A screw-axis approach to the stability of two-wheeled vehicles
The stability of two-wheeled vehicles is predominantly characterized by the well-known weave and wobble vibration modes, which have been extensively investigated in the literature, mainly in terms of their frequencies and damping ratios. In this work the focus is towards their mode shapes, which are investigated using the screw-axis (also called Mozzi-axis), instead of the classic compass diagrams, for a better understanding of their three-dimensional patterns. The analysis is then carried out using the velocity centres for a characterization from the top, rear and side view of the vehicle. The multibody vehicle model employed for the numerical analysis is built in Adams. The dataset resembles that of a 250cc sport motorcycle, and has been derived from laboratory tests. The stability analysis is carried out in the frequency domain. It is found that, depending on the selected plane for the projection of the three-dimensional vibration motion, the trajectories of the velocity centres of the weave and wobble can cross either aft or fore the centre of mass, which has been associated to the under-and over-steering behaviour in the literature
Exploring the management of recurrent angioedema caused by different mechanisms
Purpose of review We aim to explore the most recent insights into the pathogenesis of recurrent angioedema caused by different mechanisms and then focus on the management and treatment approaches available. Recent findings The recently developed DANCE consensus classification identifies five types of angioedema: mast cell-mediated (AE-MC), bradykinin-mediated, because of intrinsic vascular endothelium dysfunction (AE-VE), drug-induced (AE-DI), and due to unknown mechanisms (AE-UNK). These subtypes require different management with treatment choices targeting the main pathogenetic pathways involved in each form. For AE-MC and AE-BK, the therapeutic landscape has been significantly widened in recent years. Conversely, there is a lack of consensus for the hereditary forms because of newly discovered mutations (factor 12, plasminogen, kininogen-1, myoferlin, angiopoietin-1, heparan sulfate 3-O-sulfotransferase 6) and AE-UNK. Summary Recurrent angioedema can present with or without wheals. Angioedema without wheals may be driven by bradykinin and/or mast cell mediators. The different forms respond to specific drugs and require a different management. For its potentially life-threatening and disfiguring features, angioedema should be promptly recognized and effectively treated. For this reason, enhancing awareness about various angioedema subtypes and their management provide a useful tool for the clinical practice
Going Beyond Counting First Authors in Author Co-citation Analysis
The present study examines one of the fundamental aspects of author co-citation analysis (ACA) - the way co-citation
counts are defined. Co-citation counting provides the data on which all subsequent statistical analyses and mappings
are based, and we compare ACA results based on two different types of co-citation counting - the traditional type that
only counts the first one among a cited work's authors on the one hand and a non-traditional type that takes into
account the first 5 authors of a cited work on the other hand. Results indicate that the picture produced through this non-traditional author co-citation counting contains more coherent author groups and is therefore considerably clearer. However, this picture represents fewer specialties in the research field being studied than that produced through the traditional first-author co-citation counting when the same number of top-ranked authors is selected and analyzed. Reasons for these effects are discussed
Variations on the Author
“Variations on the Author” discusses two of Eduardo Coutinho’s recent films (Um Dia na Vida, from 2010, and Últimas Conversas, posthumously released in 2015) and their contribution to the general question of documentary authorship. The director’s filmography is characterized by a consistent yet self-effacing form of authorial self-inscription: Coutinho often features as an interviewer that rather than express opinions propels discourses; an interviewer that is good at listening. This mode of self-inscription characterizes him as an author who is not expressive but who is nonetheless markedly present on the screen. In Um Dia na Vida, however, Coutinho is completely absent form the image, while Últimas Conversas, on the contrary, includes a confessional prologue that moves the director from the margins to the center of his films. This article examines the ways in which these works stand out in the filmography of a director who offers new insights into the notion of cinematic authorship

Appropriate Similarity Measures for Author Cocitation Analysis
We provide a number of new insights into the methodological discussion about author cocitation analysis. We first argue that the use of the Pearson correlation for measuring the similarity between authors’ cocitation profiles is not very satisfactory. We then discuss what kind of similarity measures may be used as an alternative to the Pearson correlation. We consider three similarity measures in particular. One is the well-known cosine. The other two similarity measures have not been used before in the bibliometric literature.
