surviennent dans des contextes viraux et d’immunosuppression différents et pourraient avoir des immunopathologies différentes. Nous avons cherché à mieux comprendre l’immunopathologie des LPT afin d’identifier des nouveaux biomarqueurs immunologiques pour ces maladies. En collaboration avec le réseau K-VIROGREF, nous avons comparé le statut immunologique de 60 patients LPT EBV+ et 39 LPT EBV- par rapport à 21 patients transplantés cliniquement stables (TC). Nos résultats montrent des altérations quantitatives et qualitatives des réponses T anti-EBV et NK au diagnostic d’une LPT EBV+, qui pourraient constituer un rationnel pour le développement des immunothérapies pour les LPT EBV+. De même, nous décrivons une association entre la survie des patients LPT EBV- et la présence d’une lymphopénie T CD4+ ou d’une proportion élevée des cellules T CD4+ Tim-3+ au diagnostic, qui ouvrent la voie à des nouvelles pistes pour le développement des biomarqueurs pronostiques des LPT EBV-. Finalement, nos résultats mettent en évidence des mécanismes immunophysiopathologiques différents entre les LPT EBV+ et les LPT EBV-.Post-transplant lymphoproliferative diseases (PTLD) are common complications arising in a context of therapeutic immunosuppression, frequently associated to the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV). EBV+PTLD and EBV-PTLD might have distinct immune pathologies as occurring at different immunosuppression/viral contexts. The aim of this work was to better understand PTLD immune pathology and to identify new immune-targets that could be used for EBV+/EBV-PTLD surveillance and immunotherapies. In collaboration with K-VIROGREF, the French post-transplant virus-induced cancers study group, we studied the immunological status of 60 EBV+ and 39 EBV- PTLD patients at diagnosis and compared them to 21 PTLD-free Transplant controls (TC). Our results show quantitative and qualitative alterations of peripheral NK and EBV-specific T cells at EBV+ PTLD diagnosis, that provide new clues for the development of immunotherapeutic strategies. Furthermore, we describe an association between EBV- PTLD patients survival and a CD4+ T cell lymphopenia or an increased expression of TIM-3 by peripheral CD4+ T cells at EBV- PTLD diagnosis, which could pave the way to the development of prognostic biomarkers for EBV- PTLDs. Finally, our results highlight different immunopathophysiological mechanisms for EBV+ and EBV- PTLD development
