A New & Improved Drift4 for Performative Speech Analysis

    Get PDF
This article outlines Drift, a pitch-tracking software prototyped in 2016 by Robert Ochshorn and Max Hawkins. Drift measures what human listeners perceive as vocal pitch (the fundamental frequency, the vibration of the vocal cords, as measured in hertz) every 10 milliseconds in a given recording, visualizing it in an easy-to-read, horizontally scrolling pitch trace, aligned with the text being read. Author Sarah Yuniar discusses how Drift can be mobilized in order to bring interpretability to oral literature

ABSTRAK   Pratama, Brian Yuniar. 2012. Pengembangan Trainer Pemindah Botol Minuman Berbasis Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). Tugas Akhir, Jurusan Teknik Elektro, Fakultas Teknik, Universitas Negeri Malang. Pembimbing: (I) Drs. Sujono, M.T (II) Sujito, S.T., M.T.

The Concept of the State of Nature on Human Morals in the Viewpoint of State Life

    Get PDF
The state of nature means that there is no government. In the context of the state of Nature, there are three shops of philosophers whose ideas about the state of nature can be discussed. The three are Thomas Hobbes, John Locke and Jean Jacques Rousseau where the three philosophers have different views on the state of nature. The absence of government is closely related to human morals, which means that there are no restrictions on actions taken by humans against themselves or others because they are not regulated in a constitution or norm. If studied in the contemporary era, the state of nature is very irrelevant because it can be seen now that even though there are countries and governments and laws that bind society, there are still many people who violate these laws. This research uses a literature study approach by using qualitative methods in examining various kinds of problems regarding the state of nature. In conducting research, the author collects various kinds of readings such as journals, books and so on to explain the concept of the natural state according to the topics discussed

Earthquakes are events that come suddenly. Until now, the occurrence of the earthquake has not yet been predicted. Likewise, the risk posed by earthquakes cannot be predicted, but can be reduced through disaster mitigation. However, mitigation has not been able to solve problems that occur after the earthquake, such as constraints on meeting electrical energy. Indonesia has the potential to utilize earthquake vibrations into electricity, through the Earthquake Power Plant (PLTGB) proposed by the author. One of the techniques that can be used for the process of converting earthquake vibration energy into electrical energy is using piezoelectric materials. Piezoelectric material is a material that has high advantages with a stable energy density and does not require an external power so that its utilization produces large profits. The process of harvesting electrical energy is obtained from applying pressure to the piezoelectric material at a certain frequency, so that the piezoelectric material can function as an electric generator. The type of writing used in this paper is literature review, with secondary data sources obtained from various literatures. Data collection techniques using documentation study. Data analysis used an interactive analysis model, namely data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The principle of PLTGB application is carried out in two periods, namely the period during the earthquake and the period outside the earthquake with the aim of storing energy reserves outside the earthquake. The PLTGB construction material is implanted under the highway at 5 meters near the zebra crossing which will be made like a bump, so that during the earthquake period the material will work as in principle. However, outside the earthquake period, when the vehicle stops or runs, it will put mechanical pressure on the piezoelectric which can generate electric current. The material to be used as a piezoelectric in PLTGB is Barium Titanate (BaTiO3). This material is based on normal ferroelectricity which is strong for transducer induction when compared to the magnitude of its polarization, the amount of permittivity, and the amount of stress induction that this material can reach. The first stage of PLTGB implementation is creating a pilot area, the second stage of evaluation, the third stage of promotion, the fourth stage of PLTGB socialization, and the fifth stage of developing PLTGB nationally. For Indonesia, PLTGB has the potential to be applied. It is hoped that the electrical energy produced by PLTGB can be used for post-earthquake activities

    No full text
============================================ Cosplay is an act of dressing up as fictional characters and continues to be a trend due to the emergence of new characters from TV shows, comics, and games. Events are held weekly in Surabaya, predominantly attracting female enthusiasts aged 17-22 years, with an average attendance of 400-500 visitors and an average of 30-40 participants in cosplay and coswalk. This has become a significant concern in Surabaya, prompting the author to observe that some cosplayers carry multiple bags to conventions from home to store their cosplay gear. This observation led to the idea of designing bags to lighten and facilitate their activities, incorporating features to carry cosplayers' essential items such as costumes, accessories, wigs, weapons, shoes, and personal belongings like phones, wallets, chargers, and keys. The author gathered data through venue observation, in-depth interviews, and shadowing to understand cosplayers' needs from preparing at home to attending conventions. The design concept for these bags are cosplay, modular, compact, and detachable. The bag has each component starts from compartments 1 and 2 with accessory pockets and wigs to the shoes, makeup, detachable hard-style wig and the slot for the sword on the side of the bag. User testing is being done with the result stating that the user is eased by the compact feature of the product that aids them to carry cosplay items in one. However, due to the user being uncomfortable placing all of the parts on the back being quite heavy, the product optimization is needed for the next research
